Story
Meet Lana! 🐾❤️* This gorgeous 10-year-old girl is a youthful spirit with a heart of gold! Despite her age, Lana's in excellent health and loves to play, run, and shower her humans with sloppy kisses. She's always up for a game of chase. Lana gets along with most dogs and is specially loving with puppies under a year old. She can get triggered by certain dogs, so a patient and experienced owner is a must. She's not super familiar with kiddos, but has been okay with respectful children - lots of adult supervision recommended. The ideal home for Lana is one with space to run, play, and explore! She thrives on strong leadership, structure, and lots of love. If you're up for the adventure, contact us to learn more about this sweet girl and schedule a meet-and-greet!

Story
Roz is a sensitive girl hoping to connect with a fellow introvert! She bonds closely to her primary caregivers and prefers a small social circle. She's smart and athletic, so may enjoy training and home enrichment. Roz may start off a little unsure, but she responds beautifully to a gentle, patient approach. With a slow approach and treats, she is ready to head out for a relaxed, sniffy walk. Out in the grass, she may settle in right beside her handler, content to sit close and watch the world from a comfortable distance. She's a sweet, thoughtful girl who builds trust quietly and shows her affectionate side once she feels safe. Roz will only be rehomed to a family without children or with kids at least 10 years of age, and as the only dog in her new home. She is best suited for a single-family home where there are fewer novel persons to encounter on a daily basis. Primary Color: Red Secondary Color: White Weight: 35.2 Age: 8yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
** If you are interested in Peanut, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness! Peanut is a tiny, almost 8 week old Chihuahua mix puppy who currently weighs just 2 and a half pounds. We expect he'll be a small adult, likely around 10 - 12 pounds when fully grown, though that's just our best estimate. Peanut's mom is full grown at 10lbs. As for breed? Your guess is almost as good as ours! We do not DNA test our rescue dogs, and since the dad is a complete mystery, we can only make educated guesses. Mom appears to be a Chihuahua and Italian Greyhound mix. We suspect the pups could have some Pug in them too. Peanut's story began in rural New Mexico, where his mom was adopted from a shelter that unfortunately does not spay or neuter dogs before adoption. Her adopter had no idea she was pregnant. When life circumstances changed, mom and her litter of six gorgeous, 4 week old puppies were surrendered to one of our rescue partners shelters, and we were able to step in and bring this little family to safety. Peanut is finally ready to go home with his forever family now! Peanut is looking for a family ready for all the fun, laughter, training, and occasional chaos that comes with a young puppy. Puppies require patience, consistency, socialization, training, and lots of love as they learn about the world around them. In return, you'll get the incredible experience of watching a tiny puppy grow into your best friend. We feel that Peanut would do great in a home with someone who works from home, and has the time and energy to train a young puppy. We would feel comfortable with him going to a family with kids 6+ years of age. Since Peanut is just a puppy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. We are not willing to adopt to someone who is unable to commit to taking Peanut to puppy socialization classes and training. Peanut, being so young, will only have his first puppy shot at the time of being ready for adoption. It is VERY important that his adopter get him the 2nd and 3rd shot when those are due. It is SO important to know that Peanut cannot go out on public ground until he has his last 2 booster shots. Peanut is also too young to be neutered at this time. Farfel's does not cover any vaccines after pick up, however we DO cover the full cost of his neuter when that time comes. Neuter is REQUIRED to finalize any adoption. Per the state of Colorado, you will be legally considered a foster until the dog is neutered. Neuter must be done before or by the time he turns 1 year old, NO later. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out 400 dogs each year. Peanut is available for adoption now! If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool we have to determine a great match for this very deserving pup. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
