Story
**MEET ME AT OUR 5/3 EVENT IN WESTFORD, MA!**Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: YesGood with kids: YesCrate trained: Mostly House Trained: Yes Weighing in at a whopping 12 lbs., Champ is a pint-sized puppy with a personality the size of a Great Dane. This sweet and amusing boy loves to frolic and have fun but also knows how to chill. He'll happily lay in your lap for hours, and when he's not in full relaxation mode, he enjoys long walks and playtime. Champ is constantly channeling his inner rock star and is looking for a cool family to jam out with! Champ was fostered with 10 dogs of various shapes and sizes and got along swimmingly with all, sparking a special bond with his foster’s male Chihuahua. He takes other dogs’ cues like a “Champ” and knows when to slow his roll. As for cats, a meet and greet was set up with a neighbor and he was completely unfazed by their presence. Champ gave them a couple of sniffs and then ran off to play with the neighbor’s kids. Speaking of kids, he just loves ‘em. He eats up all the attention and pats and would make a great companion for a home with kiddos. Champ is a superstar and comes fully house-trained. He is great in a crate but had a mostly open-door policy, frequently coming and going on his own. Champ loves long walks and is a pro on the leash. His true talent is his ability to bring boundless joy with every wag of his tail.  Are you ready to rock out with Champ? Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.lasthopek9.org. Story
Joy came into our lives five years ago as a Christmas gift from a dear family friend — a tiny, fluffy Shih Tzu full of quiet charm. She’s now 5 years old, about 15 lbs., and true to her name, she’s brought nothing but joy to our home. Joy is calm, gentle, and loves to sit by the window watching the world go by. She enjoys soft play and being close to her people. With our family’s increasingly busy schedule, we’ve made the difficult decision to rehome her. She deserves more time and attention than we can give right now. We’re looking for a loving home where she can enjoy a calm environment, regular companionship, and plenty of cozy window-watching time. Joy has been a gift to us — we hope she can be the same for someone new.

Story
Meet Louie! This 7 year old guy is as cute as can be and is certainly ready to finally find his forever home! This is especially true considering that this guy has been previously owned by multiple people, all who could not keep him due to life circumstances. Possibly because he`s never had a consistent home where he can feel safe and comfortable, Louie has some behavioral quirks that are important to know about for any potential adopters. Louie can be nervous around unfamiliar people, and has been known to bark or growl, especially toward unfamiliar men. He`s also not a fan of anything that moves toward him too quickly, and that includes joggers, as well anyone who reaches their hands toward him too quickly. It is because of behavioral quirks like these that Louie is considered a special needs adoption. He`s the type of guy who will thrive with someone who is willing to go slow and be gentle when getting to know him. He also needs to go to a home without children; anyone over 18 is fine. All that considering, Louie is a super fun guy, and it`s hard to keep your heart from melting when he snuggles into your lap, or does one of his entertaining tricks! You`ll sometimes see Louie walking on two feet, with his two little front legs bobbing up and down in the air! He brightens everyone`s day here with his upbeat, silly personality, and we`re sure he would do the same for you!Louie is currently able to meet by appointment only, so if you`re interested in him, please submit an application at capeannanimalaid.org/dogapp
