Story
Colt is a 7 year old German Shepherd who needs a home without other pets. He is amazing with people and kids. He would benefit from daily exercise, he must have a fenced yard, and preference to someone who has a lot of room to roam or property. My heart is breaking having to rehome him but he doesn’t get along with our senior dog and it is causing non-stop issues in our household. Thank you!

Story
Meet Beau, a handsome 1-year-old Shepherd Lab mix with a tall, athletic build, weighing around 65-70 pounds. As a littermate to Rosie and Petunia, Beau shares their sweet nature but has a personality all his own. Beau is kennel trained and enjoys affection, though he’s not the overly cuddly type. He’s happiest when he’s exploring the yard, playing, and enjoying his surroundings. Beau is the perfect companion for someone who appreciates an independent yet friendly dog with a playful spirit. If you’re looking for a loyal buddy to share your adventures and quiet moments, Beau could be the one for you! ***Courtesy Post*** This pet is not with our rescue. Located in Yakima WA but can be transported to Western WA. If interested, let us know and we will put you in touch with his foster.

Story
Things have gotten super hectic lately, and as much as it breaks my heart to say it. I need to find a loving new home for my German Shepherd, a really sweet 6-year-old boy. He is the absolute best - playful, energetic, and cuddle bug! He is perfectly healthy all his shots are up to date, and his happiest with his nose to the ground, exploring the outdoors - running, hiking - the works! He really needs a family who has lots of time for outdoor adventures and plenty of snuggle time. If you're looking for a furry best friend who fill your life with joy and boundless energy, and you think you might be the perfect match, I'd love to chat! Let see if it's a good fit for both of you.

Story
FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- This boy!!! Cecil has been with Save-A-Mutt for a year now. We are so confused as to why this big goof has not found his forever home. Fortunately he is surrounded by an amazing community and a loving foster home. Cecils is all Mutt! Shepherd, Bully, Doberman, Aussie, Cattle Dog and even a little chihuahua. Hee Hee. Cecil turned a year old in November. He's about 70#. Cecil is confident and friendly. He loves 'lovins' and to be acknowledged by his people. He will try for a lap but overall defaults to sleeping on a dog bed. He hasn’t gotten on the furniture except when there’s a person to cuddle with. He is respectful of the other dogs and plays well his foster siblings. Cecil is smart and housebroken. He does very well in his crate and sleeps through the night. Cecil thinks the resident cat is fun to bark at... but he does not chase. Dog savvy cats would be OK. Cecil does sometimes like to hear himself talk, go figure - he's got that GSD DNA in him. ;) We think his ideal home is one with a large fenced yard, and another larger friendly dog. Older kids would be fine, cuz Cecil is a big door and may knock over smaller children. This puppy is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Cecil has also been put on pet insurance and cleared orthopedically. He's great off leash, but as he's become a 'teenager' has gotten more excited and barks on leash. We started Cecil in private dog training with Evergreen School for Dogs in Arlington. His foster mom is taking him and says Cecil is very smart and responsive. The trainer explained that Cecil is naturally 'fearful' in a crowd. Off leash at the park, he's great, because if he gets concerned, he can walk away. But at events with LOTS of commotion, when he can't move away, he reacts by barking. We think his ideal family knows that Cecil will unlikely be the type of dog you take to heavily trafficked events - but camping, hiking, and other fun would be great for him! His foster noticed that Cecil had been a little itchy - and after a visit to the vet, an allergy test, we discovered that he has some extensive allergies to plants, mold, cats, etc. Fortunately - Cecil is on pet insurance and it can be transferred when he is adopted. Now that it's winter, he is just fine on OTC allergy meds. Come summer, when the grasses and pollens are more saturated, a monthly cytopoint injection will take care of his issues. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Save-A-Mutt may require a training contract and refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience) on our larger breed puppies. Adoptions typically take place in Everett. This puppy is ready for it's new home! Adoption fee is $325. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.

Story
**Adoption visits are by appointment only** If you see an animal you`re interested in, fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-PetRingo is a friendly, social guy who loves hanging with his people. He has previously lived with a female dog his size and does seem to prefer female dogs here at the shelter. Ringo is looking for a home that can give him the love he deserves and help him age gracefully. Ringo weighs 81 pounds. Wandering Rover Report: We took Ringo out on wandering rover and he did great. First we took him through the drive-thru for a pup cup and he got very excited while we were waiting in the line. I suspect either he knows what Starbucks is or gets a little vocal when the car stops. After we went to PetSmart and he didn`t show too much interest in the toys. He did show interest in other dogs and would bark a little while passing but with sone redirecting he would ignore. Then we took a nice calm walk which he seemed to enjoy and he loved smelling all the smells. He is a great dog in the car and does well on the leash. He`s a very sweet boy.
