You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Miso is truly the sweetest dog and is thriving in her foster home. She has the gentlest soul and absolutely adores people, making her the ultimate cuddle bug. Miso loves being close to her humans, whether that means snuggling on the couch, following you around the house, or soaking up all the affection she can get.   Because Miso is not good with small animals, she will not go to a home with any small animals in the house. She does best in a home with dogs her size or larger who can match her presence and energy. If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate companion with a heart full of sweetness and a passion for cuddles, Miso could be the perfect addition to your family. REQUIREMENTS: Fenced Yard, Another dog her size or larger  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Popper is an adorable Beagle with a nose that never quits and a heart full of joy. Like a true beagle, he loves snoofing around the field, following exciting scents wherever they lead, and zooming around with happy, floppy-eared enthusiasm. Running and playing are some of his favorite pastimes, especially when he has toys to toss or another dog to chase around. His foster family says he’s the bestest boy, and it’s easy to see why — Popper is ready to bring love, fun, and endless tail wags to his forever home. Puddin is a super sweet, energetic dog who loves nothing more than playing and running in wide enclosed space. She would thrive with an active family who can keep up with her playful spirit and love for adventure. Puddin enjoys the company of other dogs, so she definitely needs a canine companion in her home. She isn’t fond of cats, so a cat-free home would be best. With plenty of exercise, love, and playtime, Puddin is ready to be a joyful and loyal part of her forever family. Apple is a lovable little companion who enjoys both playtime and quiet moments. She’ll happily chase toys one minute and curl up in a soft bed for a nap the next. Apple adores being near her people, following them around and soaking up attention, but she’s also happy doing her own thing sometimes. She gets along well with other dogs and seems comfortable around cats. Apple will thrive in a home with a furry friend to share her days with and a securely fenced yard to explore REQUIRES - Fenced yard another dog her size to run with   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. Biscuits beginning wasn't what it should have been :(  She lived in a home with 148 dogs thats right 148 dogs :(  When authorities realized there was a problem these dogs had lived in pure filth for way to long!!!  All dogs were placed in shelters and rescues but they struggled if they were placed in homes that were too quiet and only had one other dog.  Biscuit was adopted and lived with her family for a year who thought they were doing right by her by placing her on drugs for anxiety :(  Poor Biscuit just needed a place where she could have many fur friends and people around 24/7.  The ranch became that perfect haven for her. Biscuit is a joyful, playful dog who adores spending time with other dogs and can play for hours without tiring. She loves running, exploring, and just being near her furry friends. Biscuit doesn’t seem to care much for cats. She must have another dog in her home to keep her company, along with a securely fenced yard where she can safely run and play . MUST have other dogs and a fenced yardVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. Story
Meet Cocoa: Cocoa is an 11 week old (as of February 19, 2026) beagle / hound mix (best guess) that weighs about 12 pounds. Cocoa and her sister, Mocha, were dropped off in a bad section of Memphis and luckily a friend of the rescue saw them, picked them up and contacted us. Cocoa is being fostered in the south and would love to catch the next freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families! Cocoa is a very sweet and friendly baby girl! Cocoa gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home. Cocoa loves people and really loves to play with toys and children. Cocoa does well in a crate. As a puppy, Cocoa will need some patience while she works on her house training. We would love for Cocoa to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run, explore and play freely. Cocoa is up to date on her puppy shots and will need to be spayed when age appropriate. If you are interested in adding this adorable girl into your family, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. CURRENT LOCATION: Tennessee, awaiting transport to PA. ##2664930##
