Story
DOB: April 17, 2014 Meet Sammy, a little orange ray of sunshine with a heart full of love. This sweet senior lady is ready to spend her golden years in comfort and companionship. She’s a gentle soul who adores curling up in your lap for long cuddle sessions and will happily purr the day away by your side. Sammy may have a few years behind her, but she’s still full of warmth, affection, and quiet charm. She’s looking for a calm, loving home where she can enjoy soft naps, gentle pets, and the company of someone who appreciates the simple joys of life together. Sammy gets along well with other cats, but she is not a fan of canine's. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to share peaceful days and cozy nights, Sammy is ready to fill your home and your heart with love.

Story
Wilma is one of many siblings born outside. She is a darling, loving little girl always ready for a chin scratch and cuddle. She is playful and holds her own with her brothers. She would be a great addition to any family! She is FIV/FelV negative, flea treated and dewormed, up to date on her vaccines and will come with a voucher for her spay at 6 months, done in Woodstock at our vet. To facilitate the spay surgery, applications from locations within half an hour distance from Woodstock will be considered. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! An adoption application can be found at www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com (click on Adopt, then Cats for Adoption, then scroll to the bottom of the page). We require 2 non-familial references (including contact numbers) as well as permission to speak with your vet. Please note that yearly vet visits are a requirement for all our adopted kitties. If this is not your past practice, your application will not move forward. You must be 21 years old to adopt. The adoption fee is $200. It may take up to 72 hours to approve your application. Please provide all requested information, including contact numbers, to help expedite the process. Repeated phone calls and emails will not move your application along. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue. We are not able to facilitate meet and greets before an application is received. You are not able to meet multiple kitties to see if one fits as the animals may be fostered in different locations. Please help us get the kitties to their forever homes by respecting these guidelines!

Story
Ginny is a very smart girl. She was the last of siblings to be born, but the first at everything else. She was the first to eat solid food, use the litter pan, climb out of their enclosure, plus many other things. She loves to run and play with her siblings, but is often content to cuddle on her foster grandma's lap and just watch. She has never met a child or dog, but would be fine with proper introductions. She is FIV/FelV negative, flea treated and dewormed, up to date on her vaccines and have been spayed. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! Wasabi is one of many kittens who began his life outdoors, without human touch. He's now a sweet little guy who has changed his spicy ways! He loves cuddles with his foster momma, belly rubs and chin scratches. Chasing crinkle balls and wand toys are favorites! He is FIV/FelV negative, flea treated and dewormed, up to date on his vaccines and has been neutered. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! This little one and her brother Griffin were found outside, unwell. She has fully recovered and is healthy and ready for her new family. She loves to play with her brother, is active and adventurous, but still a bit shy and would be best in quiet home with another kitty. She likes cuddles and has a big purr engine! She is FIV/FelV negative, flea treated and dewormed, up to date on her vaccines and has been spayed. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! Story
Meet Jersey: the comeback queen with nine lives and a brand-new chapter ahead of her. (case #12202) When Jersey first arrived, life had not been kind to her. This sweet 9-year-old lady was carrying enough extra weight that grooming herself had become nearly impossible. She was flea-infested, uncomfortable, and dealing with a mouth infection so foul it could’ve gone toe-to-toe with a forgotten gym bag left in a swamp during a heatwave. Every day must have felt heavy, itchy, painful, and exhausting. But here’s the thing about Jersey: beneath all of that was pure sunshine. Even through the discomfort, her temperament stayed golden — warm, gentle, and comforting like a sunbeam stretching across the floor on a cold morning. No bitterness. No attitude. Just quiet trust and a heart still wide open to love. And now? Jersey’s rewrite is well underway. The fleas are gone — evicted without notice. She’s had much-needed dental surgery, and while she’s missing quite a few teeth now, honestly? Good riddance. Those rotten old chompers were holding her hostage. She’s lighter, healthier, more comfortable, and finally getting the chance to live the life she was always meant to have. Jersey is proof that it’s never too late for a fresh start. She’s gone from surviving to shining. From weighed down to blossoming. Like a wilted flower finally getting sunlight and water, this girl is opening up more every day. And the best part? Her story isn’t finished yet. Jersey is looking for the people who want to be part of her happily ever after — the kind of home where soft beds, kind hands, and sunny windows replace the hardships she left behind. Trust us: whoever gets to love this remarkable girl won’t just be adopting a cat. They’ll be joining one of the best comeback stories around. Please complete an adoption application: https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/animals-pets/adopt-or-foster-pet/adoptions Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families. *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario

