Story
Meet Shadow Nickname: His Royal Highness Breed: Yorkie mix Rescue: Albert's Dog Lounge Age: 15 years old (and I still get my 10000 steps in, which for humans would be 5000-those extra 2 legs doubles the number) Weight: 12 pounds (I am small but mighty) History: Shadow was surrendered to a shelter in Louisiana and brought up to Wisconsin to find his forever home. We think he was mistreated so he will need a patient adopter so he can discover you are safe. Medical issues: Stage 2/3 kidney disease that is being managed with food and supplements. My hearing is not exceptional and I startle when there are loud noises. Foster home: Whitewater, WI Activity level: Low to moderate. I love a good snooze but am always up for a walk and few sets of zoomies in the back yard Friendly with: adults and older kids. Other dogs cramp my style and I was being smacked around by a cat at another place so I am not fond of furry felines Sleep style: I'm sort of like Goldilocks and like to try out a few select areas before I make my choice for the day. I will sleep on the bed with you until you fall asleep and then hop to the floor to find my snuggly bed. Meals: canned Zignature and pork rwbble. Snore-o-meter: 0 Bark-o-meter: 3 (I am quiet most of the time but will howl for a bit when you leave. Once I am comfortable with my house I don't howl because I know you are coming back) Shedding meter: 4 (I need my soft fur gently brushed and occasional grooming) Fashion: I am sure I will explore this further when that stuff called snow starts falling. At that point, as long as it is warm-that's my fashion. Signature color: Black, of course (see below) Fun fact: you cannot see me in a dark room or when it is dark outside because I am a ninja! Walk out song: Go Ninja Go by Vanilla Ice Favorite season: Autumn (hot weather is nice but a cool Autumn breeze is perfect for napping) Personality: a bit aloof until I know you are safe, but if you pick up the leash, or are going outside, I will be your best friend Best feature: I'm cute-I mean look at me! Loves: racing around the backyard like he's training to break the record for the land speed record, then collapsing so all can bask in his glory Dislikes: being picked up when I am not ready. Just because I am portable does not mean you can put me where you want me. I'll get there, just give me a second. Sheesh, what the rush? Bucket list: shopping for my winter wardrobe (perhaps a Badger or Packer fleece), trying to figure out how I am going to be a ninja in the snow, trips to Culver's for a pup cup and maybe a butter burger-those both have a lot of protein, right? If taken out every 2-3 hours I'm fine but if you will be gone longer, I wear a diaper and a belly band. I also wear a diaper and belly band at night in case I cannot get to the door fast enough. I went to the dentist recently and left with all my teeth so they are in good shape Neutered Microchipped Takes treats gently Walks happily on leash and will let you know when he is ready to be done-sometimes gets anxious and needs to run and wants to get back to his yard for a zoomie session Excellent in car Roams freely when home alone with a belly band on UTD on vaccinations UTD on preventatives Shadow is a sweet, quiet dog that just wants to be near his person. He loves treats! His teeth are in great shape. He loves a good walk and will go several times a day, as long as it is not too hot. He may be losing his hearing, so he does startle easily if he doesn't know you are there. Please know that he was not well treated in his previous home, so his new humans should be willing to be patient and gentle with him. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $350, ($600 for a pair). Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Gizmo and Nala are a bonded pair and have been together for eight years and will only be adopted together. Gizmo is a laugh a minute. He loves his small toys and is addicted to small balls. Carrying them with him, dropping them in one area, and retrieving more till he has a stock pile of his treasures at your feet. Gizzy is a proud little nugget with a constant tail wag. He adores attention and is always pushing his hiney into you, In and out of your legs, just like a kitten. When Nala is exhausted from human attention, Gizmo knows it’s his turn. He treats Nala like the princess she is. Meal time is simple. They must eat in separate areas because Nala is the ruler of the roost and will steal Gizmos meals, then excuse herself graciously to go and eat her own. The two of them spend their days together snuggling, exploring outside or playing with toys. Gizmo is neutered, UTD in all vaccinations including Bordatella. He