Story
Chip is a smart, cute honorary dachshund. He’s actually a wee little 8lb, 7 year old yorkie who landed with Little Paws after his owner sadly went into hospice care. Despite having a rough time losing his human and his home, he still likes to play with his toys, and is a good companion. He’s looking for a family to keep company relaxing at home and on short walks.  Environment Chip needs to be kept on a routine to stay in good house training habits, and he’s been marking due to his recent upheaval but didn’t do this in his previous home. He will use potty pads or belly bands if necessary, but he hates to be crated. Chip is very smart and trainable. He just needs someone that is patient and loving while he adjusts to a whole new life. He would do best in a home with a fenced yard as he can be reactive walking on the leash. A yard isn’t required as long as his new family are patient with his walking abilities. Shared walls are ok too as he’s mostly chill.  Pets & People Chip needs someone that is home a lot, retired or works from home. He gets anxious when left behind. He likes visitors and will greet them vocally at first, but hasn’t met any children. He plays well with the other dogs in his foster home, but we are told he can be selective! He has no issues around guarding toys or food and is gentle with treats.  Health You’ll probably want Chip to wear a belly band while he gets used to his new home.  Location Chip is available for adoption from Key Largo, FL and willing to travel. Please email Juliejohnson@littlepawsdr.org with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Chip is $250.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 12:44 pm

Story
Hello, wonderful people! My name is Reuben, and I'm on a mission to find my paw-fect forever home. At 13 years young Yorkie and weighing about 19 pounds, I may be small in size, but my heart is overflowing with love and affection. Despite my age and the cataracts, I'm still full of love and charm, ready to bring joy into the lives of those around me. You see, I haven't had the easiest journey. I was found as a stray, wandering the streets alone. But now, thanks to the kindness of some compassionate souls, I'm searching for a loving family to call my own. I get along famously with other dogs, making me the perfect companion for furry siblings. With your patience and understanding, I know I can thrive in a home filled with warmth and affection. So, if you're ready to open your heart to a sweet senior like me, fill out an adoption application today! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Murphy Joe, rescued on 1/13/24, is an extremely sweet but still a little shy, black and tan, male yorkie born on 3/31/22. He loves to snuggle once you pick him up and he is starting to act playful with his foster mom. He weighed 8.4 pounds on 1/15/24. Due to his small size he will not be considered for homes with young children. He was neutered, had a small growth removed from his eyelid, and given a dental on 2/9/24. He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped. His adoption donation is $800 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Murphy Joe, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer will contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
