Story
Meet Lux!Lux is a loving Snorkie (Miniature Schnauzer/Yorkshire Terrier mix) looking for a forever home. He is house-trained, kid-friendly, and has a gentle, affectionate personality. Lux enjoys spending time with his family, whether playing, going for walks, or relaxing at home. He is well-adjusted to living indoors and follows household routines well. This is a difficult decision, and our priority is finding a safe, loving home where Lux will receive the care and attention he deserves. If you think Lux would be a great fit for your family, we'd love to hear a little about you and the home you can provide.

Story
Dolly is two years old and approx. 40-45 lbs. as of June 2026. Her owner recently moved and Dolly isn't adjusting well to the active household. She is wonderful with kids - very patient and gentle, and loves other dogs. Dolly is unsure of men, so she would do best in a household without them, or with men who are willing to work with her to grow her confidence. She's very active and loves playing with other dogs, especially if they're also athletic. Dolly is house trained and would do best in a home with a fenced yard.  She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Dolly has an adoption fee of $275 and you can apply for her here: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Beta is being fostered in NC Such a sweet laid back lady who is a joy to have around! ... enjoys being scratched and loved on, but not too much of a cuddler🤷‍♀️ or at least not with me…. Chewing on bone marrow is a favorite pastime, along with wandering around the yard if it is not hot out😂. She isn’t particularly attached to any specific bed, she kind of likes to bounce from one place to another…sort of like Goldie Locks😉. If she is needing to go out she starts wandering around, so regular bathroom outings are definitely suggested… she is wonderful on a leash, slowly enjoys sniffing everything while perking up at all the sounds around and responding with a few barks that are too adorable. As for eating, she is definitely spoiled, plain dry kibble is not going to do it. So we rotate different foods mixed into her kibble… she is quite fond of chicken broth and rice with frozen mixed veggies though so she gets that several times a week. Shredded boiled chicken and plain yogurt is another favorite… it has been a wonderful experience watching her come out of her shell, and I’m sure she has only begun that personality development… she would make anyone a fabulous companion, excellent with dogs of all sizes and cats are of zero interest to her, she just passes them by or lays with them. I can’t say enough of how much of a joy she is to have around. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
