Tabby kittens & cats in Hamilton, Ontario

Cassandra is a lovely grey tabby who was living outside in Northern Ontario with various other relatives, until one day she walked into someone's enclosed porch and made friends. After a long day of travel, she arrived at an AbbeyCats foster home incredibly scared. However, after a couple of days of decompression, Cassandra has opened up and showed us how much she likes to be inside with people's attention. Cassandra loves to lie on the window sill and watch the bug, birds, and plants. While she is still scared of other noises, she doesn't hide anymore when we walk into her room. She greets us with a meow and begins to purr, rubbing up on our legs and asking for pets. She also loves to be brushed! Cassandra would likely do best in a quiet and calm home with adults and perhaps older teens who will give her the time to feel safe and secure. They will be rewarded by her sweet eyes and enthusiastic purrs. DOB: November 15, 2024

Meet Bella! ❤️ Bella came into my life seven years ago when she was found as a tiny kitten in the parking lot of the office where I worked. From the very beginning, she has been an incredibly social, affectionate, and loving cat. Bella absolutely loves attention! One of her favourite things to do is curl up on your chest and soak up all the pets and affection she can get. She’s a wonderful companion who genuinely enjoys being close to her people. As she’s gotten a little older, she’s slowed down and enjoys a more relaxed lifestyle, but her affectionate personality hasn’t changed. Bella can live around other cats, dogs, and children, but she would truly thrive in a home where she’s the only pet and can enjoy all the attention for herself. We’re hoping to find Bella a loving, comfortable forever home where she can get all the cuddles, pets, and affection she deserves. She’s been a wonderful companion for the past seven years.

Bumble(bee) was found alone outside, without any family. He was 'adopted' into the "B" family and received 3 sisters and a momma. He's a sweet little guy that needs a bit of time to trust, but is learning that indoors is safe and gentle touch is nice. He loves to play, eat and repeat! He is FIV/FelV negative, flea treated and dewormed, up to date on his vaccines and will come with a voucher for his neuter at 6 months, done in Woodstock at our vet. To facilitate the neuter surgery, applications from locations within half an hour distance from Woodstock will be considered. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! An adoption application can be found at www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com (click on Adopt, then Cats for Adoption, then scroll to the bottom of the page). We require 2 non-familial references (including contact numbers) as well as permission to speak with your vet. Please note that yearly vet visits are a requirement for all our adopted kitties. You are not able to meet multiple kitties to see if one fits as the animals may be fostered in different locations. Please help us get the kitties to their forever homes by respecting these guidelines!

This little one and her brother Griffin were found outside, unwell. She has fully recovered and is healthy and ready for her new family. She loves to play with her brother, is active and adventurous, but still a bit shy and would be best in quiet home with another kitty. She likes cuddles and has a big purr engine! She is FIV/FelV negative, flea treated and dewormed, up to date on her vaccines and has been spayed. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! Beth is a quiet independent girl. She prefers to sit high up on her cat tree and just watch the world around her. She will snuggle and play with her brother Blake, but does not connect with any of the other animals in her foster home. She will accept a quick pet, but is not a cuddly kitty. She will do best with her brother Blake, or as the only pet in a quiet home, given time, space and understanding. She is FIV/FelV negative, flea treated and dewormed, up to date on her vaccines and has been spayed. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! Meet Nigel!! (case #19788) Introducing Nigel, a handsome 2-year-old gentleman who has recently arrived on the scene with... well, let’s just say he’s had a rough night out. Nigel showed up with a rather dramatic amount of hair missing from his hind end and a small wound at the base of his tail. What happened? We may never know. Was he involved in an intense wrestling match with a particularly feisty squirrel? Did he lose a high-stakes game of “don’t touch my tail”? Did he simply have a disagreement with an army of fleas? Our best guess is flea allergy dermatitis, but Nigel isn’t talking. And honestly, we respect his right to remain mysterious. The good news? Nigel is on the mend! His wound is healing, he’s feeling much better, and his hair should grow back...er... eventually. In the meantime, he’s rocking his unique look with the confidence of a cat who knows that true beauty comes from within... and that nobody can resist a good personality. And Nigel has personality in spades. This boy is super friendly, incredibly social, and ready to make a fantastic first impression. He’s the kind of cat who wants to be part of the action and would love to meet the people who will appreciate him for the charming, affectionate guy he is hair or no hair. So, if you’re looking for a cat with a great story, an even better personality, and a rear end that’s currently undergoing a very exclusive renovation, Nigel might just be your guy. Come meet Nigel. His hair may be a work in progress, but his heart is already ready for his forever home. Meet Broomstick!! (case #21966) Hop aboard, because Broomstick is ready to fly straight into your heart! Meet Broomstick, a fluffy black cat with a curious nature and a friendly disposition. With her medium-length coat and sleek little movements, she's got just the right amount of Halloween mystery. But don't let her witchy name fool you — this gal is much more interested in making friends than casting spooky spells! Broomstick is a curious soul who likes to investigate her surroundings and see what's going on. She's friendly, inquisitive, and has a wonderfully slinky way about her as she moves through her environment. She's the sort of lady who wants to be part of the action and make the most of whatever adventures come her way. She arrived alongside another fluffy black cat named Boo, and the two are suspected to be littermates. They could make a magical duo if adopted together, but they're also perfectly capable of finding separate families to call their own. Whether you're looking for a pair of Halloween housemates or a single feline companion with a little extra enchantment, Broomstick is ready for takeoff! Forget flying monkeys and haunted houses — this is one Halloween companion you'll actually want following you home! Meet Jessie!! (case #18482) Yeehaw! If you’ve met her brother Woody, then you already know this family has plenty of kitten energy—and Jessie is ready to join the adventure! At 4 months old, Jessie is a sweet, playful girl who has made incredible progress over the last couple of months. When she first arrived, she was a little unsure of the world, but she has really come out of her shell and continues to gain confidence every day. Jessie is definitely the more cautious sibling. She may need a little extra time to decide that you’re her kind of person, but once she feels comfortable, you’ll see more and more of her personality shine through. She can be handled without a problem, although she’d probably prefer to know what’s happening first rather than enthusiastically volunteering for cuddles! Because Jessie is still building her confidence, a home with another friendly, well-socialized cat could be a great fit for her. Having a feline friend around may help her feel more secure and give her a buddy to play with while she continues learning that people—and life in general—can be pretty great. Jessie isn’t looking for someone to rush her. She’s looking for a family willing to give her the time and patience she needs to settle in and blossom. And if her progress over the last two months is any indication, this little cowgirl has plenty of personality waiting to come out of hiding! So saddle up and give Jessie a chance. With a little patience, she just might become your newest favourite partner in adventure. Meet her at our adoption partner, PetSmart. The address is 1779 Stone Church Road East, Stoney Creek. **Please note: we only adopt within Ontario.
