Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.8/12/26 WAIVED ADOPTION FEE! Lewis needs some SHARES!! He can’t stay in rescue forever and he’s holding up a spot for others in need. Please note he is NOT a senior! He is only 5 1/2 years old. He was originally adopted from us as a puppy so we know his age. He just got a gray face faster than some. Lewis is a mix of many breeds and weighs about 40 pounds. His previous owners did a DNA test. Unfortunately they only sent us 1 picture with the results which didn’t show all the breeds but it did show treeing Walker Hound, American Foxhound, Plott Hound, Toy Fox Terrier, Bassett Hound, and Parson Russell Terrier. He is very mixed.   He is a happy go lucky dude who is playful and energetic, but can also calm down quickly. Lewis’s favorite past times are lounging on the couch or in a dog bed with a fluffy blanket, chewing on a dog toy, and playing with his foster siblings (dogs). He is good with other dogs, cats and kids, crate and house trained. He’s doing well with his leash manners and very much enjoys going for walks! If you’re looking for a lovable, happy, semi -playful pup who just wants to cuddle and play with toys, Lewis is your guy. Don’t miss out! We also have a few videos of him and more pictures, this site only lets us put 4 pictures. Email us or visit our Facebook to see more pictures- https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064590733954&mibextid=wwXIfr In New England To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
Meet Benka! If long legs, floppy ears, and a little hound sass are your thing, Benka may be your girl! Benka is a 5-year-old Treeing Walker Hound weighing about 45 lbs. She has the most beautiful long legs and ears—and yes, she absolutely has the classic hound howl.  When Benka decides she needs some attention, she has no problem letting you know! She’s an active girl who enjoys getting out and exploring, but once the fun is over, she’s more than happy to settle in for some snuggles. Benka is incredibly smart and has been picking up new tricks and leash walking quickly. She’s eager to learn and loves having something to do.  Dog friendly  Kid friendly  House trained  Crate trained  Smart and learning fast  Active, affectionate, and snuggly  Spayed and current on vaccines  Fostered in Harrisburg, PA While Benka was described as the perfect gal down in her SC shelter, we are struggling to understand how she was on death row before we committed! She is to amazing to imagine that she was on the euthanasia list solely for space. Benka is ready for a family who appreciates everything that makes a hound a hound—the personality, the ears, the adventures, and of course, the occasional AWWOOOO!  Click here to apply: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdw6b5Udog8_TATNSzd1LUDSjf9fSVyl6GsGVbdkihEATIpBg/viewform LIC #9736 We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. Learn more about adopting from us or volunteering for us at www.pack9rescue.org or check us out on Facebook for more information and a complete list of dogs available for adoption.           https://www.facebook.com/PaCaringForK9s/ See upcoming events below where PA Caring for K9’s will be with some of our adoptable dogs! Story
Percy is part of a bonded pair. He comes with his brother Marvin in a separate profile.Marvin (littermates). He's almost 11 months old. Born on 7/24/25. I acquired him and his brother on a visit to see my uncle in NC. He had multiple dogs on his property, one of which had obviously recently given birth. He and his brother were approximately 8 weeks old and were still nursing. I have a large goldendoodle at home and thought it would be crazy to take home a puppy, so I didn't. I thought about them for weeks and ended up returning for another visit and took them both home. I planned to keep Marvin and rehome his brother Percy but when I realized how bonded they were I kept them both. I love them so much . They love my dog and play ALL THE TIME.They are both quite rambunctious and love to play. Percy is the scaredy cat of the group. They are both a bit "barky" but easily corrected. They have some training but def could use more I could write so much more but letters are limited. See videos

Story
Hi, I'm Smore, a 4-year-old chocolate Beagle with a sweet disposition and a nose for adventure! 🐕 I'm friendly with other dogs, so I'd love a home where I can have canine companions to play with. I'm not yet spayed, but that's something your vet can help with as part of settling into your family. With my compact size and lovable nature, I'm ready to bring joy and beagle charm into your life. Come meet me and let's sniff out a wonderful future together! 🐾 This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: Read more about heartworm disease at https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Todd! Todd is a fun-loving pup with a sweet personality and a playful spirit. He gets along wonderfully with other puppies and older dogs, making him a great fit for a home with a canine buddy—or two! Todd’s absolute favorite activity? Sticks! He loves searching the yard for the perfect one and proudly bringing his treasure inside to settle down for a good chew. He’s loving, playful, and ready to find a family to grow up with. If you’re looking for a sweet pup who comes with plenty of personality (and possibly a growing stick collection), Todd may be your perfect match!  Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans.
