Story
**MEET ALFIE** Alfie is a sweet, well-behaved, and adorable 3-year-old Husky, who is a happy-go-lucky dog. He is so thrilled to be safe, well-loved, and well-exercised. Alfie loves adventures, car rides, the beach and meeting new people and dogs. Just three weeks ago, Alfie was almost euthanized. While we were urgently searching for fosters for several wonderful large dogs, five sadly lost their lives before we could find them homes. Our foster, Kristine, in Lake Stevens, was determined not to let Alfie be one of them. She shared his story online and in local groups. Lesa then stepped in, and together we saved Alfie just in time. Lesa also helped by transporting Alfie and four other rescued dogs from Lacey to Arlington. Alfie has been resting, getting plenty of love and exercise from his foster family, and is now ready for his forever home. Here’s what Lesa has to say about Alfie: Alfie is playful and cuddly, and he loves going for walks. He does great on a leash. Alfie gets along well with confident, dog-savvy cats after he has had a chance to meet them. If a cat runs, he will chase, which is typical for Huskies. He also gets along well with our dog and enjoys having a playmate, but he can be happy as an only dog as long as he gets plenty of exercise. Huskies need to run and play to stay happy. Alfie needs a fenced yard at least six feet tall, with enough space for him to play and take potty breaks. He would do best with active adopters who enjoy going on adventures with their dog, since Alfie is an energetic three-year-old. Alfie is neutered. He is current on his vaccines. He is healthy, happy, and enjoying life. If you would like to meet or adopt Alfie, who is currently in Lake Stevens, WA, please fill out an adoption form at www.smallpupsrescue.org. We will contact you within 24 business hours to set up a phone interview. Alfie has a $570 adoption fee. All fees are recycled to rescue more dogs. Courtesy Post Meet Beau, a handsome 2-year-old Shepherd Lab mix with a tall, athletic build, weighing around 65-70 pounds. Beau is kennel trained and enjoys affection, though he’s not the overly cuddly type. He’s happiest when he’s exploring the yard, playing, and enjoying his surroundings. Beau is the perfect companion for someone who appreciates an independent yet friendly dog with a playful spirit. If you’re looking for a loyal buddy to share your adventures and quiet moments, Beau could be the one for you! ***Courtesy Post*** Located in Yakima, WA but can be transported to Western WA! Beau is a striking 2 year old Shepherd Lab mix with a tall, athletic frame and movie star posture, weighing about 65 to 70 pounds. He is the kind of dog who turns heads without even trying. Beau is kennel trained and enjoys affection, though he is not a velcro dog. He appreciates love on his terms and carries himself with a confident, independent streak. He is happiest stretching his long legs in the yard, exploring his surroundings, and engaging in playful bursts of energy. Think adventure buddy with a thoughtful side. He would thrive with someone who values a friendly but self assured companion. Beau is not demanding. He is steady, loyal, and ready to share both outdoor fun and peaceful downtime with his person. If you are looking for a dog who will walk beside you rather than cling to you, Beau may be your perfect match. Courtesy Post This dog is not in our rescue’s care. Beau is currently located in Yakima, WA and can be transported to Western WA. If you are interested, please let us know and we will connect you directly with his foster.

Story
Meet Mae! We are looking to find a wonderful new home for our 10-month-old female Golden Retriever and Shepherd mix, Mae. She is an incredibly sweet dog who absolutely loves people, but she has a lot of puppy energy. We currently have two small dogs and young children, and Mae simply needs more space and outdoor time than we are able to provide her. She will thrive in an active environment that can keep up with her! The Details: Age/Breed: 10 months old | Female Golden Retriever & Shepherd Mix Health: Spayed, microchipped, and fully up to date on all shots/vaccinations. Training: Housebroken, completely crate trained, and knows her basic commands. Her Ideal Home: Because of her energy levels and size, Mae would do best in a home with active, outdoorsy adults and older children. She does great with other large dogs and would make an amazing running, hiking, or adventure buddy! Rehoming Fee: $50 (To ensure she goes to a serious, committed home).
