Chloe-White Standard Poodle DOB 5-2-25 (Sept. 2026) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. Chloe came to the Rescue through the Prison Training Program. She was an owner surrender a couple months ago, when her prior owners life 'fell apart'. They could no longer care for her and asked the Trainer at the Prison Program to help her find a home. She's been learning basic obedience at the Prison for a month now. Ready to move into a forever home. She's good with other dogs and like people, although has a preference for women, it seems. She's not a candidate for a home with cats, as she has a high prey drive, which is typical of her breed. She has not lived with small children either. Motherly Millie has spent most of her life being someone's 'Mother' over and over again for no reason except to make money for an insensitive owner. Now, just four months after her last of many litter, she is finally getting the chance to discover what it feels like to simply be someone's beloved dog. Millie is a beautiful, white, 58 pound Standard Poodle who was purchased as a puppy to be a breeding mother. For the past five years, she lived outdoors with her canine companions and raised litter after litter of puppies producing income for the owner. No love shown to Millie...just expectations to 'produce and perform' her duty as a mother dog. Her last babies were born just four months ago, so Millie is still very much a girl who has spent her life giving everything she had to caring for others. Now, her life is changing. When Millie was surrendered, Critter Cavalry was proud to step in and promised to help her find the kind of home she has never known — a real home where she can come inside, be part of a family, be loved for who she is, and finally have someone take care of her. This sweet girl has so much to offer in return for being a part of. Millie is incredibly affectionate and loves people and children. She has gotten along well with her canine companions and has a gentle, friendly nature that makes it easy to see how much she wants to connect with people. She is the kind of dog who is discovering that attention, affection and companionship can be pretty wonderful things. Millie has never had the opportunity to learn all the things an indoor dog knows, so her new family will need to give her some patience as she learns about house manners and a new routine. The good news is that she has already shown us something encouraging — while boarding, Millie has kept her kennel clean. With consistency, patience and a predictable routine, we expect her natural Poodle intelligence to help her catch on quickly. There is something especially touching about watching a dog like Millie experience ordinary things for the first time — a cozy bed, being invited onto the couch, following her person from room to room, learning that she doesn't have to spend her days outside, and realizing that this time, she isn't here to raise puppies. Because of that, adopters should expect Ruger to be a little shy and sensitive at first. Moving into a new home, meeting new people and learning a whole new routine is a big change for a boy who hasn’t always had the chance to experience the world in a safe and secure way. Meet Ginny Lynn — a sweet little girl who is still learning that being someone’s dog is a pretty wonderful thing. â¤ï¸ Ginny Lynn is a 45 pound, one-year-old Poodle mix who, along with her 2 brothers, was abandoned when a tenant left them and her grey Poodle dad, behind at a cabin in the woods. They were actually all 4 left in crates and had to wait to be discovered and rescued many days later. They had known both indoor and outdoor life before that, but suddenly being left behind like that was a pretty confusing and scary experience for these pups. So, it’s no surprise that Ginny can be a little sensitive when everything around her is new. She may not be the one who marches through the door on day one like she owns the place. She’s more of a “let me look around, figure this out and make sure everything is okay” kind of girl. And honestly, once she decides everything really is okay, she is pretty amazing and sweet. She has been living in a house now and is doing well. She is discovering the joys of being comfortable, having a soft place to curl up and getting to spend his days around people. She’s learning that a house isn’t something to be unsure of—it’s where the good stuff happens. Ginny Lynn is smart, loving and eager to learn. She just needs someone who understands that confidence doesn't always happen overnight. Presley, named after Pricilla Presley, is a 14 week old labradoodle who is full of love, life, and that wonderful puppy energy. Her personality seems to bring out the best of both breeds - playful, affectionate, intelligent, and eager to be part of your life. She loves to play tug-of-war, chase and retrieve a ball, and pounce on her squeaky toys. When playtime is over, Presley is just as happy cuddling in your arms and falling asleep in your lap. She has a wonderfully affectionate nature and loves being close to her people. One of the things that makes Presley especially unique is how quiet she is. She settles beautifully and doesn't need to be constantly entertained. Presley does extremely well in her crate and is making progress with her housebreaking. She is learning her name and the word "no", and she already has an adorable response to a simple signal: purse your lips, make a 'kiss' sound, and she comes running - literally! She is good with other dogs and is learning how to be a happy, well-mannered member of the family. Presley is still very much a puppy, so she will need someone who understands that raising a young dog takes patience, consistency, training, and lots of love.
