Story
Copper is a very good dog and we are devastated that we need to surrender him. He’s very lazy most of the time but enjoys running around outside when given the opportunity to play with kids and/or other dogs. He’s great with children of all ages as well as other pets and chickens. He responds to his name when called, is crate and house trained, knows a few small tricks. We only hope he goes to a very loving home with a family who will take good care of him. It would be great if we’d be able to hear from his new family with updates but it’s not expected.

Story
Gingerbread is a gentle hound mix who has been learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. She can be shy with new people at first, but with patience and consistency, her confidence is steadily growing and she is blossoming beautifully. Watching her take those small steps forward is incredibly rewarding. She is currently still a little nervous on a leash, but Gingerbread is being very brave and working through it beautifully. She does best when given a gentle push to help her realize she’s capable of more than she thinks. Gingerbread will do best in a home with another dog to help her overall confidence and a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to encourage her growth. A quieter, rural or country setting would suit her best right now. Once she feels safe, her personality shines through. Gingerbread is silly, loving, playful and affectionate, and she forms deep bonds with her people. In true hound fashion, she is a foodie, expert snuggler and easily distracted at times. She is looking for an adopter who will be there to cheer her on through every milestone as she settles into a furever home.  Gingerbread is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to join a family. Gingerbread is part of our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with the dog, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending. Welcome to Mostly Muttz Rescue, Crumb! Crumb is a sweet, sensitive girl who’s learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. She’s very shy with people at first and needs time, patience, and understanding to build trust—but once she feels safe, her true personality starts to shine. Crumb loves other dogs and absolutely thrives around them. Having a confident canine companion helps her feel secure and brings out her silly, excited play side. She LOVES playing with dog friends, chewing on her favorite toys, and soaking up the comfort of a familiar routine. Crumb is still building confidence and continuing her socialization, so she’s looking for a calm, patient adopter who will move at her pace and celebrate the small wins along the way.
