Story
Finn is a 3-year-old, 50 lb merle Poodle mix who is every bit as handsome as he is sweet. He was brought to the shelter alongside several other Poodle mixes covered in dirty, severely matted fur. Much of his coat had to be shaved off, but we know those curls will be growing back in no time, and his foster mom is already completely obsessed with this good-looking guy! And Finn’s first night in foster? Literally could not have been easier. He went potty outside, settled into his crate around 11 PM with just one bark, slept quietly through the entire night, and waited until morning to go outside again. No accidents! Now that he’s getting comfortable, his personality is starting to shine. Finn has begun playing with stuffed toys, but his absolute favorite thing is a blanket, he loves carrying one around and holding it in his mouth. He’s a total Velcro dog who just wants to be near his people, happily says hello to everyone he meets on walks, and seems to have a special love for little dogs. Finn has plenty of fun, puppy-like energy and LOVES his walks through Central Park. He even gets the zoomies and looks like he wants to join the runners, so we think he could make an amazing  adventure buddy! After a good 2-3 mile walk, though, he’s perfectly happy to pass out for a couple of hours. He’s also one smart (and hilariously particular) boy. He can somehow find a pill hidden in just about anything, and when dinner is served, he’ll meticulously pick out the good stuff and leave individual pieces of kibble behind.  His foster mom describes him best: “He’s an absolute gentle giant, and if it were the right time for me to adopt, I would pick Finn in a heartbeat, and I’m picky, so that says a lot!” Finn has already shown us what an incredibly loving, easygoing and special dog he is. Now this handsome boy just needs the forever home that gets to call him theirs. He is great with dogs, had interacted fine in his cat test at the shelter (wanted to play and nudge and sometimes lost interest) and was vetted and neutred at the shelter.  ##2812769##

Story
Reese is a 6-7 year old Poodle mix and a textbook lap dog, she just happens to weigh 62 pounds! If there’s a lap available, she’ll happily climb into it, and if there’s even the tiniest bit of space next to you, she’ll find a way to squeeze herself in. Reese came to us with several other Poodle mixes in desperate need of grooming, and years of matting meant most of her coat had to go. Her curls are already starting their comeback, but Reese’s best feature is easily her personality. She is gentle, affectionate, social and completely devoted to her people. A good cuddle can be even more rewarding to her than a treat, and wherever her people are, Reese would like to be there too. She has moderate energy and loves going for walks, sniffing, exploring and meeting new people. She is curious and friendly with other dogs she encounters and has been calm and friendly around children. Reese appears to be fully house trained and goes outside for all of her bathroom needs. She is generally good on leash, knows “sit” and “hand,” and her playful side is starting to emerge as she discovers toys and simple toss games. Reese is still working on crate training and becoming more comfortable when left alone. Her ideal home is a loving household that wants a true companion to be part of everyday life! She is very eager to be someone’s devoted 62 pound shadow. ##2812773##

Story
Winston is a big fluffy happy high energy boy! He is very sweet, loves hard and plays hard. Winston cannot go to a home with kids due to his mouthy form of play. There is no aggression just overly excited. He does know a few basic commands and takes treats very nicely. He does need some basic training especially on leash, he pulls and crisscross in front of you while walking. He can be very reactive to strangers when out walking as well. All that aside his personality is fantastic. He is an oversized puppy at heart and loves every person he meets.
