Story
Let’s play pretend! Remember when we used to play house when we were kids? So, pretend you get to be the parent and you live in a comfortable place. And we’ll pretend that you have two little baby girls that you get to take care of – and we’ll say they’re sisters. The older “sister” is Mia, and the younger “sister” is Rosie. But they’re both just babies. These are the kind of babies that you can talk to and coo at and hold and snuggle all day long if you want. Sometimes you can play with them or go outside, but mostly, you just get to love on the two little baby girls all the time. Sound like a fun make-believe world? What if we told you that we can stop pretending and make this story true? You definitely can turn it into reality! The babies are actually doggies, but they are still “sisters” named Mia and Rosie. Mia is a 10-year-old Jack Russell Terrier type, and Rosie is a 3-year-old Boston Terrier. They both weigh under 20 pounds. Both girls have wonderful temperaments and connect with people immediately, full of tail wags and even kisses if you like. They are content around the house, where they love to lay around either on people’s laps or on the comfy beds, chairs and couches. They get excited for walks and do well on the leash, and they have playful spurts together each day. But most of their time is spent appreciating their people and all the soft, warm, cozy spots. They get along well with other dogs and with all ages of people. They have great manners and follow directions, and both are house trained. No imagination required: Mia and Rosie can be your very own sweet baby girls! They are spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, and their adoption fee is $225. Both ladies will come to you current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Snuggle & loves, oops we mean meet & greets, will be scheduled with approved adopters from PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
Approx. DOB:  7/3/23                Approx Weight: 9.68 Lbs. Adoption Fee: $300 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Meet Big Red Don’t let the name fool you — he’s called Big Red, and while he may be small in size, he’s absolutely huge in heart! Big Red is an almost 3-year-old Shih Tzu (he turns three in July!) weighing just under 10 pounds of pure sweetness. This little guy may be small, but his gentle spirit is something truly special. Big Red was released by a breeder who said he was “too timid” — but we see something very different. We see a sensitive, tender-hearted boy who just needed kindness, patience, and a safe place to land. He absolutely loves other dogs and truly thrives around them — especially little dogs he can play and explore with. Having a confident canine buddy (or two!) in his forever home is a must. Other dogs help him feel safe, teach him the ropes, and bring out his happiest, most playful self. One of Big Red’s favorite things to do is putter around in the backyard, sniffing and exploring every corner. A securely fenced yard is important for him so he can safely enjoy his curious little adventures. Big Red is crate trained and doing very well with housetraining when kept on a consistent schedule. He will need continued patience and routine as he masters this skill in his new home. He is still shy with people, but he is so close to a breakthrough. His foster mom says that when you talk sweetly to him, his tail starts wagging and his whole back end wiggles with happiness. It’s the most heart-melting thing to see. With gentle encouragement and time, he is going to blossom into an incredibly devoted companion. When Big Red arrived in rescue, he was severely matted and needed a full shave-down. His coat is currently short, but as a Shih Tzu he will require professional grooming every 4–6 weeks to keep him comfortable and looking his best. He was neutered and had a dental at that time, and he did lose a few teeth — but he is feeling so much better now! Big Red would do best in: A home with another small dog (or dogs) A securely fenced yard A patient, gentle family willing to let him build confidence at his own pace A quieter home environment where he can continue to blossom With a little love and understanding, Big Red is going to make an incredibly rewarding addition to a very lucky family. Watching him gain confidence is truly magical — and his forever family will get to be part of that beautiful journey. I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
