Story
Meet Timmy, a shy but incredibly sweet boy who's looking for a patient and loving home. Timmy may be a little reserved at first, but once he feels comfortable, his gentle nature shines through. Unfortunately, Timmy lost his eye due to a chronic eye issue, but that doesn't slow him down-he's just as loving and playful as any pup! Timmy would thrive in a home with another dog to help him feel more secure and confident. If you're looking for a sweet, quiet companion who will blossom with time and love, Timmy could be the perfect addition to your family. From his holiday foster: "Thank you for allowing us to love on Timmy this past week. He made soo much progress each day. From having to be picked up just to get him anywhere the first day to walking confidently around the block (multiple time a day by his request). He was the sweetest boy and I'm excited he's going back more confident and more ready for his furever home. We do believe he'll be better with a fully fenced in yard. He wanted to be outside constantly and walk around. Allowing him to be more would make him happier. As you know he needs another dog to help him gain confidence, he walked so well with your other dog and she would help encourage him to do things."

Story
My name is Franklin and I’m ADORABLE! I’m also looking for my forever home. I’m just a baby – not even 1 y.o., but some things I know: I’m smart, snuggly, curious, energetic, vocal, stubborn and I love to be with people! I weigh 14 lbs now and I live with my foster family in central, IL. I’m not skittish - I’m a typical crazy Shiba puppy with lots of energy and opinions. I have a high prey drive and I love chasing rabbits in the fenced yard. I love playing with toys and going for walks and sniffing everything. I’m learning to walk politely on leash and not zig-zag or get too excited when I see people and dogs. Since I’m young, my forever home will need to commit to continuing training so I can become a well-mannered adult. Foster mom says that I love the sound of my own voice. I guess that’s a nice way of saying that I can be loud. I’m not a fan of being left alone and when foster mom puts me in my crate I throw a little tantrum until I tucker myself out. (Have you heard a Shiba scream? Google it.) Because I’m vocal, living in an apartment or home that shares walls is not ideal. I’d love a forever family where the people will play with me and keep me company. I'm very snuggly with both people and other dogs. I’d get along with another active dog, and I would love a friend to play with. I do well with the teenagers who live here, but I might be too loud and rambunctious for small kids. Did I mention that I’m smart?! Foster mom says I’m a quick learner when treats are involved. I'm getting the hang of potty training and it only took one treat for me to learn “sit!” And I know how to wait at the door until foster mom says I can go outside. I haven’t been around cats or small pets, but with my high prey drive, it's likely not a good match. I am a healthy boy – vaccinated and neutered. I was born with a grade 4 heart murmur, caused by a VSD (small hole in my heart). The vet told my foster mom that it shouldn’t prevent an active, happy and long life, but I will need regular follow ups with a veterinary cardiologist for monitoring. If you live in the Midwest and want to be my best friend, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA get to know you and your home environment so they can tell if we’ll be a good match. Once approved, they'll connect you with my foster mom so we can meet!

Story
Meet Toad, a 2-year-old Shiba Inu mix who`s ready to find his forever home. Despite overcoming significant challenges, including a broken pelvis and the need for a leg amputation, Toad doesn`t let anything slow him down. He gets around just fine on his three remaining legs and is as active as ever! Toad has the sweetest, most loving personality. He loves nothing more than cuddling up next to you, soaking up all the pets and attention. His gentle demeanor makes him a joy to be around. Toad has been great with respectful children and enjoys playing with toys. While Toad prefers to be the only dog in the home, he`s got more than enough love to share with you. If you`re looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, Toad might just be the perfect fit. Could he be the one you`ve been searching for?

Story
This handsome 4 year old boy needs a quiet Eskie experienced home with no children living in the home or visiting often. Glaze is being rehomed because our first baby is now a toddler and Glaze is not adjusting well at all. We have already hired multiple trainers to help them help Glaze, but Glaze is just not comfortable with a little human running around. Glazes anxiety over this has escalated to biting; he has bitten our toddler twice now and we fear this may get worse. Hence the reason for rehoming, which was recommended by our last trainer. He needs a person who can help him overcome his fears in a calm, structured way. We are hoping we can find that person(s) someone who will see Glaze for the loving, loyal soul he is. He prefers to be an only dog or a fur sibling who is quiet. Glaze needs a different environment, one where he can thrive and feel safe with no children, or frequents visitors and someone experienced with behavioral issues.

Story
My name is Brutus, and I am eight years old. I recently lost my mom, so I am looking for a new home. I have been neutered and am current on all my shots and am heartworm negative. I am on monthly heartworm and flea preventative (Simparica Trio). I am allergic to chicken, but I do very well on lamb based dry dog food. I love to be outside, go for walks, play with my stuffed babies and I am just as happy hanging out on the couch with you. I am not crazy about cats, so I would rather not live with them. I am very smart and easily directed and I am kennel trained but not destructive if given the run of the house. I am basically a happy go lucky kind of guy so if you are looking for the perfect family companion, that’s ME!! Our transport heads to the north east every week. RescueVet transport goes all the way up to Rhode Island, delivering fur friends to their forever homes. Transport fee is an additional $185.00. If you’d like to make this handsome fella part of your family, please follow our link below to fill out an adoption application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9
