Hi, I'm Bowser. I'm a 6-year-old male Yorkie who weighs about 9 pounds. I'm new to the rescue and just got to my foster home a few days ago. So far, my foster family knows that I'm super sweet and looooove attention and to cuddle. I'm a little leery around kids and haven't been cat-tested. I like my foster fur siblings but don't necessarily need a doggy friend in my furever home. I'm crate-trained and working hard on my potty-training. Oh, I also only have 3 legs. But I don't let that slow me down at all - I actually move quite quickly and love to jump up on furniture to be by people and get pets. Keep an eye out as my foster family learns more about me! I love to play with toys and especially love to chew and run around and then snuggle afterwards. I love my human mommy and my fur brothers. I follow them around everywhere. I’ve never met cats, but had a doggie play date and did very well! I have been Co-sleeping in bed with my mommy and have been accident free every night! I’m working on crate and potty training; I would benefit from continued training on manners. I’m so petite, I would do well with older kids (preferably over 10) and adults who can make sure I stay safe. Meet Madeline! Hello there everyone, my name is Madeline, and it's time for me to find my forever home! As an adult lady weighing just 10 pounds who gets along with dang near everyone I've met, it shouldn't be too hard, one wouldn't think. I do prefer a more calm household, with calm fur friends (dogs AND cats!) and calm children if there are any in the home. I go potty on pee pads in the house, but I'm certainly not opposed to learning to go potty outside, and I do, just not enough to consider me house trained. I'd love to have a fenced yard, but it's certainly not necessary. I really enjoy being close to my people, and I would be content with riding along with you in a purse or sling so I could go everywhere with you. I enjoy car rides, and I prefer wet food over kibble. Meet Benji! Age: Senior Weight: 20 pounds (give or take. Who still weighs themselves?) Good with: Dogs, cats, kids (the perfect teifecta!) Houstrained: yes (but do best on a schedule and should be let out every 4-5 hours to avoid accidents). Crate trained: I don't need one because I just snooze while you're away! Special needs: blind, but get around great and diabetic, but easy peasy lemon squeezy! Plus my medicine is only about $25 a month from Wal-Mart! I'm a pretty easy-going, fun-loving little dude. I might not see with my eyes, but given just a little adjustment period, I see everything in all the other ways! I can jump up on the couch for a nap, or to sit with my humans, and I love being outside exploring the fenced yard in my foster home, but i also know how to walk on a leash for some great sniffaris. I love car rides, too! Foster mom says I'm the easiest diabetic dog she's ever had, and I don't even need special food, I just eat the kibble like everyone else here, and I do wonderful with it. Meet Bruce! Age: Golden Oldie Weight: 15lbs Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Good with: kids and dogs (LOVES cats…but can’t help but chase them, so shouldn't live with them.) House trained: yes Crate trained: does not enjoy the crate but roams freely when left alone, he often barks/is anxious when left alone and prefers someone is home often (another pet in the home may help his anxiety) Special needs: Bruce may have some slight hearing loss. He was previously diagnosed with Lyme disease but is not expected to need additional care beyond his current course of medicine (provided) As you can see, I'm quite a cutie, but I’m more than just a handsome face! I’m a sweet and cuddly guy who loves to be right by your side. I would love it if you were home often so we have LOTS of time to spend together. I love playing fetch, going for walks, joining you for adventures and cuddling up to be your nap buddy! Katie is almost 7 years old, having spent her first 6 years in a puppy mill. She will require a human with patience and gentleness as sudden noises put her on alert. A home far away from fireworks would be best. She is fostered in a home with both dogs and cats & gets along with all.Earning her trust is not an immediate event, but once you do, she will want to be by your side nearly all the time. Dogs from commercial breeders are generally undersocialized (often very scared/shy/skittish) and probably never lived in a house.  They will need to learn things like how to walk on a leash, go up stairs, and what things like a television are.  They need a patient adopter who will give them the time they need to adjust and to learn to trust people.  Every baby step forward needs to be celebrated, and the dog needs to be accepted for who they are at each step.  Some dogs can adjust quickly and learn how to be a loved pet pretty easily.  Others can take a long time to even be comfortable with things like walking through the house and being in the same room as a person.  No matter how far and how fast the breeder dogs progress, they are wonderful dogs and deserve a great home after their life on the puppy farm.  A fence or at least a secure fenced in potty area is highly recommended for the dog's safety, and may be required for some dogs.  Another small dog in the house can also help many former breeders adjust faster to life in a home, and also may be required in some cases.  We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation.
