Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.found abandoned in the HEB parking lotMy name is Skittles and my foster mom found me abandoned in a HEB parking lot one day.  She asked around and people had been feeding me for a couple of years!  Once she caught me, she found out I ws microchipped, but when she located my owners, they had moved...and had left me behind.  So, being a cat, I found my way to HEB and relied on kind humans to feed me.  It took a while for me to trust my foster mom, and I'm still jump if you try to pet me too quickly.  Apparently, I wasn't treated all that great.Anyways, I think I'm ready to trust another human now.  I do get along with cats, but little children would probably make me nervous.  And my foster mom doesn't know about dogs since we don't have any here.  It'd be great if I could have my own family again, but I might take some tender, loving care at first.  Through my foster family, I've found out humans can be good....and a forever home would be awesome!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 13, 2024, 11:10 pm

Story
Likes to be pet but only for short periods of time before he tends to start getting irritated. Recently he has discovered that he likes sitting in laps, but he is very insistent about wanting attention. Doesn't get along with most of the other cats and prefers to keep to himself, so we recommend him for single cat/pet homes.

Story
Solo lives by his name..he would love to be in a home where he is the solo cat. He is a very vocal, affectionate cat. He does love to chew those phone charging cables, so you will have to put a mesh around them or hide them from him. We are sad to have to rehome Solo yet after 4yrs of him not being able to get along with our other feline family we need to find him a loving home. You will find him skiddish at first but if you just talk to him he will come around and he loves to talk back, rub against you, and let you know he loves you. He loves to play and currently does a great rabbit trick with his back feet off the walls. He is fully litter-trained and does not scratch anything but his scratching post. He will also sit for a pedicure. We do not have children so all I know is that when the company comes over he will hide for a few then come around and check out who arrived. Not currently a lap cat but believe if he is the only cat around he would love to cuddle in your lap.

Story
Mel (a.k.a. Mellie, Meller Time & Marshall Mellow) is the cat who was born with a silver mouse in his mouth. His singsong trilling and stunning movie star good looks ensured he was voted "best looking" and "most likely to succeed" in high school. Yep, he was one of the cool cats in town. With his charisma and charm, who wouldn't fall head over heels for him? Mel's a lap cat, but only when he feels like it. If you're lucky enough to have him grace your lap, just make sure you're not too needy or grabby or you'll end up on the receiving end of his squinty-eyed disapproval. And trust me, when Mel recoils from you, he does it with such finesse that you'll feel like a complete fool for even trying. He’ll let you know when it’s time to hang out. When he starts ankle sharking, that’s one of your cues to participate. But remember, it's always on his terms. Mel's pretty easy going with other cats, but don't mistake his peaceful demeanor for weakness. He's all about "peace through strength" and he'll maintain the harmony with his attitude. He’s even tolerant of dogs … If they behave themselves. Even though Mel is starting to mature in cat years, he’s still quite playful. He enjoys wand toys, catnip toys, balls and sometimes he even gets the zoomies … Always maintaining his dignity while doing so, of course. He's the total package and he knows it. It's Mellie's world and we're all just living in it. Rescue background: Mel’s rescuer started feeding a young female feral cat she had just TNR’d. Right away Mel started showing up at every feeding. Turns out, Mel and the little female cat were good buddies. Before long they both became residents of the rescuer’s yard. Over time the rescuer discovered Mel is very comfortable indoors. He was already ear-tipped when found, so someone else had TNR’d him, but Mel was always friendly and was clearly an inside cat at some point in his life. Are you ready to welcome Mel into your heart and home?

Story
She was found on college campus May '22. She is about 2 1/2 years old. Her birthday is early march. She loves to play with her little stuff animals LOVES looking out windows and can be sitting there all day Loves to make biscuits with her nails (has to be asleep or drugged to cut nails or she will fight) needs a good scratching post Knows how to use litter box but tracks litter sometimes She does have anxiety and likes to hide sometimes until she feel comfortable with who is in the room. But she will run away at loud noises not scared of thunder yes drop a loud pot. She does NOT get along with other dogs or cats. Affectionate when she feels like. She will come to you for cuddles but if you try to cuddle her she will run away. Her old owner has gone into the army and I can't take care of her much longer. But she really is a sweetheart and will make you laugh if you let her. She doesnt like little kids but can hang out with teenagers. She will let you pick her up but doesnt like it.

Story
Hello, I’m Moonlight. A day in my life is a simple one. I wake up, stretch, and explore my surroundings. I’m smart, you see, always curious about the world around me. When I’m not exploring, I’m mellowing out, enjoying the calm. I’m a gentle soul, preferring a soft touch to rough play. I’m friendly too, always ready to make new friends, but I’m also independent. I enjoy my time alone as much as I do company. What I love most, though, is cuddling. There’s nothing quite like the warmth of someone else. I’m sweet; I promise. I’ve got a lot of love to give, and I’m hoping to find someone who can give me the same. If you’re looking for a smart, friendly, independent, and cuddly companion, I could be the one for you. Moonlight is on Purina UR Prescription Food and will continue to need it after adoption. For more information, contact Texas Animal Society at info@TexasAnimalSociety.com.Interested in adopting a companion cat from Texas Animal Society? Please email info@texasanimalsociety.com and complete online adoption application at texasanimalsociety.orgCome visit our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/www.texasanimalsociety.org/
