Story
Girl is a sweet old lady, with a wonderful story. Yes her name is Girl. Girl has been in our family for 13yrs. She was found on the street in Las Vegas. My son brought her to my then 13yr old daughter, she was a great companion for my daughter since I worked long hours. We have since moved to Minnesota and my daughter is now 27 with a daughter (1yr) of her own. My daughter moved back to Las Vegas and I travel for work, Girl has traveled and hung out with some awesome people. She is still spunky and enjoys sitting in the sun. She does not like long walks. She enjoys sleeping on the couch. She is in the kennel at night or when home alone because she has had accidents in the house. She is very sweet and I hate having to surrender her but it’s not fair for her to live her last couple of years feeling alone. You will truly love her. GIRL is awesome

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hello there! I'm Blossom, the sweet Yorkie with an appetite for treats and a heart ready to bloom. Let me tell you a bit about myself, and I'm sure you'll see the potential for a beautiful friendship. But read carefully as I do have some behavioral issues and will need to go to a very special forever home. I'm a 9-pound bundle of sweetness, and my name says it all—Awesome Blossom! I'm house trained and have the whole crate routine down, although I've recently discovered the joy of comfy beds and couches. My love for treats knows no bounds, and my humans find my little dances and animated antics quite amusing. I'm a quiet companion who loves being your shadow. If food is involved, count me in! Napping in my cozy beds is a favorite pastime, and I hope my gentle snoring won't keep you up. I'm a good girl, but there's a unique quirk – I'm afraid of touch. However, I make up for it with adorable bumps on your hand and leg, especially if you're fixing my food. I love other dogs and currently share my space with two furry friends. Snuggling with them is one of my favorite activities. Did I mention how much I love to eat? Veggies and fruits are on my menu too, all part of staying healthy! It is very important to know that while some might see my fear of touch as a challenge, others believe in my potential to blossom, hence the name. I'm trying my best to trust and be part of a loving family. Due to my fear of touch, grooming requires a bit of extra attention. But don't worry, my foster mom can fill you in on the details. Invest your time with me, and I'm sure the rewards will be plentiful. I might have my quirks, but I'm your Blossom! Let's make memories together. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) for an Adoption Event on Sunday July 21st 10:30-11:30 am. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Hi there, lovely humans! My name is Tiffany, and I'm here to steal your heart with my sweet and loving personality. I may be small, weighing in at just 9 lbs, but my heart is as big as can be! I absolutely adore being held and cuddled, and I could spend hours sitting on your lap or snuggled up next to you. Belly rubs? Oh, they're my absolute favorite! Just give me some pets, and I'll be your best friend forever. At home, I get along great with my furry siblings, both resident pups and other foster friends. I haven't met a pup I don't like.  I'm still working on being comfortable when left alone, so I might get a little vocal, but I'm making great progress every day!  I let my foster mom know I don't like it when she leaves but it doesn't take long and I lay down and take a nap.  My ideal forever home is with someone that is home a lot so I don't get worried.   I think it would be fun having some human siblings that want to play with me.  I am very gentle and love everyone.   When it comes to treats, I'm not too picky—I'll gobble up anything you give me! But my favorite thing in the world? Being held close and showered with love. As for potty training, I have made great progress.  I go to the door and let my foster mom know I have to go potty.  If my foster mom doesn't see me at the door I will use a potty pad but my foster mom is helping me learn to go outside like a big girl.  And speaking of learning, I've made some huge strides with crate training! Eating in my kennel used to freak me out, but now I run to my kennel as fast as I can.  I love meal time!!.  I have also learned how nice and relaxing it can be to take naps in my kennel.      My foster mom is happy to report I am doing great at leash training.  I really enjoy going for walks with my other furry friends.  I especially love it when we see other pups on our walks.  I want to play with everyone!  My foster mom thinks I don't hear as well as I should.  I only hear loud noises. Having a home with another pup would be helpful for me.  I learn so much more from watching them.    Overall, I'm just a sweet, cute, and loving girl who's ready to find her forever family. With a little patience and a whole lot of love, I know I'll fit right in. So what do you say? Are you ready to welcome a precious pup like me into your home? Love and tail wags, Tiffany *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi I'm Mardi!  When I came into rescue I was hiding a tummy full of babies.  I raised them up and now it's finally my turn to find my family.  At home I'm a pretty happy outgoing lady.  I have those cute happy body wiggles and and my happy dance that makes my foster mom smile. I give her lots of finger kisses so she knows I love her.  I love being outside so I can snooze in the sun and run with my doggie friends.  I can be a bit bossy sometimes with certain doggie friends.  Usually it's when they get too rowdy, so slower paced, non rambunctious friends are best.  I can also be an only dog too.  I enjoy ear scratches and treats.  A nice chew bone is always nice too!  