Snuggles, (aka Wittle, because she was so little when we rescued her), also known as Baby Girl (which she loves), came to us while apparently nursing kittens. At the time she was only approx, 7 months old. She found shelter in a fox or groundhog den in the ground under boulders in the woods and would go there after eating. When she finally let us trap her, she was finishing nursing kittens according to the vet, and it became apparent that the kittens drowned during the torrential rainstorms here in New Jersey in July, 2023. We had her spayed, vaccinated, tested for FELV/FIV, dewormed, she did not have ear mites or fleas, and she is microchipped. Snuggles LOVES to be cuddled in her cat bed and kissed all over and even gives us her belly! She is cross-eyed and does not seem to jump high, but otherwise does not seem to have any visual impairments. She loves the laser light, and for us to dangle ropes and make them move on the ground like they are snakes. Snuggles is elusive. She currently lives most of the day in her cage because our rescue does not have a room or free-roaming space for her. She comes up to you for petting, but we can't catch her. We wait for her to go into her cage, which is her safe haven, to eat and relax. Her behavior is normal for a cat that is confined, and we are sure that when she has a room of her own that she will get adjusted to being held. Snuggles would be a great kitty to snuggle in a bed with a person. She is gentle and would be fine with a responsible child but we must give her time to get used to being held. Dime is a 10 year old Appaloosa mix who came to us from the PSPCA. Unfortunately, we did not get a lot of background information on him. He was placed for a few months in a training program, but did not respond well to undersaddle training. Dime is best suited as a companion only. He does best with geldings and prefers to have a stall to come into at night with turnout during the day. He requires a confident, experienced handler, as he will take advantage of individuals who are not familiar with handling him. I rescued Loki after he was born, outside in a neighbor’s yard. He was born in 2020 and needed a home. Fast forward 4 years, I sold my home after my husband died and moved into a 400 square foot in-law suite. Loki and his older cat brother do not have enough space to run and chase each other. He has a good personality, likes lap snuggles and lets me trim his nails without any problem. He loves watching out the patio door/window perched in a cat tree. He’s playful and knows how to “fetch”. He’s good with children, but hides from dogs. You will love him.

Applesauce (larger kitty) and Oatmeal are a sister pair of 1.5yrs old. We might be biased, but they are the cutest ever. They didn’t receive proper socialization as kittens, so they can still have skittish moments and they aren’t exactly lap cats, but they are both very affectionate and have the cutest meows and purrs. They have a LOT of personality and will keep you entertained! They are good with other cats, and even small crazy dogs with a proper introduction. They love cuddling together and grooming each other. Oatie developed FIP shortly after coming into rescue, but has been treated and is doing amazing. Apple was by her side through her treatment. They really love each other, and even though it’s harder to find a home for two we hope someone will consider them. Apple and Oatie are fostered in Clinton, NJ. Safira was a mom living on the island of St Thomas begging for food when one of our fosters noticed her. The foster would not rest until she was rescued and, with the help of The Humane Society of St Thomas, she is now being fostered in Hoboken. Safira is a VERY chill cat. She can be picked up and cuddled. She is pictured with her daughter who she can be adopted with, or separately. Safira deserves her happy ending after living such a harsh life begging for scraps.
