Meet Le?n... aka Lion, aka Leon- Your New Favorite Fluffy Little Lovebug! If happiness had four legs, a fluffy coat, and the silliest little grin, it would be Le?n! This super happy 10-12-year-old senior boy is living proof that age is just a number when your heart is full of love and your tail is ready to wag! Le?n is a friendly, gentle, happy-go-lucky gentleman who seems to adore absolutely everyone he meets. His favorite things in life? Getting all the pets, collecting those extra-special butt scratches, enjoying a delicious meal (this boy is not finicky), and making everyone around him smile. Honestly, he's not asking for much - just a comfy place to call home and a human who understands that senior dogs have some of the biggest hearts of all. And guess what? Le?n is already a pretty well-mannered little dude! He's house-trained, crate-trained, and walks nicely on a leash. He's good with other dogs, has no prey drive, and has a gentle nature that makes him such a joy to be around. This fluffy, silly sweetheart isn't interested in chasing the wild life or causing a ruckus. He'd much rather spend his days being loved, soaking up attention, enjoying his meals, and reminding his people just how wonderful life can be with a dog by their side. Le?n's dream home? A loving family who will cherish him for the adorable senior gentleman he is, give him plenty of affection and those all-important booty rubs, and let him spend his golden years knowing he's finally home. Senior dogs have so much love left to give, and Le?n is ready to prove it one happy grin, one tail wag, and one butt scratch at a time! Who's ready to make this fluffy little dude's golden years his very best yet? Adopt Le?n. Get the cuddles. Keep the happiness. Change his life FOR GOOD. 🐾 Meet Hodu! Looking for His Forever Family ❤️ 🐶 Name: Hodu 🎂 Age: Approximately 1 year old 💙 Gender: Male, neutered ⚖️ Weight: 9 kg (20 lbs) 🐕 Breed: Shiba Inu 💕 Hodu is an adorable, energetic Shiba Inu with a playful personality and lots of love to give! Hodu loves both people and other dogs. 🥰 Even when meeting someone new, he often approaches them to initiate play. He also loves being petted and enjoys showing affection to the people around him. He gets along well with children and loves running around and playing with his dog friends. Hodu is comfortable with human touch and enjoys baths and brushing. ❤️ He isn't a big fan of nail trimming, but he is learning to tolerate it without much resistance. 🏡 Things to Know Before Adopting Hodu Hodu is a high-energy boy who needs regular walks, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to burn off energy. He is still working on leash walking and potty training. When he doesn't get enough exercise and mental stimulation, he may bark to get attention or get into mischief around the house. However, once his energy has been properly released, he settles down nicely and can rest comfortably on his own in his crate. 💔 Hodu's Rescue Story Hodu was rescued from a rural home where dogs were bred, sold, and slaughtered for consumption. While living in a small, elevated wire cage, Hodu developed repetitive behaviors and began biting his own tail. His condition eventually became severe enough that his tail had to be amputated. Even now, Hodu occasionally spins around as if chasing his missing tail. However, this behavior does not significantly interfere with his daily life. Despite his difficult past, Hodu remains a loving, playful, and affectionate boy who enjoys being around people and other dogs. 🥹❤️ 🐾 What Kind of Family Would Be a Good Match for Hodu? ✔️ An active family who enjoys spending time outdoors and playing with their dog ✔️ A family committed to providing daily walks, exercise, and mental enrichment ✔️ A patient family willing to continue helping him with leash walking and potty training ✔️ A family who understands his past, supports his needs, and will love him unconditionally for the rest of his life Hodu deserves a life filled with freedom, love, and happiness. We hope he will soon leave his difficult past behind and discover what it means to be a cherished family member. 🙏💕 Hodu is waiting for a family who will love him forever. Could you be the one he's been waiting for? 🏡❤️ 📩 Please contact us for adoption inquiries and applications. #Hodu #ShibaInu #ShibaInuAdoption #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #RescueDogAdoption #ForeverHome #KoreanRescueDog #WelcomePawsRescue

Banjo is a sweet, loving pup who enjoys playing and running. He’s friendly, good natured, and gets along well with kids.Training: Banjo is pad-trained, so he’s great at using a designated indoor bathroom spot—perfect for apartment living or busy schedules! He knows several commands as he was trained while he was a puppy (but may have forgotten several commands since we don't normally use some of them).Ideal Home: Banjo would thrive in a home where he can enjoy companionship and have space to play. Whether you're looking for a snuggle buddy or a playful friend, he’s ready to bring joy to his new family. He has a great temperament. Rehoming Reason: Due to a change in living circumstances (having young children), we’re looking for a loving new home for Banjo where he can get the attention he deserves.

