Story
Animal Profile: Freya is an estimated 4-year-old, 60 lb female German Shepherd who has a lot of love to give. She is smart and loves to work for you. She will thrive with a strong leader --  otherwise she is prone to anxiety. She is house trained, crate trained, fully obedience trained and will do best with a Shepherd-savvy owner capable of providing her with guidance as well as physical and mental stimulation. Freya LOVES to fetch and BALL IS LIFE. She walks well on a leash with a training collar. This loyal and affectionate girl is slow to warm up to new people and will need an owner who is comfortable managing her safe introductions to strangers, but once you earn her trust, she's very eager to please. Freya has lived with other dogs and loves to play with them; she's good with dogs big and small, male and female. At this time we are prioritizing a home for Freya with a resident dog(s) as we think she would do best in a pack. She's also been tested with cats and exhibits no prey drive, and is amusingly scared of chickens. She is currently living in a home with small children and has done well with them, but we would prefer to place her in an adult-only home.  Adopter Profile:  Large dog experience required Shepherd experience preferred Single family residence required (no apartments) Secure fenced yard required Other balanced dog(s) preferred Cats OK No kids preferred Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a federal 501c3 organization.  TAKE HOME TRAINING SESSION INCLUDED WITH ADOPTION Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Freya was found as a stray in Dec 2020 in Tacoma extremely underweight (40 lbs) and very scared. She was taken into Tacoma Humane Society and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle. She was fostered with DGS for several months while she learned basic manners and gained 15 lbs. She was adopted in March 2021 and lived with a caring family. Unfortunately they lived in a condo with no secure yard in a busy urban environment, which proved too challenging for Freya with those particular owners. She was returned to DGS in April 2022 and received a professional board and train with our training partner Seattle K9 Command. She is now being fostered in Bothell and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.  June 5, 2025, 2:39 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Jazzmin is an estimated 12 to 18-month old (now) spayed 65 lb female German Shepherd who was found as a stray in Battle Ground Washington. She was taken in for her stray hold and is currently being fostered with other large dogs and gets along well with the friendly male dog in the home. She is friendly with people and in evaluation at A Dog's Best Friend she was observed to be even-tempered and intelligent. In foster care she is house-trained, crate-trained and doesn't exhibit separation anxiety. She does get excited meeting people and sometimes jumps up but she's learning quickly.  Adopter Profile: Jazzmin is a smart and busy girl who is people-oriented, biddable and highly motivated to learn. She has picked up basic obedience quickly and has a good understanding of sit, down, place and heel (she's learning in German!). She would thrive in a shepherd savvy home with or without other friendly dogs; we would consider her for a home with a dog-savvy cat with the understanding that additional training will be needed. Jazzmin is not a couch potato and will need an active owner committed to intentional interactions with her to meet her mental and physical needs. She has a great off-switch and is calm in quiet in her crate, provided her needs have been met. With training, she has the capacity to be a go everywhere (hiking, parks, breweries) dog as she has a solid temperament but again, she needs an owner willing to put in the time and work to get her there. Due to Jazzmin's specific needs, we will not be considering apartments or individuals without large breed (and ideally shepherd) experience.  &#226&#128&#139Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Jazzmin was found as a stray in Battle Ground on Nov 18, 2024 and completed her stray intake with the local shelter. She is currently being fostered in the Vancouver area and is available for adoption. June 6, 2025, 3:07 pm

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Bowie - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hello hello big ole world let me introduce myself. My name is Bowie as in David Bowie, that charismatic gentleman, singer and entertainer and I'm sure to be just as big a hit... and win you over too with my kind and easy going manner. I'm a 52lb big ole lug that is ready to do the 'Magic Dance' when I get my fur-ever home! And since you're reading this, I'm hoping you will consider making ME a part of yours!! I don't need any of that 'Fame', just lots of love. I'm around 2 years of age which puts me at a pawsome age that is out of the puppy destructive stage but still energetic enough to tag along on ALL your adventures. Anything from 'Dancing in the Streets' to hiking those nature trails. I get along great with people but would probably do better in a home with other dogs more my size. I do live with cats in my foster home so I should do OK with them. I was pulled from a local shelter where I was found pretty skinny and malnourished. I have since put some meat on my bones but I can resource guard my food bowl and would do best fed separately. I am house trained already which lets us get right to all that fun stuff...right away!! If you're looking for a ball of fur to keep a smile on your face with my singing and dancing abilities, look no further... I'm your man!! I am soooo ready to unleash all this awesomeness on my new family so if you think I could be a perfect fit for you and your lifestyle please stop scrolling. All you need to do is fill out my adoption application and I will do the rest! You can find it at haydudeequine.org
