Ume is an adult female Akita that loves to bounce around the play yard and splash in her pool! She is sweet and comes running to you for a good scratch. She can be selective with other dogs but does fall in love and is best friend with one of our males Yoshi. For now she would need to be an only dog. She is very treat motivated and also loves toys!! She would do best in a breed experienced, adult only home. Fun loving Ume would also need some time to gain trust before heading to her new home. This young Akita bonded pair are available for adoption!!! Meet Wallace (male dark coat) and Winnie (female sand/golden coat), these two are quite the pair!!! Very friendly and affectionate with people, they a stunning example of the breed. Wallace and Winnie are very young and follow your lead. They are very responsive to training and are at the perfect age to grow and adjust to their new home. They do have Akita prey drive so no small pets are recommended and as they are young and have puppy energy at times we do not recommend small children. They love going for walks, napping next to each other and are just a delightful pair. Wallace and Winnie are in boarding so they are available for an appt with a little notice. He is very timid and cautious at the moment because this young boy was dragged with a catch pole and treated very poorly.  We are working with Ghost to help him overcome some fear based reactivity and food resource guarding before he is ready to go home and would welcome any monthly sponsors to assist with his care. If you are a force-free positive reinforcement trainer and could spend a few hours volunteering with Ghost as well, that would be amazing! Shadow is a very sweet lovable and laughable dog. Moments of complete air headedness, follow by wanting pets, followed by wanting food. Although he is a husky, he tends to be on the calmer side and even very timid and weary. But he never says no to food. Heterochromatic eyes, one brown one blue. All and all, very good dog that just needs someone to give him walks, pets, treats, and love.
