Story
How Kai arrived: Kai was brought in by their previous owner on 1/3/26. Why Kai is the one for you:Meet Kai - a sweet, affectionate pup with a big heart and lots of potential. Kai has done wonderfully with children and has previously lived successfully with another dog, showing that he can build positive relationships when given the right introductions and guidance. He's a smart, eager learner who benefits from structure and consistency. Like many dogs, Kai can feel unsure around unfamiliar dogs, and he's currently working on building confidence and calm responses in those situations. With supportive adopters who are willing to continue positive, reward-based training and provide thoughtful management, Kai is set up to thrive. His eagerness to please, loving nature, and past success in a multi-dog home make him a truly special companion for the right family. At SDHS:Kai has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Kai is now ready for their new home! Primary Color: Seal Secondary Color: White Weight: 91.6 Age: 1yrs 7mths 2wks

Story
Cubby was rescued by me and my wife before we found out she was pregnant. We found him on the side of the road and was pretty malnourished, today he is about 7-8 months old, has all his shots and we took him to be examined and he is very healthy. Unfortunately due to my full home we can’t keep him anymore. Adoption fee is at zero because we just want him to go to a good home. He comes with a cage and a bowl for food. We are unaware if maybe he was abused or if he was hit when he was younger but he does seem very skittish around men

Story
Ludo came into our care after the passing of his beloved mom. 15 years young and weighing 70 pounds, Ludo is a sweet, friendly, fun-loving senior with so much love left to give. According to his mom’s sister, Ludo was “deeply, deeply loved” and spent his life peacefully coexisting with two cats. Despite his age, he still lights up at walk time, enjoys playing with toys, and gets the most endearing, puppy-like zoomies when he’s excited. One of our volunteers recently treated Ludo to a special solo adventure, and he was all in! He hopped right into the car, ready to go, and happily explored Old Poway Park before stopping for a well-earned pup cup at a local coffee shop. After a day full of sniffs, wags, and treats, Ludo cozied up for a nap on the ride back to FFF. Ludo is a loving, joyful senior who would make a wonderful companion for someone looking to share leisurely adventures and lots of love with a truly special dog. To meet Ludo, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

Story
How this pet arrived: Zoe was brought in by a community member on June 7, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Zoe, her gorgeous fluffy coat is just waiting to be admired and her personality will put her over the top and she will be your number one pick! Though shy at first, Zoe is a real go getter once she gets to know you. She loves giving hugs, playing fetch, going on car rides, and just getting the attentions she deserves (preferably all to herself). Zoe may prefer to be the only pup in the home, and she'd do best without young kids. If you do have another dog, we'd love to set up a meet-and-greet to make sure it's a good match. Zoe cant wait to get out of here with you and show you just how fun it can be with a dog by your side. Come in and ask about adopting her today! At SDHS:Zoe has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Shy/Fearful Dog: Zoe requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about her. Story
How this pet arrived: Roxanne was brought in by their previous owner on January 25, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Roxanne! Roxanne is a total sweetheart who lives for pets, attention, and hopping in the car for a ride. She's crate trained and potty trained, but if left to her own devices she might put her creativity to work-so a cozy crate routine helps keep her out of trouble. Roxanne would love to be your one-and-only pup. She prefers not to share her prized possessions (like food and toys) with other dogs and truly shines when she doesn't have to compete for attention. With new people, she can be a little shy at first, but give her some space and she'll happily come say hello on her own terms. Roxanne doesn't have a history with kids, so any children in the home should join a meet-and-greet, with adults ready to supervise and help everyone interact positively. Like all dogs, Roxanne appreciates being able to walk away when she's feeling unsure. If you're looking for a loyal sidekick who wants to be the center of your world, Roxanne is ready to steal your heart! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 81.6 Age: 3yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
How Ruby arrived: Ruby was brought in by her previous owner on February 5, 2026. Why Ruby is the one for you:Meet Ruby - a true gem looking for her next setting! Ruby is paws-itively priceless: sweet, sparkly, and guaranteed to add some extra shine to your life. This good girl has a heart of gold (okay, ruby-red) and a personality that really rocks. She loves making new friends, collecting belly rubs like treasures, and believes every human was put on this earth to admire her-fair enough. Ruby is also an active girl who's always ready to go! Walks, playtime, zoomies in the yard-she's game for all of it. After she's had her fun and burned off some energy, she's more than happy to settle in for cuddles and well-earned naps. Best of both worlds? We think so. If you're searching for a loyal companion who can keep up with your adventures and still melt into your lap afterward, don't let this Ruby slip through your paws. Adopt her, and you'll quickly discover that diamonds aren't actually a dog's best friend... humans are. At SDHS:Ruby has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Ruby is now ready for her new home! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 61 Age: 3yrs 3mths 2wks
