Story
Dime is a 10 year old Appaloosa mix who came to us from the PSPCA. Unfortunately, we did not get a lot of background information on him. He was placed for a few months in a training program, but did not respond well to undersaddle training. Dime is best suited as a companion only. He does best with geldings and prefers to have a stall to come into at night with turnout during the day. He requires a confident, experienced handler, as he will take advantage of individuals who are not familiar with handling him. If you are interested in adopting one of our equines, please complete the equine placement on our website, www.lastchanceranch.org. Equine placement fees range from $150 to $2000 depending on the age, training and abilities of the equine. The placement fee includes current vaccines, negative Coggins test, dental floating, de-worming and farrier trimming. All equine adopters must live within 3 hours of Last Chance Ranch in Quakertown, PA.

Story
Snuggles, (aka Wittle, because she was so little when we rescued her), also known as Baby Girl (which she loves), came to us while apparently nursing kittens. At the time she was only approx, 7 months old. She found shelter in a fox or groundhog den in the ground under boulders in the woods and would go there after eating. When she finally let us trap her, she was finishing nursing kittens according to the vet, and it became apparent that the kittens drowned during the torrential rainstorms here in New Jersey in July, 2023. We had her spayed, vaccinated, tested for FELV/FIV, dewormed, she did not have ear mites or fleas, and she is microchipped. Snuggles LOVES to be cuddled in her cat bed and kissed all over and even gives us her belly! She is cross-eyed and does not seem to jump high, but otherwise does not seem to have any visual impairments. She loves the laser light, and for us to dangle ropes and make them move on the ground like they are snakes. Snuggles is elusive. She currently lives most of the day in her cage because our rescue does not have a room or free-roaming space for her. She comes up to you for petting, but we can't catch her. We wait for her to go into her cage, which is her safe haven, to eat and relax. Her behavior is normal for a cat that is confined, and we are sure that when she has a room of her own that she will get adjusted to being held. Snuggles would be a great kitty to snuggle in a bed with a person. She is gentle and would be fine with a responsible child but we must give her time to get used to being held. If you are interested in Snuggles, please contact Communities Altering The Strays (CATS), 908-453-0082 or fill out an adoption application at www.catsincorporated.org. Thank you!

Story
FIP SURVIVOR ALERT! We know many people are familiar with Pringle's journey, but here is a recap if you are new here. Pringle's life has been riddled with bad luck, but he is a fighter! He lost his mom and siblings at 3 weeks of age due to an unknown illness/disease. At 5 weeks, he suffered a dog bite to his face (which was stitched up and healed well) when he escaped his quarantine room to look for a playmate. Then at 8 weeks his Feline Leukemia test showed faintly positive which resulted in a longer quarantine and more tests. At 4 months old, he was neutered and tested negative for FeLV. We were hopeful he could finally socialize with other cats and find a forever home. In the days following surgery, Pringle began rapidly declining and we were preparing for the worst. Tests ruled out several possibilities and he was diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). We can happily report that he is officially declared FIP CURED following his one year blood work result after treatment. With so much bad in his life, there can only be good from here! Pringle is an adorable 1 year old boy. He is curious of the world around him and is often the first to explore a new object or room. Pringle loves to play with any dangly string--be it a shoelace or hoodie string! Even more enticing to him are moving feet and hands under a blanket. Pringle often prefers the companionship of humans over felines and does not have the best catiquette because he was isolated for so long due to his illnesses. He loves getting pets on his head and can be such a snuggle bug. Pringle has the tiniest meow when he greets his foster dad at the end of a long work day. Pringle gets a lot of kisses because we just can't resist his big, round eyes. He is also our favorite meme cat. We often create comparisons of his pictures because he is so photogenic and silly! Although Pringle is the most adorable and loving cat, Pringle has developed some cattitude because he was a single kitten for a very long time. He gets overstimulated easily by rowdy cats and people and can get mouthy when pushed to his limit. For this reason, we think the perfect home is a calm household with adults only who are cat savvy and understand his body language. Pringle is neutered, negative for FIV and FeLV, and updated on all his vaccines. If you think that you've got the perfect home for this wonderful boy, please email Lori at apcatrescue@gmail.com for an application today!

Story
Meet the overly friendly orange tabby boy is Otis. You couldn't ask for a sweeter, outgoing kitty! Otis was rescued from a neighborhood trying to survive outside. He must have been somebody's pet, he adjusts quickly to new people and places. He loves being petted and is happy to be held. Ultimately, all this handsome orange tabby wants is attention from people. Otis gets along well with the other kitties and is often seen rubbing up against them. He just wants to be everybody's friend. He is on the calmer side but does enjoy playtime. His foster mom says he is such a good boy and will be a great addition to any household. We consider Otis special needs because he tested positive for FIV. This is not Feline Leukemia, which he tested negative for. Because he has a very friendly disposition around other cats, he does not pose a risk to transmitting FIV and does not have to be an only cat. FIV is transmitted by deep bite wounds from an infected cat and is prevalent among intact male cats who are fighting for territory and mates. Because of this, if the positive cat is not aggressive toward other cats, it is safe for them to live in a multi-cat home. FIV has a very unfair stigma even within the vet & cat rescue community. We have many current resources on FIV which we'd be happy to refer you to and also many experiences with FIV+ cats. We are hopeful someone will have an open mind (or is already well informed about FIV!) and come to meet Otis. He won't let you down! Otis is about 2.5 years old ( as of 4/1/24), neutered, up to date on vaccinations, negative for FeLV but he is positive for FIV. Don't let that scare you though. Otis can live a normal life even with other cats. To meet the amazing Otis, please email Lori at apcatrescue@gmail.com