is microchipped and takes a monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Gizmo and Nala must go to a home with a securely fenced area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 11, 2025, 12:37 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Nala and Gizmo are a bonded pair and have been together for 8 years, therefore they must be adopted together. Nala is a sweet little nugget with her big brown eyes and short legs. She loves all people and would do well in a home with respectful children twelve years or older. Her favorite spot would be on your lap receiving belly rubs. Nala and Gizmo protect each other, so being the only pups in the home would be ideal. When playtime is over, she will quietly walk away and find a cozy bed to rest. She is very laid back and doesn’t have a care in the world. Just looking at her will melt your heart. Nala will let you know when she is hungry, it’s the only time she barks. When she hears her meals being prepared, she barks until her meal is in front of her. Nala is up to date on all her vaccinations including Bordatella. She is microchipped and is taking a monthly flea/tick and Heart worm preventative. Nala and Gizmo must have a securely fenced area to relieve themselves. They both enjoy being outdoors. She is potty trained.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 11, 2025, 12:37 pm

Story
Hi, I’m Teddy  Professional snuggler. Part-time prancer. Full-time heart stealer. I’m a Yorkie–Poodle–Pomeranian blend of pure fluff and feelings. (My mama was a purebred Yorkie and my dad was a poodle/Pomeranian mix, so yes — I was destined to be fabulous.) My first owner loved me very much, but sadly passed away. I didn’t understand why everything changed… but then I met my foster mom, and now I’m pretty sure I’ve decided she’s my person. (She says she’s “just fostering,” but I say… we’ll see.)  My Personality I’m playful but gentle, the kind of boy who hops and prances instead of runs. I sometimes pause before approaching because I want to make very sure I’m invited — but ohhhh, once I am? I’m all in. When you pick me up, I completely melt. Like, full body relaxation. Bonus feature: soft kisses included. I prefer to be carried everywhere, as any refined gentleman should be. Social Skills Kids? Love them Dogs? Friends Cats? Also friends Puppy pads? Doing great Going outside on a schedule? Learning fast and very proud of myself I’m trying my very best.  The Fine Print (Important but Worth It) Being this cute does come with responsibilities: • I’ll need regular professional grooming every 4–6 weeks • I’ll likely need professional dental cleanings starting around age 5 – Little dogs like me are prone to tartar buildup – Expect $350–$500 per cleaning – Possibly yearly, then maybe twice a year as I get older • Pet insurance is strongly recommended — it’s affordable when I’m young and pays off big as I age Trust me… I’m worth the investment  My Wishlist I have simple needs: Unlimited clothing & accessories budget Crystal-engraved food & water bowls Custom embroidered harness A boujee stroller for our daily walks(because walking is fine, but strolling is a lifestyle) If you’re looking for a soft, loving, slightly fancy little soul who wants nothing more than to be held, adored, and carried into your forever — I’m your guy.   All of our animals reside in loving foster homes until they are adopted into their perfect match. If you are interested in meeting this animal, please complete an adoption application on our website: https://www.BestPawsRescue.com   Spay/Neuter PolicyAny animal that has not been spayed or neutered at the time of adoption will require a signed Spay/Neuter Agreement and a refundable $100 deposit (payable by check or electronic payment). The procedure must be completed within six (6) months of the adoption date. Once Best Paws Rescue receives acceptable proof of the spay/neuter procedure, the deposit will be refunded to the adopter.Failure to comply with the terms of the Spay/Neuter Agreement within the required six (6) months will result in forfeiture of the deposit. If the procedure is performed by one of Best Paws Rescue’s approved veterinary partners, the full cost of the spay/neuter is covered by the adoption fee. Ages and breeds are our best estimates, and we cannot make any guarantees. Most of our animals come from overcrowded shelters with limited resources. We do our best to evaluate each animal’s behavior and medical needs and place them into loving foster homes until they are ready to go home with you. Our organization is operated entirely by dedicated volunteers who give their time and love out of the goodness of their hearts. ##2652119##
