Meet Cashew, a 2-year, 10-month-old Akita mix who has been in our care since May 2025 and is still waiting for her chance at a forever home.Cashew is a high-energy dog who would do best in an active home that can keep up with her. She is smart and eager to learn, already knowing “sit” and “lay down,” and would benefit from continued training and structure.Cashew has a condition called masticatory muscle myositis, which affects the muscles in her jaw. She eats and drinks comfortably but may have some difficulty picking up toys. This does not stop her from enjoying life or being an active, engaged dog. She is looking for a home that understands her needs and is willing to invest time in her continued training and care.If you’re looking for an energetic and intelligent companion, Cashew may be a great fit.

Story
Appa is sweet, gentle girl. She is an Akita mix, and is 60lbs. She is good with kids and cats. She is mid to low energy, right now she gets two walks a day, each 20-30 minutes, as well as play time and time running in the yard, then she sleeps the rest of the day. She tends to growl at dogs who approach her and doesn’t seem to like other dogs (she wasn't socialized as we don't have any other dogs, there are some low energy larger dogs that she doesn't mind but she doesn't like dogs approaching her) so she would likely need to be the only dog in a household. She also has some separation anxiety, so when coming to a new home she would need someone patient who can help her adjust slowly and not leave her alone for a few weeks. She loves getting head scratches, going on walks (she does pull a bit but with a harness can be redirected) and sleeping in the sun. I am having to undergo a fairly extensive surgery soon, so I need to find a new home for her ASAP.

Magnolia is one of 5 siblings saved from being euthanized at 12 weeks. She is now 1 years old this May. She needs plenty of exercise. She loves walking, running, fetching and playing chase in the yard. She loves to chase water flowing from water pads and motion sprinklers. She enjoy playing with other dogs and cats if they let her, selective. After exhausting her energy, she loves to snuggle and give plenty of kisses. She likes to sleep close to her humans. She is so loved and I love for her to go to a forever home to live out her life. A fenced yard is a must when she is playing in the yard without a leash.

She loves walking, running, fetching and playing chase in the yard. She loves to play with selected dogs and cats if they let her. She would likely be happiest as the sole fur baby. She would be a great match for someone who loves the outdoors and staying active. After exhausting her energy, she loves to relax and snuggle. She looks forward to plenty of belly rubs. She is so loved and I love for her to go to a forever home to live out her life. She likes to sleep close to her humans. A fenced yard would be great when she is off leash.
