Meet Benka! If long legs, floppy ears, and a little hound sass are your thing, Benka may be your girl! Benka is a 5-year-old Treeing Walker Hound weighing about 45 lbs. She has the most beautiful long legs and ears—and yes, she absolutely has the classic hound howl. When Benka decides she needs some attention, she has no problem letting you know! She’s an active girl who enjoys getting out and exploring, but once the fun is over, she’s more than happy to settle in for some snuggles. Benka is incredibly smart and has been picking up new tricks and leash walking quickly. She’s eager to learn and loves having something to do. She is to amazing to imagine that she was on the euthanasia list solely for space. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs. Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate.
