Story
Deere is the other half of the infamous John and Deere duo. Deere is a sweet and affectionate spayed female approximately 7 years old. She is the least adventurous of the two and prefers to spend most of her days and nights cuddled up with her favourite people, or sister-cat. She likes to go outside but doesn’t seem to roam as far as John does. Both John and Deere were raised in a home with a dog who they trust and are very comfortable around her. However, they are more fearful around unknown dogs so it may take a bit of time to warm up to them. John and Deere are the sweetest little pair and everyone comments on what great cats they are. They are more dog-like than typical cats. They love following you around and are always nearby. John and Deere would need a loving home that could take both of them and enjoy these exceptional well-behaved adult cats.

Story
John is one half of the duo John and Deere. John, tho given a male name is indeed a spayed female. Due to allergies, we need to rehome our sweet John and Deere. We rescued them at approximately 1 year of age where they were spayed and given all their shots. We’ve maintained all their shots and health since then. John is the more adventurous of the duo and is an avid and successful hunter. She enjoys both roaming free outside hunting or basking in the sun and the comforts of a soft, cozy warm spot in the house. She is sweet and gentle and is easy to handle and has been nothing but the most perfect little cat. She is approximately 7 years old and is in great health. She is closely attached to her sister Deere and would they therefore would need to stay together. John and Deere would likely do best in a home with a bit of outdoor space where they are able to roam relatively safely, and would be welcome back to relax indoors.

Story
Spazz is a beautiful medium haired, 11 yr old tabby. He is very loving, but he has to come to you. He has always been nervous (hence the name) but he loves hugs and to cuddle. He would be more ideal for someone who doesn’t have small children as they move too quickly for his nerves.

Story
Bailey was welcomed into our home 9 years ago when she was just a kitten. She has shared our home with 2 other cats her whole life while with us, 1 being her sister. She’s the kind of cat that wants love and attention, though she shows it in a peculiar way. She loves food, especially soft food and treats, she loves to talk, especially when she’s looking to play or just get your attention. We are looking for someone who will love her, play with her, spoil her and give her all she deserves in her years left. We feel she will be best situated in a home without other pets and young children. Please reach out for additional information or any questions you may have about Bailey!

Story
Wilma is one of many siblings born outside. She is a darling, loving little girl always ready for a chin scratch and cuddle. She is playful and holds her own with her brothers. She would be a great addition to any family! She is FIV/FelV negative, flea treated and dewormed, up to date on her vaccines and will come with a voucher for her spay at 6 months, done in Woodstock at our vet. To facilitate the spay surgery, applications from locations within half an hour distance from Woodstock will be considered. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! An adoption application can be found at www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com (click on Adopt, then Cats for Adoption, then scroll to the bottom of the page). We require 2 non-familial references (including contact numbers) as well as permission to speak with your vet. Please note that yearly vet visits are a requirement for all our adopted kitties. If this is not your past practice, your application will not move forward. You must be 21 years old to adopt. The adoption fee is $200. It may take up to 72 hours to approve your application. Please provide all requested information, including contact numbers, to help expedite the process. Repeated phone calls and emails will not move your application along. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue. We are not able to facilitate meet and greets before an application is received. You are not able to meet multiple kitties to see if one fits as the animals may be fostered in different locations. Please help us get the kitties to their forever homes by respecting these guidelines!

Story
Meet Honda – the smoothest ride you’ll ever take home!! (case #8729) At 5 years old, this handsome little hatchback of a cat is fully broken in, road-tested, and ready to run his motor straight over to his forever home. Turn the key (aka open a can of food) and you’ll hear that steady purr engine fire right up. Honda is the total “boy next door” model — friendly, dependable, and easy to love. No high-maintenance sports car drama here! He’s built for comfort, companionship, and long-lasting loyalty. Safe around the house, reliable with his manners, and smooth in every interaction, he’s the kind of cat you can count on for years of happy miles. When Honda first pulled into the shelter garage, he had a bit of a rough start thanks to a flea infestation, so he’s still sporting a few patchy spots. Think of it as cosmetic wear from a previous owner — his fur is already tuning itself up and will grow back in beautifully. Under the hood (and under the fluff), he’s in great shape and ready for the open road of home life. Honda is also FIV positive (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV is a virus that affects a cat’s immune system, meaning Honda may need a little extra care to stay healthy. The good news is that many FIV-positive cats live long, happy, completely normal lives with proper care. FIV is most commonly spread through deep bite wounds between cats, so it’s not easily transmitted through casual contact like sharing bowls, grooming, or lounging together. Because of this, FIV-positive cats can often live peacefully with other friendly cats, and they thrive best as indoor companions where they can stay safe and healthy. If you’re looking for a safe, reliable, well-loved companion who will cruise by your side through every season, Honda is ready to pull into your driveway and stay parked in your heart forever. Please complete an adoption application: https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/animals-pets/adopt-or-foster-pet/adoptions Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families. *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario

Story
Meet Figaro — your future co-pilot, nap enthusiast, and resident entertainer!! (case #10688) At just eight months old, Figaro has already lived a life full of adventure. This handsome brown tabby and white gentleman arrived as a worldly stray, suitcase in paw, ready to trade his travels for a place to truly call home. Now, he’s searching for someone special to be his final destination. Don’t let his refined, almost delicate features fool you — Figaro is equal parts charm and comedy. Friendly, curious, and always ready to make you smile, he has a knack for turning everyday moments into a show. His signature move? Perfecting the art of napping in the most impressive positions — whether you’re doing yoga, stretching, or simply relaxing, Figaro will be right there, demonstrating his unique blend of acrobatics and relaxation. He’s the kind of cat who adapts quickly, brings warmth to any room, and reminds you not to take life too seriously. After all his travels, Figaro is ready to unpack his suitcase for good — he just needs a cozy spot (and a loving human) to settle into. If you’re looking for a playful companion with a gentle spirit and a flair for the dramatic, Figaro is ready to make your home his forever stage. Meet him at our adoption partner, PetSmart. The address is 1779 Stone Church Road East, Stoney Creek. **Please note: we only adopt within Ontario.

Story
At around 2 years old, this striking white medium-haired boy with adorable black spots is equal parts charming companion and full-time conversationalist. Seriously… Mayo has a lot to say. Whether you’re making coffee, answering emails, or just existing in his general vicinity, Mayo will be right there, offering his thoughts, opinions, and probably a dramatic retelling of his day. He doesn’t just meow — he croons. He narrates. He monologues. He may even debate you. It’s impressive. It’s endearing. It’s… a little relentless. If you’ve ever wished for a pet you could have full conversations with, Mayo is ready to exceed your expectations (and maybe test your patience just a tiny bit). Underneath all that chatter is a super friendly, social guy who genuinely loves being around people. He’ll happily follow you from room to room like your very own spotted shadow, just making sure you’re never alone… or in silence… ever again. Mayo would do best in a home that appreciates his talkative nature and maybe even talks back. He’s perfect for someone who wants an interactive, engaging companion with a big personality and zero interest in being a quiet background cat. If your home feels a little too peaceful and you’re ready to add some commentary, comedy, and constant companionship — Mayo is ready to move in and start the conversation.
