Hi there! My name is Beni and I'm a big handsome boy! Let me tell you about myself.  I was adopted as a puppy but due to some family problems, with no fault of my own, I was returned to the rescue. My first week or so at my new foster home I was very confused and it was scary. I stayed in my kennel a lot, but I started warming up to my foster mom. We went on walks and I started feeling more comfortable. Then I started to get to know the resident dogs and made friends. Now, I am still nervous around new people but when I get to know you, I'll be your best friend.  I'm a silly boy who likes to play! I run around the backyard, I like to play in the kiddie pool, and even like to stick my head in the water bowl! I do like to play but I love my humans! I want to know where you are so I'll follow you around and I'll jump on the couch or bed to be with you. I wouldn't do well with small children because I'm a bigger guy. I also don't think I'd do well with cats because I want to chase them. I'm a good boy on walks and I ride in the car well! When I see my leash, I get really excited! I also do well in my kennel. A German Shepherd savvy owner who wants to train her, socialize her,  so awkward when meeting new people She is house trained, well mannered for her family and really wants to be a social butterfly, but she needs focus and simple training to be able to do that.  She is good with other dogs.  Cats are unknown.  Small kids might be a bit too chaotic for her.A note from her surrendering ownerWe adopted Pixie in October of 2022 and we have loved having her in our home.  She is sweet and loving and very loyal to her people.  She is an excellent guard dog and lets us know when anyone is close by.  She loves to play fetch and she loves to run around in the yard.  She doesn’t like sudden movements or loud noises.  She is afraid of brooms, mops or anything that resembles a long stick.  Pixie received one-on-one training through Happy Tailz last summer and she proved to be a very good student.  She understands a lot of words and is extremely smart.  We are sad that our situation has changed and has made it difficult for us to take care of Pixie.  We hope Pixie can find her forever home where she can get all the time and love she deserves. Hi, I’m Gloria! I’m a charming 2.5-year-old Shepherd mix who traveled from Afghanistan in search of my forever home. My past is a bit of a mystery, but my foster mom suspects I was once a stray. While I’m not as tall as a typical Shepherd, I do shed a bit, so be prepared for some fur. I’m a friendly girl who loves meeting new people, though I can be a bit vocal at first—just a way to let you know I’m eager for some attention and pets! Once I get those belly rubs, I’m all wagging tails and happy vibes. My tail wag is so enthusiastic it makes my whole body sway—it’s quite the sight! I’m a bit of a work in progress with some quirks. I’m great in a crate, but I tend to jump up on people, so older kids are probably best for now while I work on my manners. I do enjoy the company of other dogs but can be a little too enthusiastic. I'm not as good with tiny dogs but I do just fine with my 30lb foster brother. I prefer to eat alone, as I get protective over my food and treats, so my foster feeds me in my crate to avoid any issues. I haven’t met any cats and, given my reaction to smaller dogs, it’s probably best I don’t. I ride beautifully in the car and am making strides with my leash training—though I still pull a bit. Leia is a happy, energetic girl looking for a larger home/yard to enjoy. She loves people, and is good with kids. Very excitable around cats but hasn't met one up close. She is a good girl and looks for lots of attention. She's alright with basic commands but can get distracted. Her relationship with other dogs is soso - we believe it easiest if she was an only dog - but, certain dogs could work. She can play rough and not all dogs like it. It's an area to be thoughtful about, but isn't a deal breaker necessarily. Another thing important for her is having space and exercise. She loves to run after a ball or stick and will (mostly) bring it back. Did I say she was 3- legged? You'll hardly notice it until it comes to stairs and hardwood floors. Carpet on stairs could give her enough confidence, but we just let her sleep downstairs. She is a really loving dog, who needs more space, exercise, and attention than can currently be given. My name is Sunny, and I’m a 2-year-old Shepard Mix weighing 65 pounds. Despite having some old fractures in my back left leg from being hit by a car, I’m a cheerful and loving girl. I take medication (Galiprant) for pain and inflammation, and I have some arthritis developing in that area so my forever family will need to make sure I stay slim and fit. I absolutely love being around my people and can be a bit of a velcro dog, always wanting to be right by your side. I do have severe separation anxiety, but with the right kind of crate, medications (trazodone, clonidine, and gabapentin), and distractions like toys, talk radio, and treats like Kongs, I've been doing much better. I’m incredibly smart, which means I learn commands and tricks easily, but it also means I can figure out how to open crates, doors, trash cans, and even toilets unless measures are taken to prevent it. I’m super playful and love toys, especially crinkly and squeaky ones, and I adore chasing balls. Sometimes, I get a bit hyper and playful-aggressive, especially if I’ve been crated for a while or am greeting someone who has been away. I use my mouth a lot when I’m happy and excited, snapping my jaws and mouthing at people. I’m known as the "sweet shark" around my foster home because of it! Normally, my mouthing isn’t a big deal, and I can be redirected, but sometimes I bite a bit hard out of excitement. Because of this, I might not be the best fit for homes with young kids or people who are hesitant around dogs. I’m almost potty trained as long as I’m on a good schedule, and I do well with a special crate. I broke out of traditional wire and plastic crates, but I sleep in a plastic crate at night without breaking out since I can see my humans. I do require a fenced yard as I am not leash trained. I know commands like 'Sit,' 'Kennel/Crate,' 'Wait,' 'Go Potty,' and 'Lay Down.' I get along well with dogs of all sizes, though I’ve never lived with another dog. Given my separation anxiety, having another dog might help me, but I’m not sure since I’ve been doing better with my medications and special crate. I’m a sweet, goofy girl who’s been through a lot and deserves all the love. I’m super loyal and loving, and I’ll reciprocate all the affection I receive. I love doing happy dances when I win at playing tug with my toys, and I make my humans laugh every day with my silly smiles and joyful exuberance. Gunner is an adorable sable male GSD. Gunner lost his mom suddenly and needed a place to go, so we took him in. Gunner had a knee surgery previously, so he does walk a little funny, but that does not stop him from playing with his jolly balls! Gunner should be the only dog in the home at this point in his life. He is crate trained, neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Angel is a 1.5-year-old German Shepherd mix, weighing in at 52 pounds of pure sweetness! This waggy-tailed girl is all about love and affection, always ready for snuggles and playtime. She’s learning commands like sit and stay and picking them up quickly.Angel loves playing catch, enjoys chew toys, and gets along great with her foster’s dog. She’s crate trained and working on house training, making great progress every day. She loves playing with toys, especially ones that she can chew on. She is constantly on the go and would love to live with an active family, ideally one with another dog! She is kennel trained and mostly house trained (has only had one accident in her foster home). She loves people once she has a chance to get comfortable around them and would need proper introductions to any children. She has not been around cats. She’s still learning how to walk on a leash but is making great progress everyday!
