He loves the freedom of a fenced-in backyard, where he explores every inch of ground as methodically as Will Trent at a murder scene. Leo also enjoys long walks in the neighborhood, where there is always an abundance of novel scents requiring investigation. Hes quite sociable, and if he had his way, hed stop to meet every dog and neighbor he sees along the way. Leo is a lovable companion who wants to be wherever his people are - he's always ready to join in, follow along, or simply be part of the moment. He can be shy at first, especially around men, but he usually builds trust quickly and becomes fast friends. Leo loves children of all ages, but at 60 pounds and 3 feet tall, he may be a bit much for very young kids. He enjoys the company of other dogs but can be too rough with cats, so would do best in a home without them. Leo is housebroken and crate-trained and knows basic commands. Leo craves affection he will sit in front of you and rest his head on your knee or gently hand you his paw to get your attention for pets or scratches. Stella is a 3.5-year-old, 45-pound dog whose life has been shaped by both deep love and repeated loss. None of it her fault. She was first surrendered to ACCT Philly due to seizures, placing her at risk with a time-stamped outcome. From there, she was rescued by Familiar Hearts Animal Society, given the care she needed, and finally adopted into a home of her own. For a while, Stella had what every dog deserves. But after nine months, she was returned. Again because of her seizures. And still, Stella remains exactly who she has always been :: a happy, gentle, deeply loving soul. She has a beautiful balance of energy, content to lounge by your side, yet quick to invite another dog into a playful game. She’s easy on leash, a wonderful walking companion, and adaptable to a variety of homes. Stella is especially tender with other animals, doing well with dogs and even cats, and she lights up around people, particularly children. Stella does have epilepsy, which means she will always experience seizures. Most are brief focal episodes lasting just seconds and don’t seem to interrupt her joy or engagement with life. Less frequently, she may have more significant seizures. She is on medication to help manage them, and her care team continues to learn what her “normal” looks like as her patterns evolve. What’s important to understand is this :: Stella is not a dog waiting to be fixed. She is a dog already living a full, connected, and joyful life. She is looking for a home that can meet her with steadiness and compassion. This gorgeous girl came to us after being surrendered by her previous family and she is now looking for a forever home where she can be cherished and adored Maggie absolutely loves people and thrives on human companionship. She also enjoys attention, affection, and being included in her family's Daily life if you're looking for a loyal companion to be by your side, Maggie might be the perfect fit. Maggie prefers not to share her space with other animals so we think she would do best as an only pet. she prefers not to share her space with other dogs and cats. She definitely needs some training because she does not like to be around other animals and she will attack them, but we haven’t had the time to train her. We’ve had so many dogs come into our rescue. she enjoys her soul attention from her people. If you happen we to have a pool, she loves to swim.. While she can be reactive around other dogs during walk, she has already shown improvement while in our care and continues to make progress because standard pools are very highly intelligent And eager to please and learn we believe Maggie has great potential to continue building confidence and Improving her social skills With patient guidance and positive training. Definitely training. We cannot even walk her around other dogs because she lunches at them. Despite the challenges she's faced, Maggie remains a loving and devoted dog who deserves a family willing to see just how special she is. After spending the first four years of his life in a commercial breeding kennel, Luke joined rescue and quickly found what everyone hoped would be his forever home. Unfortunately, despite the love and dedication of his adopters, it became clear that the match wasn't quite right for either Luke or the family. Wanting the very best for him, they made the difficult decision to help him find a home better suited to his needs. Luke is an intelligent, sensitive soul who has made tremendous progress learning how to navigate the world.