I can be a quiet little lady or I can be a little sassy.  What can I say when I want to have fun, I want to have fun! I'm working on potty training, but I do understand that I should go when outside.  I do well in my kennel and will usually nap if you need to leave me.  I haven't had much practice on leash, but I'm ready to learn.  I promise to be a good student! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.  Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       Hi, my name is Killian and I’m hoping you can help me find my people.  I’m new here and an a little unsure at this point as there are so many changes. Some might call me a little anxious.  That being said, I hope to find a patient family that will give me time to come out of my shell.  Not only will I need that but also another dog in the home to help me learn all the necessary things of being in your family and help me gain confidence.  So far while in my foster home, I have been mirroring the other dogs and just started playing with toys which is something I haven’t done before.  That’s a big step for an anxious pup!  I love eating but taking treats from people’s hands is still a struggle.  But my discovery of toys shows that I am very capable of all the good things life has to offer us both. One of those favorites is sunbathing on the deck!  Ah, the bliss of it all! While here I have been going potty both on a potty pad and outside, so I’m a work in progress. I know once I am settled in my forever home and on a good routine I will figure it out. We are working on crate training – not my favorite thing. So, shared walls night be a problem as I like to bark while crated.  Oh and I should mention that due to my anxiety, I’ll need a fenced yard so I don’t zip off in a moment of fear. I’m busy studying the commands and have picked up quite a few: come, kennel, outside and go potty! Overall I’m really a sweet little guy who is making progress and loves being told I’m a good boy. All I need now is a forever family with lots of patience, love and a furry friend to show me the ropes. Can’t wait to meet you! *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! P lease note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi there! My name is Challah, and I'm a seven-year-old Yorkie weighing in at a petite 8 pounds. Let me tell you a little about myself. I'm a shy, friendly and curious girl with lots of energy. I am learning every day that people can be trusted. When I'm at home, I enjoy being near my favorite humans and getting all the cuddles I can. I'm still figuring out what toys and treats are all about, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it soon! I'm great dogs of all sizes. In fact, I require a doggy sibling in my new home to help me feel more secure, learn to get on a routine and help me learn to trust people. I'm respectful of cats too, and I always make sure to give them their space. While I'm not potty trained just yet, I'm very close, especially when kept on a good schedule. I'm also crate trained, so I have a cozy little space of my own. I do need a fenced yard because I'm not leash trained and can be a bit fearful of new things, making me a flight risk. For now, I only go outside in the safety of a fenced area. I want you to know that although I am timid, I am incredibly loving and enjoy being close to my humans as much as possible. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who just needs a bit of patience and love, I'm your girl! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Hi My name is Jojo From his foster: Jojo is a sweet, old man! He's lived a long life, so he knows what he likes and doesn't like! He loves attention but he doesn't like sharing it! He's been known to get a little snarly when his foster brother gets scratches from the humans! What can he say, Jojo loves to be the center of attention!! He's a great lap dog. Jojo is not a big fan of his crate, but does love to be left home alone with his foster brother! If he isn't with another dog he will howl and howl! Because of this, he would do best with another furry friend in the house. The furry friend should be smaller, non-reactive, and submissive. He hasn't been tested with cats, but I think he would prefer to be without them. He's got a very high prey drive and barks at pretty much anything he sees that isn't a dog his size! He is not a fan of big dogs either, but could possibly warm up to them with slow intros. He loves to snuggle up with his person and sleeps a lot. He enjoys walks outside, but he's definitely not running buddy! Jojo has arthritis and does best when he can be active but nothing too strenuous. He has a bit of a difficult time with stairs and often falls while using them due to a weak hip. Because of this, he would do best in a house with very few stairs. Jojo has cataracts in both eyes which limits his vision. He cannot see in the dark and becomes very afraid. We carry him when it is dark, and he should not be by stairs when it is dark. Jojo wears belly bands inside when left alone for more than an hour or so. He's got an elderly bladder! He sometimes has poo accidents inside too. Jojo has some health concerns that we are keeping an eye on. He has fatty masses, hair loss, and low pressure in his eyes. He has allergies of some sort that seem to be slightly improved with Apoquel. The vet says he will need a dental cleaning and probably some extractions. To sum it all up, Jojo's ideal forever home would include: -One other small dog in the home (dog must be willing to let Jojo rule the roost and get all the attention he wants!) -Limited stairs or ability to block them off -Someone willing to follow up with his medical needs -A family who loves to cuddle! Overall, he is a special and sweet boy! He is a big time snuggler and will give you all his love!

