He loves to be outside and running, will need a home that has a back yard. Quick has a growth but the vet believes that since it hasn't grown it is a fatty lump. Quick is good with Kids, Dogs and Cats. We have removed the growth on his face and it was biopsied and it is benign. He is ready for his forever home. Finn is a 3-year-old, 50 lb merle Poodle mix who is every bit as handsome as he is sweet. He was brought to the shelter alongside several other Poodle mixes covered in dirty, severely matted fur. Much of his coat had to be shaved off, but we know those curls will be growing back in no time, and his foster mom is already completely obsessed with this good-looking guy! And Finn’s first night in foster? Literally could not have been easier. He went potty outside, settled into his crate around 11 PM with just one bark, slept quietly through the entire night, and waited until morning to go outside again. No accidents! Now that he’s getting comfortable, his personality is starting to shine. Finn has begun playing with stuffed toys, but his absolute favorite thing is a blanket, he loves carrying one around and holding it in his mouth. He’s a total Velcro dog who just wants to be near his people, happily says hello to everyone he meets on walks, and seems to have a special love for little dogs. Finn has plenty of fun, puppy-like energy and LOVES his walks through Central Park. He even gets the zoomies and looks like he wants to join the runners, so we think he could make an amazing adventure buddy! After a good 2-3 mile walk, though, he’s perfectly happy to pass out for a couple of hours. He’s also one smart (and hilariously particular) boy. He can somehow find a pill hidden in just about anything, and when dinner is served, he’ll meticulously pick out the good stuff and leave individual pieces of kibble behind. His foster mom describes him best: “He’s an absolute gentle giant, and if it were the right time for me to adopt, I would pick Finn in a heartbeat, and I’m picky, so that says a lot!” Finn has already shown us what an incredibly loving, easygoing and special dog he is. Now this handsome boy just needs the forever home that gets to call him theirs. He is great with dogs, had interacted fine in his cat test at the shelter (wanted to play and nudge and sometimes lost interest) and was vetted and neutred at the shelter. ##2812769##

Reese is a 6-7 year-old, 55 lb Poodle mix and, according to her foster, an absolute gem. She came to us with several other Poodle mixes in desperate need of grooming, and years of matting meant most of her coat had to go. Luckily, the groomers were able to save the sweetest little curls around her face, and we have a feeling she’s going to be quite the fluffy showstopper once the rest grows back. But Reese’s best feature is easily her personality. She is affectionate, gentle and devoted to her people. She wants to be touching you at all times and will happily squeeze herself into a spot that makes absolutely no sense if it means she can be a little closer. Personal space is simply not part of Reese’s love language. She’s social, too. Reese wants to say hello to everyone she passes outside, both people and dogs, and has been getting along wonderfully with her foster’s resident dog. She hasn’t completely figured out the whole “playing” thing yet, but she very much wants to be part of whatever everyone else is doing. Reese is still settling into home life and working on feeling comfortable in her crate and spending short periods of time on her own. 🐾 **Songi & Paengi – A Second Chance at the Life They Deserve** 🐾 Songi and Paengi's story began with heartbreak, but we're hoping it ends with love. Their former owner, a man, disappeared for reasons unknown, leaving both dogs behind. They were eventually discovered abandoned in the home, neglected and struggling to survive. When the owner's mother visited after receiving complaints from neighbors about constant barking, she found the house in terrible condition and the dogs severely neglected. Before contacting a shelter, she sold both dogs to a pet shop. When we learned about their situation, we knew we couldn't leave them there. We paid the pet shop to bring them into our care because both girls were unspayed, and we feared they could end up being used for breeding. Today, Songi and Paengi are safe at a private rescue center in Korea and have made an incredible recovery, both physically and emotionally. When they arrived, they were dangerously underweight. They suffered from severe diarrhea, excessive eye discharge, and badly matted coats. Despite everything they had endured, neither dog lost her gentle spirit. Both girls are sweet, affectionate, and incredibly loving with people. They enjoy the company of other dogs and have adapted beautifully to life in the rescue center. While they have never been introduced to cats, we do not expect them to show aggression toward them. Songi and Paengi share a special bond, and it would be wonderful if they could be adopted together. However, we understand that isn't always possible, and we are also open to finding them separate homes if the right families come along.
