Story
DOB: Feb 23, 2024 Alvin is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s pet store partner locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved. Alvin is a lovable guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He is super friendly and always ready to make new friends, he greets everyone like they’ve known each other forever. He can also be a little chatty. Whether he’s following you around the house or curling up nearby, Alvin just loves being part of the action. His absolute favorite thing in the world? Treats! The moment he hears the bag crinkle, he’s there in a flash, ready for his well-earned snack. Sweet, social, and a little treat-obsessed, Alvin makes every day brighter.

Good with cats,
Story
DOB: July 20, 2021 (approx) Please note, this is a posting through the Courtesy Adoption Program. Please contact the current owner directly for more details. Their details are below. Dandelion is a loving, cuddly, four-year-old kitty. He’ll take some time to show it, but once he does, he is the sweetest, most affectionate dude. He’s a healthy, strong, big cat who the vet says is a healthy weight for his size. He’s a quiet and gentle guy who does not hiss or scratch. He likes humans and, once he gets to know you, he will want a regular schedule for loving and cuddling. He will often just want to hang out with you, and he will tell you when it’s time to join him on the bed or couch to hang out for belly rubs. He doesn’t talk as much as his sister does, but when it is time for cuddling, he will let you know. Dandelion is sweet, curious, and affectionate. He loves drinking water from a slowly running tap in a sink or the tub, playing with rolled up bits of paper, and stretching across your desk in front of you while you work. He is a big fan of a blanket stretched over a couch so that he can sleep underneath in a mini-tent. He is not a fan of sudden, loud noises, so may race from the room when a loud car passes, but he seems to be adjusting to that over time. By race, we mean fast-walk. He really only runs when he thinks he may be about to miss out on couch time or a bed cuddle. His one idiosyncrasy is that he likes ear plugs, ideally used ones, to savour and nibble on over a day. If you sleep with ear plugs, you’ll need to make sure they’re stored securely in a drawer in the morning. Otherwise, we think the guy is perfect! He has no medical issues. His vaccines are current, and he’s neutered and microchipped. Dandelion and his sister Juniper (also posted on this site) are from the same litter and we adopted them from Toronto Cat Rescue in 2021. However, one of us became allergic to cats two years ago and, despite best efforts to control symptoms, we have decided it is best to part ways. They can be adopted together, although Dandelion would be fine as a solo pet. We don’t know how he would respond to children or dogs. Dandelion is a wonderful cat who means a lot to us, and we want to find him the right place. He will need time to adjust to his new home and his new people - our guess is about four to five months - but once he does, he will be a loving, dependable, life-long companion. Please reach out. We’d be happy to answer any questions and then arrange a visit for you to meet him. We live in midtown Toronto and can be available most of the weekend and some weekday evenings. Dandelion is participating in our Courtesy Adoption Posting Program and is not the property of Toronto Cat Rescue. Toronto Cat Rescue does not accept responsibility for any pet placements that result from this service. Good with cats,
Story
DOB: July 20, 2021 (approx) Please note, this is a posting through the Courtesy Adoption Program. Please contact the current owner directly for more details. Their details are below. Juniper is an exciting, fun-loving, and talkative four-year-old kitty who also enjoys quiet time with her humans. She is her own best friend, able to play on her own with boinks, springs, and cardboard boxes, but she also makes friends quickly. She recognizes any human after three visits and will come out to see them whenever they come over. Juniper is bright and curious although can be a little jumpy. She’s not a fan of annoyingly loud cars – and really, other than the owners of those cars, who is? – and the noise may cause her to run from the room. Other unexpected loud noises, like door knocking, can make her take off as well. This is abating with time, though. She is a sweet, fun, engaging cat who would do well in just about any environment. She develops a schedule quickly and will chat away to you when it’s time for morning pick-ups or TV watching, but she also has a life of her own and will happily entertain herself by batting a ball around or running laps in the morning. She is a lap kitty who likes to curl up with each of us, but after about 15 minutes, she gets up and heads to one of her favourite sleeping spots, usually in front of a vent in winter or in the sun in summer. Juniper’s food needs are particular. There is only one food that she can eat - a special digestive food available only from the vet. That means no treats, no soft food, only this one kibble. While the food is about $80 a month for one cat, it’s balanced out by being the only food you’ll need to buy. Her digestive system is sensitive, but as long as you stay with the prescribed food, there are no issues. If you have another cat, we recommend using only this food so that Juniper doesn’t have access to anything else. It’s high quality, so it doesn't take much to fill up any cat. Juniper and her brother Dandelion (also posted on this site) are from the same litter and we adopted them from Toronto Cat Rescue in 2021. However, one of us became allergic to cats two years ago and, despite best efforts to control symptoms, we have decided it is best to part ways. They could be adopted together. However, they aren’t bonded and Juniper could do just as well on her own or, we expect, with a new cat. She would integrate well into a new home. We’re unsure about how well she would adjust to dogs or children, but we do think her goal in life is to make friends and have fun. Juniper is a wonderful cat who means a lot to us, and we want to find her the right home. If that might be with you, please reach out. We’d be happy to answer any questions and then can arrange a visit for you to meet her. We live in midtown Toronto and can be available most of the weekend and some weekday evenings. Story
Bailey was welcomed into our home 9 years ago when she was just a kitten. She has shared our home with 2 other cats her whole life while with us, 1 being her sister. She’s the kind of cat that wants love and attention, though she shows it in a peculiar way. She loves food, especially soft food and treats, she loves to talk, especially when she’s looking to play or just get your attention. We are looking for someone who will love her, play with her, spoil her and give her all she deserves in her years left. We feel she will be best situated in a home without other pets and young children. Please reach out for additional information or any questions you may have about Bailey!

Story
Deere is the other half of the infamous John and Deere duo. Deere is a sweet and affectionate spayed female approximately 7 years old. She is the least adventurous of the two and prefers to spend most of her days and nights cuddled up with her favourite people, or sister-cat. She likes to go outside but doesn’t seem to roam as far as John does. Both John and Deere were raised in a home with a dog who they trust and are very comfortable around her. However, they are more fearful around unknown dogs so it may take a bit of time to warm up to them. John and Deere are the sweetest little pair and everyone comments on what great cats they are. They are more dog-like than typical cats. They love following you around and are always nearby. John and Deere would need a loving home that could take both of them and enjoy these exceptional well-behaved adult cats.

Story
John is one half of the duo John and Deere. John, tho given a male name is indeed a spayed female. Due to allergies, we need to rehome our sweet John and Deere. We rescued them at approximately 1 year of age where they were spayed and given all their shots. We’ve maintained all their shots and health since then. John is the more adventurous of the duo and is an avid and successful hunter. She enjoys both roaming free outside hunting or basking in the sun and the comforts of a soft, cozy warm spot in the house. She is sweet and gentle and is easy to handle and has been nothing but the most perfect little cat. She is approximately 7 years old and is in great health. She is closely attached to her sister Deere and would they therefore would need to stay together. John and Deere would likely do best in a home with a bit of outdoor space where they are able to roam relatively safely, and would be welcome back to relax indoors.
