At 8 years young, this charming Yorkie has a heart as big as her personality, even if it needs a little extra care these days. Her favorite mode of transportation is in your arms and her gentle spirit is looking for a quiet place to enjoy her golden years with plenty of lap time and soft blankets. Understanding Yoko’s Needs Yoko has been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). While it sounds daunting, many senior dogs lead comfortable, happy lives with the right management. To keep her feeling her best, her care routine includes: • Consistent Medication: Maintaining a strict schedule for her heart medications is vital to help her heart pump efficiently and manage fluid buildup. • A Low-Sodium Diet: High salt intake can lead to fluid retention, so Yoko sticks to a specialized heart-healthy diet and treats. • Exercise Management: While she still enjoys a slow sniff-around the yard, Yoko needs a "low-impact" lifestyle to avoid overexertion. • Monitoring Resting Respiratory Rate: One of the best ways to track her health is by watching how many breaths she takes per minute while sleeping. • A Stress-Free Environment: Keeping life calm and predictable helps ensure her heart isn't under unnecessary strain. Despite her diagnosis, Yoko’s tail hasn't stopped wagging. She is ready to soak up all the love and scritches you have to offer! Meet Gwyneth!Gwyneth is a 7 year old Yorkie mix little girl, who was rescued from a breeder. As such she will need a home that is very patient with her. She’s still learning to trust people; she doesn’t come to you willingly, but she will follow you at a safe distance. She is skittish around men. She is crate trained and will go into her crate willingly when she needs a break. She is dog friendly. She uses potty pads almost completely. She is food motivated, so that has helped with training. She did have to have 5 teeth pulled, but this has not caused her any problems eating dry food. She has been spayed and all her vaccines are up-to-date. With time and patience, she will be the sweetest pup.
