Story
Pepper has vision. He would prefer to be the only dog. Loves people and cuddling, velcro and will follow you everywhere. Meet Pepper! Pepper was surrendered to a shelter at 13 years old. His history prior to that is unknown. He was saved from the shelter by a local organization who also started his vetting, and he came to us about two weeks later. In spite of all this, Pepper is quite a character! He has a lot of personality, definitely knows what he wants and doesn't want, and will let you know. And what he wants is this ... Pepper feels he has one very important job, and more than anything, he wants to do his job well. That job is to be. with. you. No matter where you are, day or night, Pepper wants to be with you, and he will love you with everything he has in his little 8 pound body. If he is not with you, he will not hesitate to let you know how upset he is. He's a great cuddler and would spend the entire day cuddling in my lap if he could. He would love to keep you warm on those cool fall and winter days! Shortly after arriving at his foster home, Pepper had an urgent dental (20 teeth were extracted, he has six bottom teeth remaining and will need to eat soft food for the rest of his life), was neutered, saw the ophthalmologist (he has nuclear sclerosis in both eyes and a healed corneal ulcer in his right eye), and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), for which he takes Levothyroxine twice a day. He will need to have regular blood work to monitor his thyroid. Two lumps removed from his forehead were apocrine gland cysts and completely benign. He is nicely managed on pain medication and a joint supplement for arthritis and bilateral luxating patellas, and even runs everywhere! He's also attempted, with some success, to climb over baby gates. Pepper goes through phases where he drinks and urinates quite a bit more than usual, but testing so far has not shown a cause. Housebreaking continues to be a slow work in progress and he is unable to go through the night without urinating. Pepper is fine with the other three dogs in his foster home, but is jealous and upset if he is not getting all of the attention. The other three dogs here are timid and small like he is, and if one is where Pepper wants to be, he will just lay down on top of that dog. Pepper would prefer a home where someone is home most of the time and where he could be your only dog, or with only one other quiet small dog. Due to his size, a home without young children is recommended, and he will also require an understanding owner who is able to carefully monitor any changes in his appetite, behavior, or pottying. Pepper reminds me of a used car. He's a bit banged up, scratched, and is missing paint in some areas, but with lots of love and good maintenance, he'll keep going and going and going! :) BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

**LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY** Please apply only if you’re local to Central FL and willing to drive this precious pup to ALL follow-up appointments on our timeline. His neuter (when old enough) + microchip are included with your adoption donation and must be completed with our vet in Central Florida, scheduled by our coordinator. Meet Ron! This 2-month-old Yorkshire Terrier blend is looking for a fun-filled home where he can play the day away!  General Behavior: Ron, like most young pups, spends most of his time zooming around in pure glee, then plopping down next to his human for a good snuggle.  Likes & Dislikes: Ron takes great pleasure in making his squeaky toys squeak, and chewing on his bones. He likes to play with his canine companions and spend time with his humans.  Training: As a young puppy, Ron will require a family committed to teaching him the training basics, including housetraining, leashwalking skills, and overall basic manners. Medical: Ron is a healthy pup and will just require his monthly heartworm and flea preventative. Other Animals: Ron enjoys the company of other dogs and wouldn’t mind sharing his home with another canine pal. He interacts well with felines too! Children: A home with children would be just fine for this cuddly pup! Home: A single-family home or dog-friendly apartment living would be a wonderful fit for Ron. He will require a family that is not away from home for more than 4 hours at a time. As long as he has a patient and committed human that can provide him with the love and training that he needs to be successful, he is sure to thrive in his forever home. Grooming: This friendly puppy should not require any elaborate grooming other than regular brushing, baths, and nail trims. Overall: Ron is a playful and outgoing pup on the search for a family that can provide him with lots of toys and unlimited snuggles. Is that you? Are you the one for Ron? Visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with his foster family if it’s a potential match. He will need to return to our Central Florida vet for his neuter and microchip (when old enough). This is all covered with his adoption donation of $550. ##1996419##

Story
Meet Bunny! This 1 and a half-year-old Yorkshire Terrier blend gal weighs 12 lbs. Bunny is a sweet pooch with a loving heart that is on the search for a human with a kind soul to give her the love and care she deserves. General Behavior: Bunny is a laid-back girl who thrives in the same type of environment. She’s a delightful pup once she's comfortable with you, and you may even find yourself with a little shadow after some time! Likes & Dislikes: Bunny likes slow pets and ear scratches. She isn’t a fan of the “hustle and bustle” of busy households and prefers to have a calm place to relax and a comfy blanket to snooze on. Training: Beautiful Bunny has good basic manners and has shown them off in her foster home. She does well with her house-training when let out frequently and sleeps in her own comfy space with cozy blankets at night. Bunny is still working on her confidence and social skills. She is not yet comfortable going on long walks and needs a patient human to encourage her as well as give her space when needed. Medical: Bunny is a healthy pooch and will just require her monthly heartworm and flea preventative. Other Animals: This tender-hearted girl gets along well with other dogs and wouldn’t mind having another canine companion in her forever home. She also does well with cats. Children: A home without young children is required for Bunny. Older children (8+) who can understand her dislike for loud noises, fast movements, etc., would be okay. Home: A love-filled family is most important for Bunny. A secure home that can provide her with encouragement and reassurance is imperative. Grooming: This gorgeous gal will just require regular baths and nail trims, as well as occasional brushing to keep her coat in tip-top shape. Overall: Bunny is sure to make a wonderful companion for a family looking for an easy-going and sweet pooch! Are you the one for Bunny? Visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with her foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed, heartworm negative, and just had her teeth professionally cleaned. Her adoption donation is $450. ##1996417##

Story
Meet Diva, a sweet 15-year-old Yorkie who will be celebrating her 16th birthday in July. Diva is a loving and kind companion who is in search of a new home where she can enjoy her senior years with the love and attention she deserves. Unfortunately, due to my circumstances as a mom of two small children, I haven't been able to provide her with the walks and care she needs, and as I'm moving to a new location where dogs aren't allowed, I'm hoping to find her a loving new family. Diva gets along well with other pets and children, and while she mostly keeps to herself, she adores snuggling. She's a quiet girl who never barks or bites, and she's perfectly content to use a pee pad if she can't go for walks as frequently. She'll bring so much love and joy to her new home, and I'm sure she'll make a wonderful addition to any family willing to open their hearts to her.

Story
Nigel is being fostered in PA. Nigel is a sweet little boy! He loves playing(chewing) toys. 😂 He loves being outside and especially loves walks! He loves to snuggle next to you on the sofa. He is dog and cat friendly. He likes to chase my cats, but he is actually playing with them. He gets very excited when it's time to eat and will stand up on his hind legs and beg. He is very active for 10 years old. He does have impaired vision but gets around very well. Nigel is on drops for dry eye and may need sedation before grooming. He will have a dental prior to adoption. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
