Story
Meet Fozzie: A Sweet, Loyal 8-Year-Old Looking for Love Fozzie is an 8-year-old gentleman with a gentle and kind soul. Calm, friendly, and loyal, he’s the kind of pup who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. Fozzie came into foster care with his brother after their dad passed away. His brother has since crossed the rainbow bridge, and this sweet boy has found comfort in routine and the companionship of his foster sister. Now, he’s ready for a forever home where he can feel safe and loved again. Traits - Loyal, calm, sweet, and attentive - Gentle and affectionate with people - Good with respectful kids and not easily startled A Few of Fozzie's Favorite Things - Chasing squirrels and bunnies - Walks and outdoor exploring - Belly rubs and snuggles - Snacks - Cuddling on the couch or sleeping in bed with his person Ideal Home Fozzie needs a calm home with someone who is home a good deal of the time because being alone is scary after all he’s been through. Having a high pitched bark we would recommend a private home vs. apartment life. A fenced yard or daily walks are ideal since he loves a good squirrel chase. Fozzie is great with respectful kids and friendly strangers. He can get a little too excited around cats, so a cat-free home is best. He’s mostly house trained, though he may have an occasional accident and appreciates patience. More than anything, Fozzie just wants a predictable, loving home where he can feel secure and cherished. He would also do well with training classes to build confidence and bond with his person. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion and best friend, Fozzie is ready to love you forever.

Story
About Me: Name: Woodle Breed (or best guess): Yorkie-Poodle Date of Birth: 7/29/25 Gender: F Approximate Weight: on 11/12   5 lb Adoption Fee: $650 Requirements: Loving families Why In Rescue: Breeder surrenders Profile:   We received a number of puppies from a commercial breeder/puppy farmer who was not able to sell them to a broker or pet store.  They are happy friendly puppies who just need a family to grow and learn with.  When you apply and are approved, you will be able to come see the pups that are still available for adoption so you can pick one that has the personality you are hoping for.  They are all adorable and should be low or no shed mixes.  They haven't lived in a home yet, so a home will be new to them, but they should learn quickly!  We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS November 28, 2025, 10:06 am

Story
Levi is a 7 to 9 yr old, 6 pound, black and silver Yorkie Mix, sweet as can be. He is definitely a Mama's boy, doesn't care much for men, is not mean, just keeps his distance. Previous owner said he didn't like children. He's also neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Levi sleeps with his foster parents. He is crate trained, walks well on leash and loves exploring the back yard with his foster siblings. Levi ignores the resident cats and seems to be pretty well house trained if kept on a schedule. He eats Pet Fresh right now but we're working on introducing him to kibble. We're also working on teaching him to use steps to get on and off the couch. At this point he just hops up and down to be picked up. Once Levi gets used to his new home he is an absolute love bug (only took about a week). He wants to either sit on your lap or snooze near you. He loves to be carried and is great for car rides! When Levi was groomed, the groomer discovered a small lump on his behind. The vet checked it and said it was just a small, fatty cyst. Also, like many small dogs, Levi has luxating patella on both back legs. He is not in pain and gets a daily joint supplement. Levi's adoption fee is $500. He is being fostered by Marcia in Ingleside, IL. You can contact her at 224-629-3695 or zeezmom@sbcglobal.net for more information.

Story
Hi my name is Ben. I am a 7 year old male Yorkshire Terrier (Yorkie). I have a rust, tan and black coat. I am a puppymill survivor. I know I like people! I wag my tail and wiggle everywhere when I see someone. I do back up a few times before I wiggle over to a new person. I only weigh 5.6 pounds currently and I am a skinny boy who will need some TLC to give me back a healthy weight and a handsome coat. I am in a foster home in Mt Pleasant Wi. currently with other dogs and cats. I ignore those cats and have fun with the dogs. I will have my vetting Done December 2nd. I can't wait to meet my forever family. I will need a fenced in yard. My adoption $550.00.. Fostered with Maggie.

Story
Meet Shadow Nickname: His Royal Highness Breed: Yorkie mix Rescue: Albert's Dog Lounge Age: 15 years old (and I still get my 10000 steps in, which for humans would be 5000-those extra 2 legs doubles the number) Weight: 12 pounds (I am small but mighty) History: Shadow was surrendered to a shelter in Louisiana and brought up to Wisconsin to find his forever home. We think he was mistreated so he will need a patient adopter so he can discover you are safe. Medical issues: Stage 2/3 kidney disease that is being managed with food and supplements. My hearing is not exceptional and I startle when there are loud noises. Foster home: Whitewater, WI Activity level: Low to moderate. I love a good snooze but am always up for a walk and few sets of zoomies in the back yard Friendly with: adults and older kids. Other dogs cramp my style and I was being smacked around by a cat at another place so I am not fond of furry felines Sleep style: I'm sort of like Goldilocks and like to try out a few select areas before I make my choice for the day. I will sleep on the bed with you until you fall asleep and then hop to the floor to find my snuggly bed. Meals: canned Zignature and pork rwbble. Snore-o-meter: 0 Bark-o-meter: 3 (I am quiet most of the time but will howl for a bit when you leave. Once I am comfortable with my house I don't howl because I know you are coming back) Shedding meter: 4 (I need my soft fur gently brushed and occasional grooming) Fashion: I am sure I will explore this further when that stuff called snow starts falling. At that point, as long as it is warm-that's my fashion. Signature color: Black, of course (see below) Fun fact: you cannot see me in a dark room or when it is dark outside because I am a ninja! Walk out song: Go Ninja Go by Vanilla Ice Favorite season: Autumn (hot weather is nice but a cool Autumn breeze is perfect for napping) Personality: a bit aloof until I know you are safe, but if you pick up the leash, or are going outside, I will be your best friend Best feature: I'm cute-I mean look at me! Loves: racing around the backyard like he's training to break the record for the land speed record, then collapsing so all can bask in his glory Dislikes: being picked up when I am not ready. Just because I am portable does not mean you can put me where you want me. I'll get there, just give me a second. Sheesh, what the rush? Bucket list: shopping for my winter wardrobe (perhaps a Badger or Packer fleece), trying to figure out how I am going to be a ninja in the snow, trips to Culver's for a pup cup and maybe a butter burger-those both have a lot of protein, right? If taken out every 2-3 hours I'm fine but if you will be gone longer, I wear a diaper and a belly band. I also wear a diaper and belly band at night in case I cannot get to the door fast enough. I went to the dentist recently and left with all my teeth so they are in good shape Neutered Microchipped Takes treats gently Walks happily on leash and will let you know when he is ready to be done-sometimes gets anxious and needs to run and wants to get back to his yard for a zoomie session Excellent in car Roams freely when home alone with a belly band on UTD on vaccinations UTD on preventatives Shadow is a sweet, quiet dog that just wants to be near his person. He loves treats! His teeth are in great shape. He loves a good walk and will go several times a day, as long as it is not too hot. He may be losing his hearing, so he does startle easily if he doesn't know you are there. Please know that he was not well treated in his previous home, so his new humans should be willing to be patient and gentle with him. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair).
