Story
These sweet orange-and-white boys are a bonded pair looking for a patient, understanding forever home. They are very shy with people and not interested in being pet right now — but they get along wonderfully with dogs and absolutely love cuddling and playing with the resident cat in their foster home. While they may not seek out attention, they quietly share space with their foster family and will sleep on the bed at night, adding a comforting presence to the home. They adore Churu treats, which is a great way to slowly earn their trust. When it’s just them and the other pets, these brothers are playful, silly, and affectionate with each other — showing their sweet personalities in their own time. They will need a calm home and adopters who are willing to give them as much time as they need to come out of their shells. In the right home, with patience and love, they will slowly blossom and become a wonderful part of the household. If you believe that love means meeting animals where they are and giving them a lifetime of safety and care, these gentle boys might be the perfect match for you.&#226&#156&#133 Neutered&#226&#156&#133 Vaccinated&#226&#156&#133 Microchipped&#226&#156&#133 Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Oatmeal and Barley? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $150 EachFor more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgNovember 18, 2025, 5:50 am

Story
Meet Bora Bora is a stunning black-and-white beauty with soulful eyes and a gentle spirit. She came to us from a hoarding situation, and the big changes in her world have understandably left her feeling shy and unsure. Shelter life has been overwhelming for her, and she’s still learning that people can be kind, patient, and safe.Bora is the kind of cat who will blossom in the right home. She isn’t looking for the spotlight — she’s looking for someone who understands that trust takes time. With a calm environment, a predictable routine, and plenty of quiet encouragement, Bora will slowly begin to show her true self. Every small milestone — a curious glance, a brave step forward, a soft purr — will feel incredibly special. She would do best in a peaceful home with patient adopters who are willing to give her the space she needs while gently showing her love. A quiet room to start, cozy hiding spots, and a compassionate heart are all she’s asking for.Bora has already survived so much. Now she just needs someone to believe in her. If you’re ready to open your heart to a shy but deserving soul, Bora may be waiting just for you.Adoption fee includes:&#226&#156&#133 Spay/Neuter&#226&#156&#133 Vaccines&#226&#156&#133 Microchip&#226&#156&#133 Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Bora?Email us at: adoption@columbiahumane.org to request an application.Adoption Fee: $175For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgFebruary 14, 2026, 6:54 am

Story
I got Snow in May 2024 as a small kitten from a co-worker that knew I was looking for a pet and knew of some kittens that needed homes. She is approximately 20 months old and is up to date with shots and is spayed. I got Snow in hopes that she could be my support animal, and although I love her dearly but her behavior towards me changed drastically after I had her spayed and I no longer can care for her. I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment and I believe she needs more space and is possible feeling cramped and is lashing out. She is very sweet most of the time and wants cuddles and attention, but occasionally she does get cranky, hisses and has scratched me. I would like to find her a loving home where she has a little more space.

Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
A coworker found a stray litter outside their home and we took in 2 of the cats. They are fixed and very good cats but we now have 2 young children and don’t have the money, time, or space, to properly take care of them anymore. They are shy but very well behaved. We keep them inside and they are house trained. They are all black and about 5 years old. We aren’t looking for money for them, we just want them to have a good home.