Story
My name is Mango and I’m looking for my forever home. I’m still a puppy – I’ll turn 1 y.o. in December. I came to my foster home here in Quincy, IL, from a commercial breeding facility where I was born. I’m a cautious, curious and goofy little girl. My Shiba spunk is starting to emerge – I get impatient when there’s something between me and what I want and have been known to hop right over one of the other dogs if they’re in my way. I’m a smart girl and learn quickly. Like most Shiba puppies, I love to chew EVERYTHING - sometimes things that aren’t meant for chewing (like furniture and pencils). I’m almost completely potty trained – only an occasional accident if I don’t tell foster mom that I need to go outside. I love to play with the other dogs here in my foster home and go for leash walks in the neighborhood with the other dogs. I’m still learning good leash manners (sometimes I zig-zag and get the leashes all tangled up), but foster mom says I’ll be a pro with more practice. I’m shy at first with other dogs. I haven’t met any cats, but I like to chase birds and squirrels in the yard, so I’m not sure if I’d be a good match for small pets. I haven’t met any little kids, but there are teenagers here in my foster home and I like them. I’m timid around people I don’t know – especially men or groups - I’ll usually hide. I go to foster mom or to the teenage girl when I want attention and affection. My perfect forever family will have patience and experience with puppy antics and shy/fearful dogs. I’d love to have a nice resident dog to play with and to help me continue to learn and blossom. My forever family should be careful to guard against escapes, since I’m good at squirting out open doors. I’d love to have a securely fenced yard to play in and to continue my training so I grow up to be a well-mannered and confident adult. I’m a healthy girl – spayed, vaccinated, and I weigh 18 lbs. If you live in the Midwest and want a pretty girl like me to join your family, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA learn more about you and your home environment so they can tell if we’ll be a good match. Once approved, they’ll introduce you to my foster mom so we can meet!

Story
My name is Haven and I’m looking for my forever home! I’m still a young girl – I'll turn 2 y.o. in March – and I weigh 25 lbs. I am curious, smart, very friendly and sweet. No really – I am! Foster mom says so. I came to my foster home here in Quincy, IL, because my original owners could no longer care for me. Since I am used to living in a house with a family, I settled in pretty well. I love getting attention and affection – pets and belly rubs and treats! I’m a good girl in the house – no accidents and I don’t get into trouble or destroy things when the humans go out. I usually just snooze until they come home again. There are other dogs here and I love to run and play with them in the fenced yard. One of the other dogs has been aggressive to me, so I’m very cautious around her, but I don’t pick fights. My favorite thing to do outside is chase squirrels! Yep, I inherited the Shiba Inu prey drive and since it’s in my genes, I just can’t resist. I pull really hard on the leash when I see one and I’ve bolted right out of the front door if I see a squirrel run by! Because of this, I probably am not a good match for cats or small pets. And my forever family will need to be very careful when opening doors or gates to the outside and also be extra careful during walks so I don’t get loose. There’s not too much that I don’t like, except for nail trims. I put up quite a struggle. I haven’t lived with any small kids, but I’ve met some and think they’re fine. I sometimes bark at the teenagers here, but it doesn’t take long for me to introduce myself and make friends. I’m a healthy girl – spayed and vaccinated. My perfect forever family would have a securely fenced yard and another nice dog for me to run and play with. I’ll need someone who is experienced with preventing escapes, since I’m a door bolter. If you live in the Midwest and want a sweet, smart and loving little girl like me to be part of your family, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt for more information and to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA learn more about you and your home so they can tell if we’ll be a good match. Once approved, they’ll introduce you to my foster mom so we can meet.

Story
My name is Travey and I’m looking for my forever home! I’m just over 1 y.o. and I weigh 23 lbs. I came to my foster home in the Chicago area after I got loose, had a bit of a mis-adventure, and ended up in doggie jail. I haven't been at my foster home long, so I'm still adjusting. I love getting love and attention from foster mom and my favorite place to sleep is in bed with her! I'm super smart, eager to please, and learn quickly. I'm potty trained and do well in my crate when foster mom goes out (though I've been known to deploy the "Shiba scream" if I'm left all alone). I love treats, which helps motivate me to learn. I have mastered leash walking. I might pull if I see a squirrel or bunny that I want to chase (I've definitely got a high prey drive). I've also learned how to jump over gates that are supposed to contain me, so my forever family will need to be careful to prevent escapes. I'm a curious girl, but new things are hard for me. I'm suspicious of new people and will bark at them. I can be reactive to other dogs when I'm out on walks. I'll be fiercely loyal to my family and will need humans who have time to focus on me too. Because I did not have a great upbringing, I'll need a patient forever family who will commit to training and teaching me how to become a well-adjusted adult. My ideal forever home will be one with a securely fenced yard - no shared walls, since I can be vocal. I'd do best in a home with no cats or small pets, since I've got a high prey drive. I get along with most of the other dogs in my foster home, but can be dog-selective, so a laid-back, easy going dog friend would be best. Foster mom thinks I'd do okay with older children once I get to know them, but I'm not a good match for really little kids. I'm a healthy girl - spayed and vaccinated. I had giardia when I came into foster care, but am recovering nicely and feeling fine. If you live in the Midwest and are looking for a best friend and diamond in the rough, then I'm your girl. Visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA learn more about you to make sure we'll be a good match. Once approved, they'll introduce you to my foster mom so we can meet.
