Story
This handsome hunk is Hugo! He was surrendered to the shelter and is now searching for his true furever home. He is a lovebug who absolutely adores attention. He is kid, cat, and dog friendly as well! He has also been trained, but he does need to be crated when left alone, because he is destructive otherwise. True to his breed he can be quite vocal, so apartment living may not be the ideal fit. Hugo is a sweetheart who just wants companionship and a family who will love him for exactly who he is. ---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Meet Chance: Chance is about a 3 year old (as of July 2026) beagle / corgi mix (best guess) that weighs about 25 pounds. Chance was in a group of dogs taken in by animal control in Brownsville, TN. The owner got sick and sadly passed away, leaving multiple unaltered dogs behind that had been living together. Luckily they are now safe in rescue and being cared for. Chance is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Chance is a nice dog that is a great size. Chance is currently house trained to a doggie door and may need patience while adjusting to a new process. We would love for Chance to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can roam and play freely. Chance is up to date on his shots and neutered. If you are interested in adding this sweet man into your life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Popper is an adorable Beagle with a nose that never quits and a heart full of joy. Like a true beagle, he loves snoofing around the field, following exciting scents wherever they lead, and zooming around with happy, floppy-eared enthusiasm. Running and playing are some of his favorite pastimes, especially when he has toys to toss or another dog to chase around. His foster family says he’s the bestest boy, and it’s easy to see why — Popper is ready to bring love, fun, and endless tail wags to his forever home. REQUIREMENTS: Fenced Yard, Another fur buddy Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! I come from the south in a place where dogs are just dogs.  We weren't being treated very nicely so they came and got us thank goodness but then we were in a high kill shelter and that is scary too!!!  Lucky for us 2nd Chance came down to pick up some other lucky dogs and the staff asked if they would take me and Vivian and they said YES YIPEEEEE we were really excited so we hitched a ride to the North and now we are staying in this really nice foster home with a big fenced yard and they let us sleep on these things called "furniture" and they give us good food and we get to do this thing called snuggling with them ahhhh life is sooooo much better!!!! If you would like to meet me and Vivian fill out an application and lets make a date to play :) Cassie & Vivian Bonded PairVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5.
