Story
Meet Richard! This handsome 1-year-old mixed breed is a friendly, curious little guy who seems happiest when he’s out exploring and spending time with people. He enjoys walks, does nicely on leash, and likes to check out his surroundings. Once he’s comfortable, Richard is happy to climb into your lap and soak up some love. Richard can be a little unsure at first in new or busy situations, but he settles in well when given a chance to take things at his own pace. He responds well to guidance and is quick to recover when something surprises him. He may benefit from some basic training and a family willing to help him continue building confidence and good habits. Richard also showed interest in other dogs and may enjoy sharing his home with another small, playful dog. His evaluation suggests he could also do well with children, making him a great possibility for many different types of homes. Richard is an active little dog, so he’d be happiest with a family that enjoys walks, playtime, and including him in their daily routine. With a little patience, structure, and plenty of affection, we think Richard will make a wonderful companion. To complete an online adoption questionnaire, visit our website: www.HamiltonNJ.com/AnimalShelterTo see other available animals: https://www.hamiltonnj.com/173/Pets-Available-for-AdoptionHamilton Township Animal Shelter cannot offer any guarantees on the age, health, temperament, personality or mental disposition of any pet. Story
🐾 **Songi & Paengi – A Second Chance at the Life They Deserve** 🐾 Songi and Paengi's story began with heartbreak, but we're hoping it ends with love. Their former owner, a man, disappeared for reasons unknown, leaving both dogs behind. They were eventually discovered abandoned in the home, neglected and struggling to survive. When the owner's mother visited after receiving complaints from neighbors about constant barking, she found the house in terrible condition and the dogs severely neglected. Before contacting a shelter, she sold both dogs to a pet shop. When we learned about their situation, we knew we couldn't leave them there. We paid the pet shop to bring them into our care because both girls were unspayed, and we feared they could end up being used for breeding. Today, Songi and Paengi are safe at a private rescue center in Korea and have made an incredible recovery, both physically and emotionally. When they arrived, they were dangerously underweight. They suffered from severe diarrhea, excessive eye discharge, and badly matted coats. Despite everything they had endured, neither dog lost her gentle spirit. Both girls are sweet, affectionate, and incredibly loving with people. They enjoy the company of other dogs and have adapted beautifully to life in the rescue center. While they have never been introduced to cats, we do not expect them to show aggression toward them. Songi and Paengi share a special bond, and it would be wonderful if they could be adopted together. However, we understand that isn't always possible, and we are also open to finding them separate homes if the right families come along. After everything they have survived, these girls deserve families who will never abandon them again. 🏡 **Whether together or apart, Songi and Paengi are ready to begin the next chapter of their lives—with love, safety, and a family of their own.** ❤️🐾 **About Songi & Paengi** * Female * Friendly and gentle * Love people * Dog-friendly * Recovered from neglect and abandonment * Currently living in a private rescue center in Korea * Can be adopted together or separately Sometimes the most resilient hearts belong to the dogs who have every reason not to trust again. Songi and Paengi are proof of that every single day. ❤️
