Story
Meet Snow! This 2-year-old Standard Poodle weighs 65 lbs. Snow is an extremely friendly guy who, if he could talk, would strike up a conversation with each person he comes into contact with.
General Behavior: Snow is a very outgoing boy with a huge personality! He's loving, affectionate, smart, and has something about him that will just make you laugh each time you're in his presence.
Likes & Dislikes: Silly Snow loves to be near his humans, following them around the house before they settle so he can get snuggles. He enjoys playing with his toys and canine pals, as well as going for walks around the neighborhood.
Training: This happy boy has been showing off his training skills in his foster home. While he is quite large and is not always aware of his size, he quickly listens when told 'no' and is working on establishing boundaries. He knows basic commands such as sit, come, and off. He does well with his housetraining when let out frequently and on a schedule. He loves his walks very much and is working on being a bit more gentleman-like when on the leash.
Medical: Snow is a healthy guy and just requires his monthly heartworm and flea preventative like any other dog.
Other Animals: Snow loves to play with other large, playful dogs. He would thrive in a home with another canine companion. He interacts well with cats and would do well in a home with them.
Children: Due to his large size, Snow will require a home without small children that could easily be knocked down. While Snow is working on his boundaries, he will require a home with older children (8+) that can handle his strength.
Home: A single-family home or dog-friendly apartment living would be perfect for Snow! He will require an active family that can provide him with the activity and stimulation that he requires. Running, playing, and chasing after toys is a daily must for him! He will require a home with another pooch or a human that is home more often than not to keep him company.
Grooming: As a Standard Poodle, Snow will require a trip to the grooming spa every 6-8 weeks to keep his coat in tip-top shape. The cost of grooming for a pup of his breed and size is approximately $85+. Any potential applicants should be aware of this recurring expense.
