Story
About Me: Name: Tinkerbell Breed (or best guess): Yorkie Approximate Age: 10 years (or older) Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 4 lb Adoption Fee: $395 Requirements: Loving Family Why In Rescue: Texas transfer Profile:   Tinkerbell is a very tiny little girl and is a senior dog.  How senior, we don't know.  She has been spayed, had a dental, and had a larger mammary mass removed.  The vet did feel some other smaller masses but opted just to remove the larger one right now.  She has been updated on her other veterinary care and is ready to start looking for a home.  She is in a foster home with other small dogs and seems to do okay with the quieter dogs.  She is a happy, loving girl and would love a home where she can be pampered for the rest of her life.  Due to her size and age, she is looking for a home with only small dogs and only older children or an adult only home. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS April 16, 2026, 5:41 pm

Story
About Me: Name: Frosty Breed (or best guess): Yorkie Approximate Age: 6 years Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 7 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Patient adopter, fenced yard is best Why In Rescue: Puppy mill survivor Profile:   Frosty came from a commercial breeder/puppy farmer who was no longer going to use her for breeding.  She is a shy, quiet girl who will need time to adjust to a new home.  She is becoming more comfortable in her foster home and uses potty pads in her area.  A fenced yard or potty area is best, and another small dog may help her adjust more quickly.  Dogs from commercial breeders are generally undersocialized (often very scared/shy/skittish) and probably never lived in a house.  They will need to learn things like how to walk on a leash, go up stairs, and what things like a television are.  They need a patient adopter who will give them the time they need to adjust and to learn to trust people.  Every baby step forward needs to be celebrated, and the dog needs to be accepted for who they are at each step.  Some dogs can adjust quickly and learn how to be a loved pet pretty easily.  Others can take a long time to even be comfortable with things like walking through the house and being in the same room as a person.  No matter how far and how fast the breeder dogs progress, they are wonderful dogs and deserve a great home after their life on the puppy farm.  A fence or at least a secure fenced in potty area is highly recommended for the dog's safety, and may be required for some dogs.  Another small dog in the house can also help many former breeders adjust faster to life in a home, and also may be required in some cases.  We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. Story
Meet Macie! Nickname: Mace of Base, Macie Moo Breed: Yorkie Rescue: Albert’s Dog Lounge Age: Golden Oldie Weight: 14 pounds Background: Macie was surrendered to a shelter in Georgia because her humans were moving and she wasn't allowed to go with. Fun fact: Macie has been told that she looks like the flying nun with those amazing ears! Foster home: Madison, WI Activity level: Moderate Friendly with: Dogs, cats, and older, respectful kids. Macie is a bit exuberant in taking treats, so children should be taught to offer then with a flat hand. Meals: High quality dry small breed kibble mixed with canned, moist food. Meds: Only on monthly preventatives. Has a slight heart murmur but nothing of concern to the vet Sleep style: Macie sleeps on a dog bed next to the human bed, but she would REALLY love to sleep with her humans! Snore-o-meter: 1/10. Maybe a little purr now and then. Bark-o-meter: 2/10. A queen doesn't bark. It's unseemly. Shedding meter: 5/10. Regular brushings and groomings will help lower this number! Walkout song: "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves. Macie greets every day with joy, enthusiasm, a hop and a skip. Favorite pattern: Pink and sparkly. Because I am absolutely FABULOUS Best accessory: A pair of sparkly pink cat's eye sunglasses.... and a crown. Treat me like a queen and I will repay you with love and snuggles Favorite activity: Walkies for days! Add in a wiggle and a little jump, and that is mu favorite thing! Best feature: her thirst for life. She wants to see it all, sniff it all, do it all, eat it all. Favorite season: Spring. Or summer. Basically anything not cold and snowy. Also, rumor has it that y'all have lots of food on the grill in the summer up here. Personality: Silly, energetic, sweet, delightful, loyal, attached Macie's foster mommy says that she is hands down the sweetest, easiest foster she has ever had. Despite being an older lady, she is raring to go, ready to adventure, and walks like it is her runway and you are her hype man. She can get overwhelmed if other dogs are overly loud, and will go isolate to remove herself from the situation. Microchipped Spayed Housebroken, but she is older and has a small bladder so plan for regular potty breaks. She will alert when she has to go outside. Fearful and will bark in a crate. Naps on car rides UTD on vaccinations UTD on preventatives Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $350, ($600 for a pair). Story
