Husky puppies and dogs in Crystal, Minnesota

Tyr is a male Siberian Husky born approximately 4/21/20 who recently came to us from a Reservation. He has a lot of energy and loves to play with our other dogs. Tyr also likes to spend time outside even when it is cold. Despite having the energy level of a young husky, he is also perfectly happy to curl up next to or on the lap of one of his favorite humans to watch a movie or two. Tyr ignores our cat most of the time. The cat can play and be naughty beside him, and Tyr leaves him alone. However, we noticed that Tyr can be selective when it comes to new dogs. Proper introduction is highly recommended. Another thing to note is Tyr can be food reactive. If there are other dogs or people nearby and he is eating, he may react.  Tyr treats his crate as a safe space and will go in willingly if the door is left open or for short periods of time for a time out, but he does not like to be left in the crate. He will hurt himself trying to get out of the crate if left for a long time. He will likewise pee in the crate. If we have to go on errands, we leave him in the house with our other dogs. We found out that being left by himself, despite not being in the crate, causes separation anxiety. He will try to get out of the house by chewing and clawing at doors and siding. He will also try to chew doorknobs. Sadly, the one incident of doorknob chewing damaged his canine and it had to be extracted. Tyr will need dental care to make sure his teeth do not get damaged further.  When it comes to feeding, we suspect that his previous owner fed him in his crate since he does not eat much from a dish left out in the open and seems to feel more secure eating in the crate. Tyr knows basic commands like sit and shake. He will tell you if needs to go potty.   Since Huskies tend to have a high energy level and separation anxiety, we think he would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time and is able to provide the physical and mental stimulation he needs. If not around most of the time, it will be better for Tyr to go to a home with another dog that he can bond with to ease his separation anxiety.  A home with a fenced-in yard will be the most ideal forever home for Tyr. He is an extremely talented escape artist and sees escaping as a game. He will not return even if you call out to him. Chasing him will make him run faster and further away.   As you can see from the pictures, he is a gorgeous black and white husky with one blue and one brown eye. He is also very fluffy and soft... perfect to cuddle with! This is Banjo! He’s a Husky born 8/27/22. Banjo is a sweet & intelligent dog, who does great with other dogs, loves toys & shows no issues towards adults or children.  He craves attention & interaction. He has been around dogs of all sizes & cats, even though he did bark at cats. He is learning to walk on a leash & since he doesn't have a lot of confidence, should be tethered carefully outside of a fenced yard, as he doesn't always come when called.  He only barks when other dogs bark, and has been submissive to senior dogs. He is not highly food or treat motivated, so training to come inside or go into the kennel is a work in progress. Once in his kennel, he does very well & sleeps quietly all night.  He does well in the car too! An active family would be the best for this young man, who still has much to learn & is eager to please! Hi, I’m Meg! I’m a Husky born 12/19/21. I have lots of energy and would benefit from regular walks and/or an active person or family. I do okay on a leash. I don’t pull a whole lot but could benefit from some leash training. I do well in a kennel but my current foster family lets me have full reign of the house with the other dogs. I live with two other dogs and do well with them, however, the puppy in my still gets excited and I’ve nipped a time or two. I also live with two cats. I’m curious about them but don’t make any attempts to hurt or chase them. I also live with an 8 year old human. I may not be good for a home with smaller children as I am a bigger dog and haven’t learned how to greet you without jumping on you yet. I know the word down and will get down after a big slobbery kiss hello. I enjoy car rides and make an amazing travel companion. I enjoy snuggles with my foster family and trying to be a lap dog even if I don’t always fit. I’m pretty well potty trained. I’ve had a few accidents in the house while adjusting to my new home, but my foster family is getting better at picking up my cues that I need to go outside. I am generally pretty quiet but I will bark to say hello when you come from work, when the kid opens his bedroom door in the morning and out the window at the neighbor in their own driveway (the nerve of them to use their own driveway and not even show me love). My barks may be too loud in an apartment setting. Hi, I’m Milo! I’m a husky mix born 3/17/22 who is looking for some new roommates! So far, it seems like I love everyone I meet! I live with a five year old and a bunch of other dogs and do well with them all. I can come on kind of strong because I’m so playful but I respond well to corrections from my doggy friends! I LOVE to play with other dogs or humans.  I sleep quietly in my kennel overnight and when my people are gone. I do need to be kenneled until I learn what is chewable and what is not. I ride nice & politely in the car. I don’t bark at things while I’m in the car, or on walks but I do bark a lot during play and in general to talk back when I’m not getting my way. I keep my kennel clean at night, and only had a few ‘marking’ accidents when I first came to my foster home. If I wear a belly band at first when I come home, I should be good to go!  