Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Rosie #10 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 72 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Rosie #10 | 5-year-old, 27-pound Whippet mix | Your sweet little snuggler Rosie is a 5-year-old Whippet mix weighing 27 pounds, and this sweet girl is absolutely overflowing with love! She adores her people and wants nothing more than to be close to them, whether that means curling up beside you or simply hanging out together. Rosie loves giving affection just as much as she loves receiving it, and once she feels comfortable, she’ll happily become your little shadow and professional cuddle buddy. She also enjoys having a pile of plush toys nearby! Rosie can be nervous around new people and in unfamiliar situations, so she may need a little time to warm up. She isn't aggressive; she just needs patience and the chance to settle in at her own pace. Once she feels safe, her sweet, loving personality really shines. Rosie is easygoing when it comes to grooming, vet visits, and handling. She walks nicely on leash and is very aware of her surroundings. She can be a little reactive when other dogs pass by or bark at her, but responds well to redirection. She is also a wonderfully vocal girl who likes to keep her people informed when someone walks by, a visitor arrives, or a delivery shows up at the door. Think of her as your very own little neighborhood watch! Rosie would enjoy having a canine friend but would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only dog, soaking up all the love and attention for herself. She could do well in a home with children of all ages and would make a lovely family companion for kids who want a furry friend to love on. Rosie shows mild interest in her foster family's cat and may occasionally give chase, but she hasn't shown a desire to harm the cat. She could potentially live with a dog-savvy cat who can confidently hold their own around dogs. Because Rosie is vocal, apartment, condo, or townhome living isn't the best fit for her. A house with a yard would be ideal. Rosie is house trained, although accidents can happen as she adjusts to a new home and routine. More than anything, Rosie wants a family to love and a cozy spot where she can be close to her favorite people. If your idea of a perfect evening involves a sweet pup curled up beside you, happily accepting belly rubs and returning the love tenfold, Rosie is ready to steal your heart!   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for Rosie is $400. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 72 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
