Story
Cardamom has already proven she will do anything for the ones she loves. Before coming to rescue, Cardamom was kept outside year-round. During the bitter cold of winter, she gave birth to and raised three puppies outdoors. Somehow, thanks to her incredible devotion and survival instinct, all three puppies made it through. By the time she arrived here, every hair on her body was matted. Her coat was one solid tangle, so she had to be completely shaved to give her a fresh start. Her hair is still short right now, but it will grow back beautifully. At around 3 years old, Cardamom is a sweet Shih Tzu who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats. She has left her difficult past behind and is ready to enjoy the comfortable life she always deserved. After spending her life taking care of everyone else, it's finally Cardamom's turn to be the one who is loved and cared for. Good fit: someone looking for a sweet, gentle companion who gets along well with other pets and deserves a lifetime of comfort. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (neutered/spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $550 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ Think you might be a good fit? Pinto, shih tzu, 12 yo, 12.5 lb, male, neutered Pinto is an active 12-year-old shih tzu. He is very friendly with people and is thriving in a multi-dog household. He can use the dog door, was very well behaved at his grooming appointment. He enjoys the backyard, but will need secure fencing to keep him from exploring!  He is affectionate and playful, although he may need a little guidance in refreshing his household manners. He is a wonderful companion dog looking for his forever home. He is so cute both groomed and ungroomed that we provide both pictures :))  Adoption fee $200. Story
PRANCING PANDA This adorable little senior furball only wants two things: 1) to lay by your feet, and 2) to PRANCE across a grassy field! When Panda arrived, we thought she was just a frail, blind Shih Tzu. But with a healthy diet, lots of love, and daily walks, she's rediscovered her joy — and gets more tail-waggy every day. Panda is mostly blind and mostly deaf, but that doesn't stop her from staying glued to your side and happily trotting along in the yard or on walks. She's housebroken, quiet, docile, a great eater, and an even better sleeper (through the night, every night!). She's also a surprisingly fantastic leash walker. Panda is indifferent to other dogs and cats and isn't much of a player — though that could change with time and patience. Panda would thrive in a home looking for a chill cuddle buddy with yard or park access. She's not a match for an active household with young kids, and she needs daily eye drops for glaucoma. She may whine in her crate at first, but with a little crate training, she settles in and sleeps soundly on her own. If you want the joy of earning love by giving love, Panda is the galloping gal for you. Apply at eapl.com — adoption fee $375 August 23, 2026, 8:03 pm

Story
Milo is a one to two year old Shih Tzu (we are guessing) weighing about 7-8lbs.  Milo is sweet, cuddly guy who loves being around his people! He enjoys all kinds of toys and is especially good at playing fetch. He’s also a total shadow and will happily follow you wherever you go. Milo can sometimes get a little stubborn when he doesn’t want to be bothered, so he would do best with someone who understands his boundaries and can give him space when he asks for it - but will also work on sassyness and not let him get away with it.  Milo is a very loving, playful boy who has lots of affection to give and is as cute as a button.  His big personality will bring lots of laughs and will always make his humans smile.  He will need regular grooming appointments since he seems to be lower to non-shedding dog. If you are interested in adopting Milo, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2822547##

Story
Arnold is an adorable ball of cottony fluff that deserves the love and goodness of a great adopter with love in their hearts and an understanding that acclimation to a new life can take a bit of time. Our sweet Arnold has had a challenging time in his short life. Shelters are terrifying to a little guy who doesn't understand why he's in this terribly loud and scary place. A long transport from Houston to Boulder is equally so but worth everything to get Arnold to a safe and nurturing environment. Through all the changes, this pup has never shown an ounce of aggression or meanness. It's as if he knows that a far better life is waiting for him. At just about 2 years old and 25 lbs, Arnold is a perfect size for a retired couple or individual. He would thrive on the time and attention that this group often put into their doggy best friends. A younger individual that works from a home-based office (to cuddle Arnold periodically over the course of the day) would also be perfect for a little guy who is searching for love and acceptance in his life. With patience and without a time agenda, Arnold will emerge and slowly his fears will slip away as he bonds with his new family. Arnold, coming to understand that he is loved and cherished, will become a loyal and bonded guy knowing that his environment is a safe and nurturing one. Since every dog's basic nature is to be loving, once this guy blossoms, he'll fall deeply in love with his family and become a very loyal and bonded best friend. Our wish for Arnold is a family that understands, and is patient with a dog that has gone through challenges and unkindness in his life. Farfel's has made a commitment to this wonderful dog, as we do with all our rescues, that we'll search until we find a forever family that will love, nurture and commit to him for the remainder of his life. At this point in Arnold's development, he would love to be a full-time best friend, but will hold back a bit until he's sure that the recipient of his love is kind. If treated with patience during his acclimation to his new family and life, this sweet guy will absolutely shine. Farfel's will nurture a positive vision of the world by matching Arnold to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We'd like Arnold, when ready, to attend positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person obedience classes to be the very best dog he's capable of being. These classes develop very strong bonds between a family and their dog as well as teaching skills to enable that dog to socialize in the world with appropriate behavior. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both virtual and in-person positive reinforcement / force-free trainers in your area. Right now Arnold is a blank slate who, with guidance, will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. Arnold (once comfortable) is so loyal that he can easily be a constant companion. He would love nothing than backyard lounging and fun with his favorite people or just lap-sitting at the end of a busy day would be perfect for this very loving guy. Arnold will be flexible enough once comfortable that he can be introduced to virtually any situation, and if there is love and gentle guidance, he can succeed. Arnold, with his gorgeous, non-shedding or very lightly shedding coat will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition to keep his hair healthy and matte-free. There has been extensive new research that a human-grade, natural diet will provide a healthier (far fewer vet visits) and longer life for our best friends. Farfel's recommends Chi Diet (chidog.com) due to our personal experience with the health of our own dogs. We wish the same for every dog we rescue. Arnold has been fully vetted and vaccinated to support Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to be in line with our commitment to zero population growth in the canine community. Arnold will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 9/2/2026. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested in this cuddly and sweet as can be best friend, please fill out our application completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Arnold please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Shelton is guessed to be a 10+ yr old Shih Tzu mix. This sweet boy sadly came to us with his sister, Goldie, after their owner recently passed away and they had no where to go. They are very confused on why they went from a comfy home to a kennel in a rescue. They are very confused on why they went from a comfy home to a kennel in a rescue?? They are both 10+ yrs old, super SWEET, bonded, good with calm dogs, house trained and don’t require much but a warm home and a small yard area to explore. Goldie is partially deaf, and Shelton is partially blind, but neither lets that stop them from enjoying love, comfort, and companionship. Senior dogs have so much love to give, and deserve to spend their golden years in a warm, loving home instead of a shelter. 💕 🐾 Please consider these sweet seniors! They are waiting in Windsor.