Meet Shadow Nickname: His Royal Highness Breed: Yorkie mix Rescue: Albert's Dog Lounge Age: 15 years old (and I still get my 10000 steps in, which for humans would be 5000-those extra 2 legs doubles the number) Weight: 12 pounds (I am small but mighty) History: Shadow was surrendered to a shelter in Louisiana and brought up to Wisconsin to find his forever home. We think he was mistreated so he will need a patient adopter so he can discover you are safe. Medical issues: Stage 2/3 kidney disease that is being managed with food and supplements. My hearing is not exceptional and I startle when there are loud noises. Foster home: Whitewater, WI Activity level: Low to moderate. I love a good snooze but am always up for a walk and few sets of zoomies in the back yard Friendly with: adults and older kids. Other dogs cramp my style and I was being smacked around by a cat at another place so I am not fond of furry felines Sleep style: I'm sort of like Goldilocks and like to try out a few select areas before I make my choice for the day. I will sleep on the bed with you until you fall asleep and then hop to the floor to find my snuggly bed. Meals: canned Zignature and pork rwbble. Snore-o-meter: 0 Bark-o-meter: 3 (I am quiet most of the time but will howl for a bit when you leave. Once I am comfortable with my house I don't howl because I know you are coming back) Shedding meter: 4 (I need my soft fur gently brushed and occasional grooming) Fashion: I am sure I will explore this further when that stuff called snow starts falling. At that point, as long as it is warm-that's my fashion. Signature color: Black, of course (see below) Fun fact: you cannot see me in a dark room or when it is dark outside because I am a ninja! Walk out song: Go Ninja Go by Vanilla Ice Favorite season: Autumn (hot weather is nice but a cool Autumn breeze is perfect for napping) Personality: a bit aloof until I know you are safe, but if you pick up the leash, or are going outside, I will be your best friend Best feature: I'm cute-I mean look at me! Loves: racing around the backyard like he's training to break the record for the land speed record, then collapsing so all can bask in his glory Dislikes: being picked up when I am not ready. Just because I am portable does not mean you can put me where you want me. I'll get there, just give me a second. Sheesh, what the rush? Bucket list: shopping for my winter wardrobe (perhaps a Badger or Packer fleece), trying to figure out how I am going to be a ninja in the snow, trips to Culver's for a pup cup and maybe a butter burger-those both have a lot of protein, right? If taken out every 2-3 hours I'm fine but if you will be gone longer, I wear a diaper and a belly band. I also wear a diaper and belly band at night in case I cannot get to the door fast enough. I went to the dentist recently and left with all my teeth so they are in good shape Neutered Microchipped Takes treats gently Walks happily on leash and will let you know when he is ready to be done-sometimes gets anxious and needs to run and wants to get back to his yard for a zoomie session Excellent in car Roams freely when home alone with a belly band on UTD on vaccinations UTD on preventatives Shadow is a sweet, quiet dog that just wants to be near his person. He loves treats! His teeth are in great shape. He loves a good walk and will go several times a day, as long as it is not too hot. He may be losing his hearing, so he does startle easily if he doesn't know you are there. Please know that he was not well treated in his previous home, so his new humans should be willing to be patient and gentle with him. Story
Our sweet 5-year-old Yorkie is looking for a new home where he can get the time and attention he deserves. He is fully potty trained, very loving, and enjoys being around people who will play with him. He may bark at strangers at first, but once he gets a chance to sniff you and warm up, he quickly becomes your best friend. He truly is a sweetheart who just loves attention and companionship. He would do best with someone who has the time to play with him and give him lots of love. This decision wasn’t easy, but we want to make sure he finds a home where he can be happy and get the attention he deserves. If you think you could give him a great home, please reach out. 🐶💙

Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs! To sponsor my trip to WI, go to  www.tailwaggers911.com  for more info!   ***I am able to go home to my forever family soon!! You get a 5 day trial with me in your home. Put in your application soon!*** Please help me get out! I am currently in a place where there are lots of unwanted dogs and not all of us here get the chance I might have to leave! But in order to help me out of here to catch the ride to WI on May 1st and arrive on May 2nd, I need *both* a sponsor, and a WI foster home *or* a WI adopter! I have a place for now, but I can't stay here forever and I am worried. The rescue has put a hold on me to save my spot on the trip up north to WI, but now they need YOUR help to get me there - don't wait!!! Updated: 3/28/26 Dog Name: Cartier Sex: Male Estimated Breed: YorkiePoo Mix Approximate Age: 1-2 years Approximate Weight: 18-20 lbs Spay/Neuter Status: Neutered Description: Cartier and his friends Harry Winston & Tiffany were found in horrible condition. Their hair was terribly matted, they were hungry and scared. These little babies are sweet after they warm up. They are friendly and smart and happy to be saved! They are opening up well and showing their cute little personalities. He does well with other dogs and respectful kids! They need a loving family to continue showing them about the good life!  Adoption Fee: $550We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time, we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. April 17, 2026, 11:07 pm