Story
Meet Lexi! 3 yrs Spayed/Female Lexi is a cat's cat, and her future hangs in the balance of being able to connect with a compassionate and caring pet owner who can love a cat for the sake of that cat, not for what they get in return from that cat. Lexi was born and raised among a colony of community cats, she was incredibly difficult to catch with efforts spanning more than 10 months as she diligently worked to evade even the most skilled of trappers before she was finally secured, pregnant, and ready to begin adding her own little ones to the overpopulation crisis. Thankfully, Lexi was secured before she could give birth, and her babies never had to experience the harsh reality of being born on the street. Lexi was spayed, and she has been in foster care for well over a year, but Lexi is still a cat's cat, and she has very little use for humans beyond being grateful that they can ensure her comfort and a full tummy. Will Lexi meet you at the door after a long day at work? No. Will Lexi sit up on your lap? Nope. Does Lexi like cuddles? No thanks! Does Lexi love to be petted and show her appreciation with purrs? Also no! Will Lexi sleep up in the bed with you? Not a chance. Will Lexi leap around playing with toys with you? Not going to happen. Will Lexi sit up on the couch with you? Probably not. What WILL Lexi do or offer?? Honestly? Not a lot in terms of what she will give back, or show, but she will faithfully use a litter box, she will happily eat canned and dry food and she may even meow/chatter at you at meal times, and allow a head pet or couple of quick strokes (only at meal times, thank you kindly), she will use a scratching post, and she wont try to dart out your front door every time you come and go. And she is a really great hunter should you happen to have a mouse! And that's about it. Lexi is a good friend to other cats. She settles in really well with another mellow and relaxed cat, she seems to really like the boys to pal and chum around with, and she can make a comforting presence for another cat who would like a buddy who wont try to steal the limelight or try to hog any of the love and affection, but who will just hang around, being there, to watch, cuddle up beside, and hang out with. There is a great chance that Lexi will never become any more open or affectionate. She will probably never be a lap cat, will probably never want to be picked up or held, she will never be able to give what many people are looking for when they adopt a cat - but Lexi still needs to be loved, she still needs a Forever Home, where she can be free to be herself, do her thing and thrive, despite not offering the love, cuddles and sweetness that most people are looking for in a furry family member. Lexi needs someone special to take notice of her, to see her worth despite her aloof and independent nature, and who will offer her a truly unconditional love, that means sharing a home, a life and a love that does not meet the traditional expectations of pet ownership. Lexi can consider a safe barn or shop cat post, where she will be kept safe, well fed and cared for, or would be happy to be a house cat who is simply left to do her thing as she chooses with no expectation of her changing to suit the needs of her humans while they change their focus to accept and love her for who she is. Lexi is fully vetted, vaccinated, spayed, she is microchipped has been treated for routine parasites and is is great health, she has fantastic litter box habits and is a neat and tidy little room-mate who likes to keep herself to herself and is in no rush to change that. ADOPTION FEES WILL BE WAIVED FOR A SUITABLE ADOPTER. Please submit an adoption application for Lexi today at http://priderescue.ca/

Story
Meet Walter! 1 1/2 yrs Neutered/Male A handsome soul who found himself abandoned and trying to survive on the street, Walter was very scared when he entered the rescue, and has come a long way, blossoming into a warm and affectionate young cat who is great with other cat companions. Looking for a mature, adult home, without dogs, Walter will need a little time to adjust and adapt at his own pace. A cat who will by timid and skittish at first, Walter will need a little time and gentleness as he gets the lay of the land, adjusting to the new place and new people, but given the patience and support he needs to become familiar with new things, he quickly warms into a really very lovely cat. Walter thrives in a quiet setting, and once comfortable is a chatty cat who answers when spoken to, and he openly asks for love and affection from his people. Not one of being picked up or held, in time, Walter enjoys close cuddles and lap time, but will need to develop a trusting bond with his new before before he fully comes out of his shell. Playful and curious, and a lover of high perches to laze around and nap, this beautiful boy is a sweetheart, with so much potential. Ready and waiting to love and be loved, Walter is looking forward to meeting his purrfect Forever Family! Walter has been vet checked and fully vaccinated, he has been treated for routine parasites, has been microchipped and has been neutered. An adoption fee of $250 applies.
