Story
Pepper has vision. He would prefer to be the only dog. Loves people and cuddling, velcro and will follow you everywhere. Meet Pepper! Pepper was surrendered to a shelter at 13 years old. His history prior to that is unknown. He was saved from the shelter by a local organization who also started his vetting, and he came to us about two weeks later. In spite of all this, Pepper is quite a character! He has a lot of personality, definitely knows what he wants and doesn't want, and will let you know. And what he wants is this ... Pepper feels he has one very important job, and more than anything, he wants to do his job well. That job is to be. with. you. No matter where you are, day or night, Pepper wants to be with you, and he will love you with everything he has in his little 8 pound body. If he is not with you, he will not hesitate to let you know how upset he is. He's a great cuddler and would spend the entire day cuddling in my lap if he could. He would love to keep you warm on those cool fall and winter days! Shortly after arriving at his foster home, Pepper had an urgent dental (20 teeth were extracted, he has six bottom teeth remaining and will need to eat soft food for the rest of his life), was neutered, saw the ophthalmologist (he has nuclear sclerosis in both eyes and a healed corneal ulcer in his right eye), and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), for which he takes Levothyroxine twice a day. He will need to have regular blood work to monitor his thyroid. Two lumps removed from his forehead were apocrine gland cysts and completely benign. He is nicely managed on pain medication and a joint supplement for arthritis and bilateral luxating patellas, and even runs everywhere! He's also attempted, with some success, to climb over baby gates. Pepper goes through phases where he drinks and urinates quite a bit more than usual, but testing so far has not shown a cause. Housebreaking continues to be a slow work in progress and he is unable to go through the night without urinating. Pepper is fine with the other three dogs in his foster home, but is jealous and upset if he is not getting all of the attention. The other three dogs here are timid and small like he is, and if one is where Pepper wants to be, he will just lay down on top of that dog. Pepper would prefer a home where someone is home most of the time and where he could be your only dog, or with only one other quiet small dog. Due to his size, a home without young children is recommended, and he will also require an understanding owner who is able to carefully monitor any changes in his appetite, behavior, or pottying. Pepper reminds me of a used car. He's a bit banged up, scratched, and is missing paint in some areas, but with lots of love and good maintenance, he'll keep going and going and going! :) BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Selma is 12 years old and weighs 12lbs. Per Wisdom Panel she is a mix of 5 different breeds with the main breeds being Yorkshire Terrier and Miniature Poodle. If we had to describe her in one word, it would be SWEET! Selma does not have a mean bone in her body. Selma is blind and almost completely deaf, as she can only hear very loud noises. Even though she is blind, she navigates her surroundings great. She is also diabetic, so she requires two insulin shots a day as well as prescription food. We know this sounds scary to potential adopters. Her foster mom had never administered insulin shots before but said the needles are so tiny, and Selma never fusses when receiving them. Selma is fantastic around other dogs. She does not play with them but will happily snuggle up with another dog in a dog bed. She is also great with everyone she meets! Selma is gentle, independent, and so sweet. She spends most of her days napping in a dog bed but occasionally likes sit on a lap and get pets. She is not potty trained, but as long as she is taken out any time she wakes up from a nap, she doesn’t have any accidents. We realize that Selma has a lot stacked against her - age, blind, deaf, diabetic, and not potty trained. However, she is a special girl with so much love to give. Her forever home is out there somewhere. If you are interested in adopting Selma, please submit an adoption application at www.rescuerowinc.org!  *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash, zelle, venmo or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##1849750##

Story
Now that she has recovered from her eye removal and dental, Wanda is ready to find her forever home! She is 12 years old and weighs 19lbs. Per Wisdom Panel she is mostly a Yorkie/Poodle mix, but has a little bit of Cocker Spaniel and Chihuahua mixed in! Wanda has never met a stranger. She happily greets everyone she meets with tail wags and sometimes kisses. She does great with other dogs, both big and small. We believe she would do well with anyone in her forever home, including kids, cats, and other dogs. Wanda’s foster family says that she is very laid back and mellow. However, she gets super excited for meal time! She will occasionally try to play outside with her foster parents or with the other dogs in the home, but these bursts of playfulness are few and far between. She is less of a lap dog than her buddies, Willis and Naomi, and instead prefers to sleep in a dog bed on the floor. Wanda does not require a kennel and sleeps in a dog bed on the floor all night. She does not have potty accidents in the house, but only as long as she is taken out regularly, as she will not alert her fosters when she needs to go out. She had to have her right eye removed, but her vision is normal out of her left. Due to her age, her hearing is not where it used to be, but she is not deaf. Wanda is a chill, independent girl who her foster family says someone will be lucky to have. If you are interested in adopting this sweet senior, please visit rescuerowinc.org to fill out an application! *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. Story
Meet Tucker, an adorable, shy 8 month old, 6 pound Yorkie boy being fostered in McKinney, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Tucker is 8 months old and weighs in at a whopping 6 pounds. He most likely wont get any bigger. He is just the cutest little pup. His former Mom has kept him UTD with all his shots and got him microchipped. He just needs to get neutered and he will be good to go. Tucker is so adorable but so so shy and timid right now. He is exploring his new home. We dont know if he is potty trained yet. He is just watching the resident and foster dogs right now and is so unsure of himself and where he is. In the meantime you can reach out to Foster Mom with your questions at stickhors@gmail.com. There is also a link for his UYR application at the end of his bio. The adoption application is the first step we take. He is a cutie so get your application in soon.

Story
Chip Grey is a 4 year old Schnauzer Yorkie mix with a sweet, funny personality to make your heart melt.  He loves to play with his foster brothers and sisters... but his favorite thing to do is sit in your lap and sleep right next to you!  He insists!  If you're watching tv or reading, he wants to be right next to you or in your lap.  He welcomes you home with bounces!   Chip loves toys and sitting at the window or door to see people go by. He walks great on a leash and does excellent on car rides.  He does shed some but with regular brushing his coat is lovely. Chip would be an ideal companion for a loving couple or individual - but in exchange he will need three things:  1)  Time to adjust to you and your home.  2) Trust that you won't let random people pick him up just becuase he's cute and little 3) Time to adjust to you and your home (bears repeating).  If you do these things you'll have a dog who'll love you unconditionally.   Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org   ##1152540##
