Story
Meet Milly — a 2-year-old Shih Tzu/Yorkie ready for a brand-new life 💕 Milly’s past wasn’t kind to her. She was used for breeding and nearly lost her life during her final litter. Thankfully, she was surrendered so she can finally have the safe, loving future she deserves—no more litters, no more stress, just a chance to be someone’s cherished companion. Now that she’s settling into real home life, Milly has shown herself to be spunky, clever, and deeply loyal. She loves being near her preferred human and usually chooses the floor right beside them or a comfy mat nearby. Puffy or deep beds aren’t her thing. Because a home routine is new to this girl, she is still getting the hang of potty training. She will need consistency and routine in her new home. Once she’s comfortable in her environment, Milly enjoys playing with small plush toys, especially crinkly ones, and will happily entertain herself. She’s also a bit of a watchdog—vocal enough to alert you to deliveries or dogs passing by, but not an excessive barker. Milly is a messy eater, leaving adorable little kibble crumbs behind, and she’ll quietly observe during human mealtimes without begging. When it comes to treats, small, soft treats are her favorite. She is crate trained and views her crate as a safe space. Milly enjoys walks, though she does pull on leash and may do best with a harness. Outside, she is in full “nose-to-the-ground, let’s explore” mode, and she takes care of her business quickly. She zooms up stairs but is hesitant with wooden stairs going down. Milly is very affectionate with people—kisses included—but isn’t currently a fan of cats. Quick and bunny-like, she tends to chase and vocalize at them, though with patience and training she may improve since she’s such a smart girl. Milly is ready to leave her past behind and start her next chapter with someone who will love her for the joyful, quirky little companion she is. 💗 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
ChrissySnow is a 3 y/o Shih/Poo(?) weighing about 12 lbs available for adoption with Pawsitive Tails Dog Rescue. She's house-trained, good with people (loves kids), not a fan of cats. Chrissy needs a fenced yard (no leash walks for her). She loves to snuggle with her person and is always up for playtime. Remember: she will need to be professionally groomed every 2 months ($$) and tip your groomer well because she's a wiggle worm. Now for the hard stuff: ChrissySnow is a bully when she initially meets new dogs (no leash walks for her). In a few hours, she's playing chase and running zoomies through the yard with those same dogs. 98% of the time ChrissySnow is A-OK with other dogs; 2% of the time she's a bully. It's all noise and ego, but she will bully other dogs in the home. Because of that, we're going to say no kids under 16. Now let's talk about separation anxiety: ChrissySnow has exhibited separation anxiety by climbing childgates, trying to bust out of a crate, and being vocal (no shared walls for her). She has not shown those behaviors in the foster home (where there are other dogs). Why does ChrissySnow have separation anxiety as an only dog vs in a multi-dog foster home? Maybe she simply doesn't care about being separated from foster mom? Or maybe the other dogs help her not feel so anxious? 🤷 We have quite the conundrum: she bullies other dogs, but might do best with a dog buddy in the home. ChrissySnow needs a dog-savvy adopter who can manage her behaviors and keep her safe from herself. Local adopters only. Interested? Submit an app www.pawsitivetailskc.org

Story
Betty is 1 year and 5 month old, and she’s full grown at 15 pounds. She’s a funny, playful, sassy, and loving little dog who will keep you smiling. Betty loves to play fetch and enjoys spending time with other dogs — she’s been going to doggy daycare every week since she was 3 months old, so she’s very well socialized. She is mostly potty trained: she knows to go outside, but she still needs some consistency and patience to fully learn to hold it indoors. Betty is kennel trained — she sleeps in her kennel at night and stays in it while I’m not home. She does very well in her kennel, rarely whines, and never has accidents in it. Betty would do best in a home with someone who has the patience to finish her potty training and the time to give her the love and attention she deserves. A fenced yard would be wonderful (though not required), and she needs a family who won’t leave her alone for more than 8–9 hours a day.