Story
Hi! My name is Sebastian and I am from Minnesota. From the foster: Sebastian is a sweet old man. He's very active for his age but also enjoys a good nap. He LOVES to have his head and ears scratched and will insist you continue scratching. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and runs with them to announce the arrival of the mail carrier. He has small tennis balls that he likes to chase and play with. Sebastian loves his dog beds and will also rest in his crate. He doesn't jump up on furniture but likes to be picked up and put next to you on the couch for some pets and scratches. He loves to be outside and is good about eliminating outside when put outside but doesn't have a signal to go out. He wears a belly band to help prevent messes inside. We haven't gone on walks outside but when the weather warms up he may enjoy neighborhood strolls. He gets very excited when his foster mom puts on shoes - hoping to go for an adventure. He had a dental the beginning of February and is now a toothless wonder with the cutest 'tongue out' smile. The good news is he no longer has mouth pain and there is no need for expensive dentals in the future! Sebastian had surgery to remove bladder stones and will need to be on a prescription diet to prevent the bladder stones from re-forming. He likes his prescription kibble but does yearn for table scraps (sadly, no!). Although Sebastian is older he still can hear! And, the really amazing thing is that he is a good listener! Is a calm, gentle, older pup what's missing from your current adventures? Sebastian loves to meet new friends! Medical Bio: "Hi, I'm Sebastian, a senior sweetie looking for my forever home! I had a few medical struggles while I have been with The Bond Between that my future adopters should be aware of before taking me home. I had a mass that needed evaluation and it was determined that I needed a dental procedure. During my first few weeks in my foster home I also started to show concerning urinary symptoms such as blood in my urine. It was determined that I had crystals and stones in my bladder. I had an urgent surgery to address the stones as well as get the mass removed. The initial cytology showed cells that were consistent with a cancerous mass. After this surgery I was started on a urinary diet that I will need to be on for a minimum of another month or as much as lifelong to manage any further possible urinary complications/stone formation. The mass was fully removed with good margins and The BB Vet is confident that this is a curative measure for this type of mass. My future adopter should monitor me for any further masses that may arise and have them evaluated by a primary care veterinarian. My dental procedure took place in February and I have been doing well ever since! Hope to meet some new people soon to find my forever home in my golden years!"

Story
Meet Annie, an 8-year-old sweetheart with a playful personality. Annie came to us after her elderly owner was displaced by Hurricane Beryl and had to make the difficult decision to give her up. Despite her age and needing to shed a few pounds, Annie’s zest for life remains undiminished. Annie weighs about 20 pounds right now, but would be happier and healthier around 12-14 pounds. While her vision and hearing aren’t as sharp as they once were, it doesn’t slow her down one bit.Annie adores attention and will stand on her hind legs for pets and treats. She loves to snuggle and will happily fall asleep in your arms while being petted. She’s house trained, uses a doggie door, and sleeps quietly in her kennel through the night. Annie does need regular grooming to keep her coat in tip top shape.Annie gets along well with other dogs, though she can be a bit intimidated by larger ones. She’s great with all people and always has a happy demeanor. Annie will make a wonderful companion and is ready to bring joy to her forever home.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.July 21, 2024, 10:31 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey there, I'm Morty, the charming Maltese on the lookout for my forever home. Let me give you the scoop on what makes me special. At 7 pounds and 7 years young, I may be small, but my personality is mighty. I'm friendly, curious, and playful—always up for a good time! Despite my luxating knees, I don't let it slow me down. With a little extra care and some glucosamine, I'm ready to tackle life head-on. I'm a social butterfly who loves making new friends, whether they're furry or not. Playing with other dogs and even cats? Count me in! Squeaky toys are my jam, and I'll happily gather them in my favorite bed for a play session. Plus, I'm a foodie at heart—I'll devour treats, fruits, and peanut butter like there's no tomorrow. While I may not be a fan of the kiddos under 12, I'm still working on mastering the art of potty training. I'm a quick learner, though, and with a little patience and consistency, I'll get there in no time. At night, I sleep quietly in my kennel, but I might get a bit chatty when I hear someone stirring in the morning. Now, about those stairs—I'm still getting the hang of them. I prefer homes with minimal stairs to spare my precious knees, but don't worry, I don't mind being carried. And if you lay out a trail of rugs on those slippery floors, I'll be forever grateful, especially in the kitchen where I love to supervise meal prep. In a nutshell, I'm cute, snuggly, and full of personality. I adore cuddling on the couch and striking my best playboy pose when you want to scoop me up. So, if you're ready to open your heart and home to a furry friend like me, let's make it happen! This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses . Hi there! My name is Jean, and I'm a timid and loving 6-year-old female Maltese Mix with a lot of love to give. I weigh around 13 lbs, making me the perfect size for snuggles and playtime. Let me tell you a bit about myself! I absolutely love being outside and running around in a fenced yard. Toys of all kinds are my favorite, and you'll often find me playing with them happily. When I'm not playing, I enjoy relaxing and soaking up some sun. I can be a little shy, especially when there is overwhelming commotion or with quick motions, but once I feel comfortable, I open up and show my sweet and loving personality. I'm potty trained using both a potty pad and go outside, I will need a little more practice in my forever home to stay on a routine. I'm also crate trained and know the command for "kennel/crate" as well as a command for "outside." While I enjoy my crate, I do prefer being out and about with my humans. A fenced yard is essential for me because I'm not leash trained and can be fearful of new things, making me a flight risk. I don't need to be placed in a home with another dog, but I do love human company and would thrive in a home where my people are around most of the time. I only bark when I'm alarmed, so I'm generally a quiet companion. I'm very sweet and loving, and with a bit of patience and understanding, I blossom into a wonderful, loyal friend. If you're looking for a gentle and affectionate companion who will bring joy and love to your home, I'm your girl! Love,  Jean *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.
