Story
Hello yawl, I am Susanna Mae. I am a 7-and-a-half-year-old Shih Tzu mix. I have been with  my foster Brian for about 7 months. When I first came to Street Paws I was very shy and unsure of what to think of my foster parents house. I seem to adapt pretty well and become very comfortable in my environment. I currently have 3 foster brothers and a sister. Even though I am tiny I can still handle my own with two dogs and a cat in the house. I have hypo thyroid and urinary crystals so I need lifelong medication and prescription CD dry dog food.  Adoptions are limited to an approximately 150-mile radius from Locust Grove, GA, certain circumstances may allow exceptions.  To apply to adopt this pet, please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at  https://form.jotform.com/232355976148163 The application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the pet and your family. We verify vet history on current/previous pets to ensure pets have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated annually. Please call your vet to give permission for us to call them. Our adoption fee is $300 They have been given age-appropriate vaccinations, are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested and treated, if necessary, dewormed, have received flea prevention, and are micro-chipped. We will ensure the microchip is registered. If more information is needed regarding the pet email info@streetpaws.org. You must complete the pre-application to obtain approval to meet the pet.April 23, 2024, 6:46 pm

Story
Jada is a very sweet, spunky dog. She loves to play but also relax. She likes to take walks and sit outside all day if she could. She’s also kinda funny whenever you do something that is out of the normal to her she will look at you a certain way that makes you laugh. I’ve had Jada since I was 2 years old. I am now 20. So, yes she is very old but she is worth it. She just wants to be loved and cared for. Unfortunately, I cannot keep her because my mother is now disabled and I have a job that doesn’t allow me to be home all the time. So, no one would properly take care of her and give her the attention she needs. You’re probably wondering okay so I how do I take care of my mom. My brother and I visit her and she has a nurse who comes and checks in on her. But, no one is there 24/7.

Take him on a walk, a doggie day out, and home!!!Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. In order to adopt one of our animals an application must be submitted and approved. You can find these applications by going to http://humanemorgan.org/index.php?page=adoption ABOUT ADOPTING FROM THE HSMC: The shelter address is 1170 Fairground Rd. Madison, GA 30650. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are FeLv/FIV negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line. Story
Bonded to her sister DD  Sammie and DD found themselves homeless and were forced to live outside. They're safe now in a foster home and they're ready for a permanent place to live.   Sammie is a 4yo Shih-Tzu and weighs 9 pounds.  DD is a 7-yo Yorkie and weighs 11 pounds.  They are very attached to each other. They are absolute cuddle bugs and if you’re a couch potato, these could be the dogs for you.  They are working on potty training and doing great but they do still have pee accidents in the house if they don’t have a chance to go out. They need a very consistent routine where they are taken out every 2 hours as they continue to be potty trained. They will occasionally use a pee pad inside. Continued house training will need to be a priority in their new home. They love toys and DD carries one in her mouth most of the time. They are yappy little dogs.    Sammie really wants to be a baby and have a mama that will hold her and snuggle all the time.  She’ll sit on your lap for hours while you work.  She seems to bond with the woman in the family that cares for her. In order for a man or another person in the house to bond with her, they will need to put in a lot of work holding her, petting her and being patient. It takes a lot of time for her to be ok with other people that she is not bonded with, and she will bark at anyone she isn't bonded with every time she sees them.  This requires patience.  DD barks to say hello to everyone and Sammie barks to say stay away.  They are good with cats and other dogs. They romp and play with each other and have a blast. A retired person or someone that is home a lot is the perfect fit for them.  They are crate trained, spayed, heartworm negative and current on their vaccines. Sammie is afraid of fast movements so a home with children of any age is not ideal for her.   Training: Crate- and potty pad trained; working on potty outside Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative Contact: doggieharmonyatlanta@gmail.com (Amy) We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.April 24, 2024, 8:29 am
