Story
Animal Profile: Freya is an estimated 4-year-old, 60 lb female German Shepherd who has a lot of love to give. She is smart and loves to work for you. She will thrive with a strong leader --  otherwise she is prone to anxiety. She is house trained, crate trained, fully obedience trained and will do best with a Shepherd-savvy owner capable of providing her with guidance as well as physical and mental stimulation. Freya LOVES to fetch and BALL IS LIFE. She walks well on a leash with a training collar. This loyal and affectionate girl is slow to warm up to new people and will need an owner who is comfortable managing her safe introductions to strangers, but once you earn her trust, she's very eager to please. Freya has lived with other dogs and loves to play with them; she's good with dogs big and small, male and female. At this time we are prioritizing a home for Freya with a resident dog(s) as we think she would do best in a pack. She's also been tested with cats and exhibits no prey drive, and is amusingly scared of chickens. She is currently living in a home with small children and has done well with them, but we would prefer to place her in an adult-only home.  Adopter Profile:  Large dog experience required Shepherd experience preferred Single family residence required (no apartments) Secure fenced yard required Other balanced dog(s) preferred Cats OK No kids preferred Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a federal 501c3 organization.  TAKE HOME TRAINING SESSION INCLUDED WITH ADOPTION Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Freya was found as a stray in Dec 2020 in Tacoma extremely underweight (40 lbs) and very scared. She was taken into Tacoma Humane Society and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle. She was fostered with DGS for several months while she learned basic manners and gained 15 lbs. She was adopted in March 2021 and lived with a caring family. Unfortunately they lived in a condo with no secure yard in a busy urban environment, which proved too challenging for Freya with those particular owners. She was returned to DGS in April 2022 and received a professional board and train with our training partner Seattle K9 Command. She is now being fostered in Bothell and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.  June 5, 2025, 2:39 pm

Story
WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Galileo - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Looking for a lovable lug with a heart of gold and a goofy grin? Meet Galileo, a 2-year-old, 52-pound sweetheart who’s equal parts energetic hiking pal and easygoing sidekick. Galileo may have had a ruff start, but you’d never know it from his sweet, happy-go-lucky spirit. Pulled from a local shelter skinny and malnourished, this goofball is now thriving in his foster home and ready for his next chapter — a forever home full of love, treats, and adventure. Because of him being malnourished he does have some resource guarding with his food bowl and would be best fed separately. Galileo is well-behaved, affectionate, and full of playful energy. He’s great with people (even the tiny humans!) and enjoys the company of other dogs — though he does best with pups closer to his size. He’s currently living peacefully with cats and has an easygoing, adaptable nature that makes him a great fit for many types of homes. Whether you’re hitting the trails or kicking back at home, Galileo is your guy. His past may be behind him, but his future is looking bright — especially if it’s with you. Adopt Galileo – and help him write the happy ending he’s been waiting for and in the process, gain a big-hearted best friend in it for the long haul!. If you you're looking for an active companion to share your life, stop scrolling and fill out his adoption application. You can find it at haydudeequine.org

Story
Animal Profile:  Meet Glory! In  late April, we were contacted about a mama Shepherd who had just given birth to 10 tiny puppies in a rural Texas shelter. Unfortunately 2 did not make it. This sweet family was out of time and facing euthanasia. A concrete shelter floor is no place to raise babies. Thankfully, our incredible rescue partner Saving Shelter Strays stepped in and gave them the second chance they so desperately needed. They've spent the past few weeks in a loving TX foster home and are healthy and thriving. They are ready for their bus ride to WA! They arrive 06/13 — but they need foster homes (or foster-to-adopt!) to continue their journey. Please contact us if you can foster or for more information on our foster to adopt program toni@doggoneseattle.org Foster Update: Glory is a very sweet, cuddly pup. She has typical puppy energy and is very curious. Based on the size of her feet, she's going to be a pretty big girl. She loves to run around and play and then snuggle in for a nap. She loves all people and gets along with other dogs who can handle her energy. She is coming along with house training and after a few minutes, settles in well to the crate.  Due to breed and potential size we are looking for a home with a securely fenced yard, breed experience a plus. We are not considering apartments at this time.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued in partnership with Saving Shelter Strays and Furry Freight in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care via Birdie Express arriving on 6/15. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.July 4, 2025, 2:26 pm