I walk well on a leash, typically I’m on a long line when mom takes me for walks. I love both snow & water, so if you’re looking for an active dog or playmate companion, I might just be what you’re looking for. Hi! My name is Reggie. I’m a husky mix born 12/17/23 and have more of the plush coat unlike my sister Reese. I am a snuggly little guy. I love to snuggle with my foster mom, my sister and the resident dogs. I am kennel trained and do great in it during the day while my foster mom goes to work. I will even put myself to bed at night. I am working on my basic commands. I’m working on going potty outside and am doing great on a schedule. I will even let you know when I have to go outside. That’s the only time I will use my voice to let you know I have to potty. I love to follow my foster mom around the house. I love to play in the yard with my sister and the big resident malamute. Hi! My name is Reese. I’m a fluffy little Husky mix born 12/17/23. My foster mom says that I’m sooo soft that it’s like cuddling a cloud. Because of all this fluffy fur, I tend to get warm quickly. Have no fear, my coat was made to regulate my temp! I love to run around in the yard and play with my brother and the big Malamute that lives here. I am kennel trained but like to use my voice the first few minutes in the kennel. I do great in my kennel during the day while my foster mom is at work. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Balto was adopted as a puppy and returned as an adult due to family changes.  Hi I'm Balto and I am looking for my forever home. I'm from a litter of 10 puppies and we all found our forever homes until mine didn't have time for a 'dog' anymore. So I ended up back at the rescue where I started. I'm in a foster home now and lucky to be with one of my sisters from my litter and I have a foster brother who is a Chihuahua mix. I get along with both of them and love playing with my sister but I am selective with all the animals in the home at times, so I would need to be an only pet in the home. I can socialize outside the home with other dogs, I just don't like to share when I'm in my own place. I have lots of puppy energy so I need a family that will help me learn and grow. I do know your basic commands sit, stay, lay, down and no. I like playing with toys, stuffies, chew bones, balls playing tug with my sister fetch with my foster parents. I do destroy stuffies so we might want to wait on them until I'm older. I love playing outside with my sister (fenced in yard) and going for walks with the whole family. I have lots of energy to burn so I need to stay busy so I don't do any naughty things when I'm bored. (Chew toys are a must) I take naps after a good play or walk and I love to snuggle with my human and sometimes I think I'm a lap dog. I'm a good eater and drink lots of water treats are good too but make me work for them so I don't forget my training. My foster parents tell me I'm a good boy when getting my treats I like that. I also like to relax and just sit in the yard / deck and watch the squirrels and birds. I'm okay by myself but would prefer my human to relax with me.(snuggles) I also love to hold your hand with my paw when we're just chilling. I do great in the car and love going for rides and watching out the window. I'm good with meeting new people I love the attention and I sit for kids and let them give me all the pets and belly rubs they want. When we go for our walks I do good when passing other people and dogs unless they want to meet me then I sit and get all the pets I can. When at home I do get jealous if my foster brother or sister is getting attention I like to push my way in and get the attention for myself I'm working on that now. I'm also working on sharing toys and chew bones with my foster siblings I like to have them all to myself but my foster parents tell me I am getting better at sharing them just need to be reminded at times. I'm still a young boy learning. We have cats in my foster home but I don't know how to react/play with them I get so excited I scare them so at this time I cannot be around the cats. My foster parents think when I'm older I could have a cat sibling. So at this time I am good with kids, a fenced in yard and no dogs or cats. So if you think you are my forever home and family and will continue to work with me let's meet. I'm ready for my forever family.  Balto is fully potty trained and will go to the door and bark/whine when he needs to go out. He also sleeps through the night anywhere from 8-12 hours depending on how much exercise he had the day before. I love to be the first one to do things like walk through an open door, meet new people, or even see if something is edible! Hee, hee!! I also love to roll around, play with my Nerf soccer ball, and chew on toys. I actually like to eat my toys and am possessive of those I’m playing with so I need to be closely supervised because I will bite if a toy is taken away from me. I get along with other dogs, but I have not met any cats, and kids are not a good fit for me. I am a very friendly boy, but I do tend to nibble people to show affection, get attention, or to warn that I don’t like something. I am a typical Husky who not only loves to pull on the leash and run when off leash, but I’m an escape artist too! It’s true, I’ve broken out of a wire crate and even destroyed items in a room…no walls, doors, floors, or anything but still, I will need a securely fenced yard at my new home. I should also not have any shared walls because when I’m left alone or in the kennel/crate I can holler for a couple hours. I am a smart guy who knows what “sit” & “down” mean, and not only am I potty trained, but I am super good about letting you know I need to go out by grabbing my tail! I am also very gentle when it comes to taking treats although I can be a bit picky about them! Hee, hee!! Welcome Bailey Blue to CCPAL Foster Program. She is a 4-year-old and appears to be a pure bred Siberian Husky. She is a little bit chunky at 75 pounds. She is a beautiful Red and White husky with light blue eyes. She is good with dogs her size and smaller dogs. She was very tolerant of a little dominant boy dog that fell in love with her at the Rescue. She has lived in a home with children successfully. She is also around cats but all time with them is supervised. She is potty trained, good on a leash and good in a car. She does not jump up on you which is nice. She has a beautiful coat that will need regular brushing to stay looking beautiful. We would love a previous husky owner for her new family. She would love to live in the cooler more northern climates as she has a beautiful full coat to fully enjoy this type of weather. She would be fine with children and we like them to be 8 or older. He was trained to be with a deaf person and he knows some hand signals for commands. He is a beautiful Black and white husky with light blue eyes. He is good with dogs his size and smaller dogs.
