Tabby kittens & cats in Ames, Iowa

Hello, we have 10 kittens that need a new home that are about 7 weeks old now. Variety of colors and sexes. Two sister cats had them about a week apart and they both take care of all of them together. Mostly they are using the litter box now and all are eating dry food and table scraps of meat when there is some. Free to answer any questions. Awesome Christmas present.

My name is Mj and I am a tortie domestic shorthair. I am a spayed female and I am 3 months old. I am at the shelter because I was found as a stray on 09/12/2025. I am a good kitty who uses the litterbox! I am a typical kitten with typical kitten energy levels, and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. I can be good with men, women, and children. I can be good with other cats and I can be good with dogs.My foster family had this to say about me: `MJ is so sweet! She loves to cuddle and will come sit on your lap or perch on your shoulder whenever you are hanging out around the home. She is a great low to medium energy companion cat who is great around other cats and is litter training.`

My name is George, I am 2 years old, neutered, and FIV+. This just means I need to stay indoors and get regular vet care. I can still live a long, happy life — even with other friendly cats, as long as we get along! I am as fun and energetic as any other cat. I love following people around; you will never be lonely again with me in the house. I love to play and need lots of exercise throughout the day. I love to snuggle. I make cute silly snore noises! This happens when I focus really hard, or am about to fall asleep. I also have a special skill to offer: I will personally test all of your food for poison, this includes any meals, drinks, plants, and any plate you leave out! Before I moved to a foster home, I joined Ames Animal Shelter through their Third Chance program on November 6, 2025.I was the longest resident at my last shelter I have never stopped believing my special person is out there. I was transferred here from another shelter/rescue through the Ames Animal Shelter`s Third Chance program on 11/06/2025. I am a good kitty who uses the litterbox! I am a medium energy cat and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. I currently live in a community room with other cats so I can do well with other cats with a slow introduction. Staff are still learning how I do with children and dogs.
