Story
Now that she has recovered from her eye removal and dental, Wanda is ready to find her forever home! She is 12 years old and weighs 19lbs. We are guessing she is a Miniature Schnauzer/Yorkshire Terrier mix. Wanda has never met a stranger. She happily greets everyone she meets with tail wags and sometimes kisses. She does great with other dogs, both big and small. We believe she would do well with anyone in her forever home, including kids, cats, and other dogs. Wanda’s foster family says that she is very laid back and mellow. However, she gets super excited for meal time! She will occasionally try to play outside with her foster parents or with the other dogs in the home, but these bursts of playfulness are few and far between. She is less of a lap dog than her buddies, Willis and Naomi, and instead prefers to sleep in a dog bed on the floor. Wanda does not require a kennel and sleeps in a dog bed on the floor all night. She does not have potty accidents in the house, but only as long as she is taken out regularly, as she will not alert her fosters when she needs to go out. She had to have her right eye removed, but her vision is normal out of her left. Due to her age, her hearing is not where it used to be, but she is not deaf. Wanda is a chill, independent girl who her foster family says someone will be lucky to have. *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row):
Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee
Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee
Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
