Story
Meet Benny, a 6-year-old Yorkshire Terrier with a heart full of love and a gentle, easygoing spirit. Benny came to us after his beloved owner passed away, and he’s now looking for a new family to shower with affection. He’s incredibly sweet, loves being close to people, and enjoys a calm environment. Benny does have a condition called tracheal collapse, which is common in small breeds like him. It causes a coughing or honking sound, especially when he's excited or pressure is placed on his neck. Using a harness, keeping him at a healthy weight, and scheduling regular vet checkups once or twice a year will help manage the condition. Benny still has so much love to give and is ready to be someone’s loyal little companion. He would also love to go home with his sister Gertie, a small wirehair terrier.

Story
*Name: Coco *Age: 12 years old *Current Weight: 17 lbs *Adoption fee: $300 Coco is a lovable 12-year-old Yorkie mix originally rescued from Texas. Don’t let his age fool you – Coco is full of energy and lives for adventure! He’s house-trained and does well on a leash, but his favorite thing in the world is running freely and exploring off-leash. He especially enjoys long hikes through the woods, where he can show off his youthful spirit. Coco’s playful side shines through when he’s chasing plush squeaky toys (though the squeaker doesn’t stand a chance!) or playing fetch. Belly rubs are his ultimate weakness – he will soak up every ounce of affection you have to give. With easy-to-maintain, non-shedding hair, Coco is a dream for grooming and is well-behaved during vet and groomer visits. He’s spent the last five years happily living with kids aged 8-13 and currently resides peacefully with another small dog. Coco is closely bonded with his best friend Roxie, an 8-year-old Min Pin mix. Together, they are an affectionate, loyal duo who thrive in a home where someone is around often to shower them with love and companionship. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful pair to brighten your days, Coco and Roxie are ready to be your forever companions. Apply today and let them fill your home with joy! Story
Leo and Piper 6 years old 11 and 9 pounds Leo is good with dogs and loves to play Piper is calm and is a little possessive of her home. Leo has a playful heart and wants to fetch and play with his BALL constantly. After several throws, he may get tired and hide his ball so that he can rest. Leo is such a good boy and needs attention that he no longer gets since all of the children have grown up and moved away. He has an ear that always stands at attention and is slightly larger than the average Yorkie weighing in at about 11 lbs. Piper is calm and loving compared to Leo...who is energetic. She prefers to cuddle, snuggle and be petted. She is eager to find a bed to lie on, preferably on top the highest pillow, and will be devoted to her human forever. Piper is the smaller of the two being around 9 Ibs and takes on more of the traditional Yorkie look. Despite their separate demeanors, it is preferred that they remain together for they have never been separated. They both walk well on a leash and we will only adopt them to the same home...we will NOT separate. Story
This is "Oreo". Oreo is a Yorkie. She is 2-3 years old and she weighs about 13 pounds. Oreo is a very friendly and sweet little girl. Sadly, Oreo comes to us from a very neglectful home. It is hard to believe that a cute little dog like Oreo could be so neglected. We think Oreo has never been to a veterinarian. Well, we took care of that! Oreo went to the veterinarian and she got her shots and she tested negative for heartworm and she was given a heartworm preventative. Oreo will be spayed at the next available opening. We also think Oreo has never been to a groomer. Well, we took care of that too! Oreo went to the groomer and she got the works! Oreo got a bath, she got a beautiful haircut and she even got her nails clipped (no nail polish though!). The first picture of Oreo is Oreo in the car on her way home from the groomer! She sure looks great, she feels better and she is very happy! In Oreo's new home, children must be 6 years old or older. Oreo will make a great companion for someone. She does need someone that will have time for her and does not work all day, maybe works a half day, because she still needs some "potty" training. You MUST own your own home. You MUST own your own condo. Absolutely no apartments. To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference in your own name. We will not place any animal without a veterinarian reference. We get a veterinarian reference from your veterinarian which is a history of medical care administered by your veterinarian to your present or previous pet or pets. Please do not contact us if you cannot abide by our adoption rules. The adoption fee for Oreo is $450.00. No credit cards. If you are interested in Oreo, please email us at feline55keeper@gmail.com. Oreo can be seen by appointment or you can meet her on Saturday at Petco located at 201 Union Street in Waterbury during our adoption hours from 12:00 to 3:00. Oreo sure hopes to see you! IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE STRESS THAT IN ORDER TO ADOPT FROM US, YOU MUST HAVE A VETERINARIAN REFERENCE...NO EXCEPTIONS!

Story
This is "Harley". Harley is a Yorkie mix. He is 3 years old and he weighs about 13 pounds. Harley is a great, sweet little dog. Harley comes to us from a neglectful home. It is hard to believe that a cute, good little guy like Harley would be so neglected. He was never taken to a veterinarian. He has no clue what good food is. And, with table food, he is not sure about it because it tastes completely different to him. Since Harley has been with us, he has not barked once! He is a happy little guy and he has no problem sharing his space with the other animals. Harley is not used to a collar and leash but he is getting used to it. In Harley's new home, children must be 6 years old or older. You MUST own your own home. You must own your own condo. Absolutely no apartments. Harley went to the veterinarian and he got neutered, he got his shots, he tested negative for heartworm and he was wormed. To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference in your own name.
