Story
Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. Yet again here we are with the call was put out for the need from commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of Omaha. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. But despite where they lived & were going to be used to make money off their backs, they were all the most precious bundles of joy. His life was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. He was one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued Mr Lolly & 23 other baby dolls. Some of the babies we had to hand feed & give fluids too as some were ill from an infection. Mr Lolly was one of the lucky ones. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Mr Lolly how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as he is in his foster home. Mr Lolly & his friends were bought back to WA state where he is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. This little man has the hugest personality & at first when he arrived & his foster family would go to pick him up, he would run away & hide & scream when they picked him up. We believe someone would grab him originally & not be kind to him. Now when he sees his foster mum, he gets excited & wants her to pick him up. She has taught him to get kisses now with enthusiasm when he is picked up. When he plays with his foster siblings you can hear him running & playing & talking when chase them now with such joy. He is a funny little guy his foster mum said. He keeps himself busy & loves to play with toys. Mr Lolly though is a sensitive little soul, he got his second round of boosters at the vets & he was not happy nor impressed with getting his shots & was quite sore & sad after them so he is a gentle spirited guy. He is a great eater & not shy about eating. In his current foster home he eats clean. Meaning he eats, fruits, vegetables, grains & proteins & gets supplements. He is also being taught to go potty on maternal potty pads. But now in his current foster home he gets to be with other dogs & he runs & plays with them & loves to lay on them. Mr Lolly lets you pick him up & lets you give him kisses & hugs & enjoys it. This is Mr Lolly first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over his head that’s not outside. His foster mum said Mr Lolly is oh so very sweet, playful, & such a good boy. He loves his foster family very much. He is your typical lovable puppy who eats, plays, sleeps eats & poops & the cycle continues. He adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something he did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. He adores snuggling up with his foster siblings at bed time. His foster mum can always find him snuggled up on big blankets with his friends. He would still need work walking on his harness & leash because he is too young to go out in public on walks as he has not completed his shots. He does not discriminate against breeds & gets anyone to try to play with him. Mr Lolly rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when he went to be sold & when we got him & going home with his foster family & to & from the vets. Then with his new foster family he did amazing in the car with them. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lad only. He spent his first part of his life confined for potential breeding. If you put this boy into a crate, he will scream his head off! We are also looking for a forever home for Mr Lolly where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Mr Lolly is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & never give up on him. Mr Lolly has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & in his foster home & he is currently with other dogs in his foster home & adores other dogs. He absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take her to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. Mr Lolly is roughly 10 lbs & he is 8 months old & a shih poo. He has put on weight since being in his loving foster home. What he is mixed with we are not sure, male, he is neutered by laser by our wonderful vets, & he is microchipped, he is up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Mr Lolly with paying for him from a commercial breeder. Bringing him to WA with his travel/flight costs, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care in WA etc & bringing him to WA then his adoption fee comes close to covering. His adoption fee does not even cover half of what we have spent on Mr Lolly. Mr Lolly has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have him around small children in his foster home & he does amazing but we do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Mr Lolly was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Mr Lolly’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Mr Lolly potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Mr Lolly & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Mr Lolly who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this special sweet little lad. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Mr Lolly has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

Story
These darling, bonded buddies are sweet, funny and so charming! Charlie and Cody are a bonded pair of Poodle mixes, each weighing 12 lbs. Cody appears to be a poodle / Maltese and it looks like Charlie may also have some dachshund in the mix. Whatever they are, they are curly haired cuties that will keep you laughing with their antics. Charlie is about 8 years young. He is a silly boy that likes to talk to you. He also loves to wrestle and race through the backyard with Cody, and then he’ll come inside to roll around in his blankets til he finds just the right spot to take a nap. Sometimes he enjoys sleeping with his people and sometimes he’s grouchy so he prefers to sleep in his crate, always with the door open. Cody is about 3 years old. He is a very affectionate boy that prefers to always sleep with his people. Evening snuggles and belly rubs are required, too. He loves to play chase with Charlie, or he’ll grab a toy to toss and fetch. These darlings boys were found as strays in central Washington and were terribly neglected and in horrible condition. After they were shaved down, their adorable little faces emerged. And even though they also needed extensive vet care, their friendly, affectionate, happy little personalities also started to come through. Charlie had an injury that required his left eye to be removed. He also had an old injury to his jaw. Both are now very healthy pups that have also been neutered and fully vaccinated. They were very shy when first going into their first foster home, but within just a day, they were following their people around and asking for affection. They also were terrific with the other dogs in their foster home and would love to have another pooch in their pack. They love to spend their day running and playing with their foster siblings, and then it’s time to curl up together for a nap. At bedtime they will settle down in a crate together, but they prefer to sleep with their people. In their current foster home, they have learned even more inside manners. A retired couple would be just perfect for this sweet as can be pair. It’s time for them to find their forever home! They must have a fenced yard and their people must be experienced dog owners. As for kids, visiting grandchildren would be best. If you would like to meet this precious pair please email info@k9rr.org and include your phone number.  Thank you.April 26, 2024, 7:40 pm

Story
Hey there, future best friend! I'm a fluff-tastic Shih Tzu/Pekingese mix puppy with a heart full of wiggles and whisker waggles. They call me Zeus, and I'm on a mission to find a forever home filled with love and laughter. I'm a pint-sized ball of fur, ready to bring joy into your life. I have a bundle of energy and am always up for playtime and puppy shenanigans. But don't let my playful side fool you-I've got a heart as soft as my fluffy coat. Cuteness? Well, it's my superpower! With my soulful puppy eyes and irresistible charm, I'm here to melt your heart. Whether it's cuddles on the couch or zoomies in the backyard, I'm ready for it all. If you're searching for a charming, lovable, and utterly adorable companion to brighten your days, then look no further. I'm here, wagging my tail and waiting for the chance to become your loyal sidekick. Ready to make me a part of your family? Let the adventures begin! * Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
