Story

Meet Flip!! Flippy is 2 years old and 17lbs. He’s a Shih Tzu who’s had a fresh groom and he’s ready to be adored. Flip is just fine with dogs and would also be just fine without. He’s great with people (and actually loves men). His prior owner was unable to care for him and made the tough decision to surrender. He’s been loved and wants loves! Flip has always had a yard and requires a fence. He has a difficult time with a leash at the moment (it’s a work in progress!). While he works on his comfort with the leash, he would benefit from a fence yard. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter. Story

Jacob is very friendly and loveable. He is a good dog. His owner had him from a puppy until recently when I agreed to keep him because she was no longer able to take care of him. I am holding him to find him a good home. He is 7 years old but still very active and no health issues. He is good with children and other pets.

Story

Mustard is a sweet older gentleman who believes life is best enjoyed at a slower pace. This calm little guy is pretty much a professional couch potato—give him a comfy spot to curl up and he’s perfectly content! Mustard is visually impaired and needs daily eye drops for dry eye, but he gets around and enjoys life just fine. He does best with a calm routine and gentle handling, as fast movements can make him nervous. He is good with other dogs, especially when they respect his slower pace and personal space. Mustard is pee-pad trained and will also potty outside when taken out on a leash. He hasn’t quite learned how to let you know when he needs to go outside yet, so his new family will need to keep him on a consistent routine. Mustard isn’t looking for a busy, action-packed life. He’s looking for a soft couch, a peaceful home, and someone who will love and spoil him through his golden years. Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story

Meet “The Beav”, or Theodore from the “Leave it to Beaver” group he is about 12 weeks old and is thought to be a Yorkie Shi-Tzu mix. He is a super sweet boy! He likes to lounge around, play with toys, and just kind of take everything in. This little guy does have a special need. It appears that he is deaf so he will have to have a special home that has a fenced in yard because he does not come when he’s called. He does a great job of looking for you and following people or following the other dogs, but he does not seem to hear. Even though he has this special consideration, he is the best little guy ever, we just think he’s adorable! These boys are going to be on the small side. They have had their first puppy shots, have been wormed and are on flea and tick preventative. If interested, or know someone that might be please share so we can find these boys their forever home. You can fill out an application at strayhaven pets.org. Thank you! The adoption fee for puppies under 6 months of age is $265. If the puppy is too young or small to be fixed there will be a $75 spay/neuter rebate form provided. They currently have at least 1 puppy shot,, flea preventative, heartworm preventative and are microchipped with lifetime registration ($13). If you have serious interest in this puppy, please fill out an application (don't call, email or text before filling out an app or you will have a greater chance of missing out on this puppy).
