Story
Sammy IS AVAILALBE (updated 05-04-2024).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Sammy, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22667&name=SammySammy was found wandering alone, wearing a black harness attached to a white leash. People had previously seen him being walked by an elderly man near Del High Park, but no one could find that gentleman and Sammy was taken to the shelter. He was checked in, given an impound number of #A1818905, and sat there waiting for his family to find him. His time was running out, no one came for him, and the shelter had now given him a euthanasia date. We rescued Sammy and put up signs in the area in which he was found, hoping his owner would see them, but no one has responded. This super fluffy guy with the biscuit paws is thought to be around 4-5 years old and isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t a high maintenance diva. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been through so much already and we would love to be able to let him adjust inside a wonderful foster (or adoptive) home. Right now, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153d do best as the only dog.The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.May 4, 2024, 5:54 am

*This is a courtesy listing.* Meet Dorian! Dorian is looking for his forever home!! He's the silliest Akita Inu mix, and he's as loyal and loving as they come. He is extremely handsome and the sweetest, most easy going guy. Dorian is crate trained, potty trained, and knows several commands. He can be nervous around strangers, but once he knows you, he loves you for life! Dorian is dog friendly, and he is an absolute goofball when he plays. Dorian loves to go for walks (cue the happy hops) and crash for a nap next to his person. He would be fantastic with a person with Akita experience or someone who understands/has researched the breed. Dorian is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and currently on flea tick and heartworm medication. Overall. he's in good health, and we believe he is around 6-7 years old and weighs 80 lbs. We recently did his DNA test with Embark, and he is an Akita Inu, American Akita, Pittie mix. Dorian is available through Grandma Betty's Animal Rescue. If you are interested in meeting this special boy, you may: - Contact his foster mom Megan at (858) 699-4219 - Email the rescue at adoptions@grandmabettysanimalrescue.com - Or fill out an adoption application on their website: grandmabettysanimalrescue.com *Frosted Faces Foundation has not assessed this dog medically or behaviorally.*

FOR DOGS NOT LOCATED AT THE AKITA RANCH, PLEASE CONTACT THE SHELTER OR INDIVIDUAL LISTED IN THE DESCRIPTION DIRECTLY for more information on a particular dog.Pretty 85 lb tri-color girl wants a home of her ownKia is an adult female weighing in at about 100 lbs. Very friendly to people she trusts and a good girl on a leash. She likes to play ball Akita style meaning she will get the ball once and then it belongs to her! She is learning basic commands and can sit like a pro, especially if a tasty treat is involved!! She is not reactive to other polite dogs while on leash but she will tell rude dogs to back off!! Kia is a sassy Akita girl that knows her worth!! She does not want other animals invading her space, therefore accordingly, she would do best as the only pet in the home. She has never lived with children and because their behavior can be unpredictable, she would do better in a home with teens and up who will be respectful of her boundaries. Kia is more aloof and independent versus velcro and constantly needing attention. But this girl can lay the cuteness on thick when she knows you are her people!!! He may have a tiny bit of Malinois mixed in due to the shape of his head but that is pure speculation. He came into rescue neglected and has recovered beautifully!! He is very playful and loves to run but is also quite attached to his humans! He is looking for a home with either a fenced yard with room to run or one that will take him out on hikes, walks or runs. (On leash of course!) He seems to prefer being an only dog/child. Pistol is a spunky young boy that loves affection. He will run and jump like a kangaroo in excitement to see you!! He is very afraid of fireworks so needs a home that will understand and keep him in a safe place during those booming nights. He is a very sweet boy that will steal your heart! FOR DOGS NOT LOCATED AT THE AKITA RANCH, PLEASE CONTACT THE SHELTER OR INDIVIDUAL LISTED IN THE DESCRIPTION DIRECTLY for more information on a particular dog.Yoshi is a young male Akita weighing approximately 80 lbs. He is very handsome and still growing. During the first few months of his life he only had limited exposure to the world outside of his previous home. Yoshi is highly intelligent and wants someone who will stimulate his mind and teach him new skills. It takes him a little bit of time to warm up to strangers and get used to them so it will take more than one visit before he is ready to go home. Because of his cautious demeanor, he would do best in a calm and consistent environment with a good human leader to make him feel safe and help him develop into a more well rounded canine. He would do best with a breed experienced home that respects his space and positively encourages him as he learns what this world has to offer. He is confident and a happy easy keeper, that loves exploring. He would thrive with someone who believes in him as he learns what being a loved and accepted doggy is like. No children under 18 and no other pets please. Email apassionforpaws@gmail.com to schedule a meet and greet!! Visit Akita Ranch 28930 Ellis Ave, Romoland, CA, Open 10-5 daily BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. How this pet arrived:Bronco was brought in by a Good Samaritan on April 19, 2023. Why this pet is the one for you: Meet Bronco, a charming canine companion ready to bring joy and adventure into your life! Initially reserved, Bronco blossoms into a much more confident friend once he feels secure in his environment. He relishes gentle petting and attention but values his personal space, so big hugs are a no-go. Bronco is a lively and outdoorsy pup, thriving on long walks where he can indulge in his favorite pastime - sniffing out new scents. Car rides, fetching games, water play, and spirited runs are also among his cherished activities. Despite his confidence during outings, Bronco seeks a serene home environment, free from the company of other dogs or young children who might overwhelm him. If you're seeking a fun and active companion who appreciates a balance of social interaction and independent exploration, Bronco could be your perfect match! Story
This is a courtesy listing, not a SPOT Rescue dog. For more information regarding Sadie, contact Patricia below.. Sadie is a beautiful 7 year old Alaskan Husky in search of a forever home. Her previous owner recently passed away, leaving her as an orphan. Sadie was raised by an elderly woman and seems to take to women easier than men. She loves to play fetch and tug a war with her toys. Sadie walks well on or off a leash and stays close to her handler. Sadie also responds well to voice and hand commands. Sadie uses Piddle Pads for night time if not taken out to use the restroom before bed. Sadie has been known to bark at outside noises but will quiet down once she recognizes the sound. We believe Sadie would do best in a single person or family home for anyone who is looking for companionship. She loves to sleep at the side of your bed, on the floor and will spend endless hours following you around the house if you let her. If interested in providing Sadie a safe place to call home. Please reach out to Patricia Smith at (760)757-3308 and she would love for you to meet her! Re-homing fee: $100
