Story
Meet Hatchi! A soulful young adult Akita/Siberian Husky mix currently in Roseville, CA, whose essence is a whirlwind of energy wrapped in a majestic tricolor coat and anchored by a loyal, tender heart. Hatchi is a 90-pound oversized teddy bear who’s still adjusting to life with only one working eye, the result of stabilized glaucoma. Though he may see shadows, sudden movements can startle him, especially during walks. Because of this, he thrives with a confident, experienced caregiver who can help him feel grounded and secure. Hatchi is strong on leash and reactive to dogs, cats, bikes, and cars that pass by, so he needs someone who’s comfortable working with large breeds and understands the power of positive reinforcement and patient training. Despite his reactivity, Hatchi is a sweet, snuggly companion at heart. He melts into affection and is eager to please, especially when treats are involved! This intelligent boy responds to his name, is crate trained, house-trained, and has lived harmoniously with young children aged 7 and 8. He may do well with a calm, female dog companion but would not be compatible with cats. Daily life with Hatchi includes administering eye drops, which he’ll need for the rest of his life. Thankfully, his love of treats makes this task pretty manageable. A fenced yard is essential, not because he’s tried to escape, but because his Husky instincts and natural curiosity make outdoor safety a must. Hatchi is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, and he’s ready to embark on a new chapter filled with love, structure, and confidence-building. His sensitive nature means he looks to his human for reassurance, and with the right support, he has the potential to blossom into a truly remarkable companion! Whether you’re curled up on the couch or working on training together in the yard, Hatchi will be right by your side, ready to soak up your affection and offer his loyalty in return. Could you be the guiding heart Hatchi needs to help him thrive? If you’re interested in providing Hatchi with a loving home, please email meetme@joyfulpets.com for more information about adopting him. Please note that Hatchi is currently in foster care through one of our trusted rescue partners and will remain with his foster family until the right match is found. Because rescue-partner pets are managed directly by their respective organizations, their adoption process, requirements, and fees may differ from Joyful Pets’ direct rehoming program. Story
Penny is truly the sweetest family dog. She is calm and gentle. Penny is very affectionate and LOVES people. Penny loves getting pets and belly rubs. She is a pit bull mix about 7.5 years young with a beautiful copper-colored coat (hence her name Penny!). Our sweet Penny was in the Carson animal shelter for 6 months before she received her final notice. She was rescued late February this year, and she's been living with me (her current foster mom) for a little over 4 months.    Penny is happy just sitting next to anyone in the family. She's not a fan of long walks but she enjoys short walks and loves lounging in the sun. Penny is house trained and is very good at some tricks. Penny is not the best with other dogs but she may be able to live with another calm large dog with training. Penny has some skin allergies so she takes apoquel regularly and currently eats a mix of plant-based and fish-based food. Penny would be an amazing family dog!    ##1635113##

Story
Lomo is 3 years old, she was in the pound for most of her life, we believe she may have been abused previously, and one family right before us adopted her and brought her back to the pound bc she is not good with cats. We adopted her sortof rushed and they would not allow us to introduce our dog that we already had at home to her at the pound so when we got home we tried to keep them seperated as much as possible but it has been about 2 months now and they have gotten into fights when we bring them around each other. The living situation is not the best it could possibly be for her, she is the sweetest dog ever. she literally only wants love and wants to cuddle. she is very very calm but can be slightly playful i think with the right people it would come out more. she doesn't bark too too much, but sometimes when she's outside. im so sad to give her up bit it is genuinely for everyones safety and her happiness. needs love and attention.

Story
⭐️ Linda is a 3-year-old Akita mix with some possible Shepherd or Husky. She was found tethered on a short rope in a pallet lot, confined there 24/7. 💔 🐾 Despite her past, Linda is happy, confident, and loving to all who meet her! She is playful, energetic, good-natured and would brighten every day that you spend together. 🏡 Her ideal home would be one that is active and will take her on walks or hikes. And if you throw a squeaky toy or ball a few times a day? Well, that would make Linda very happy! She is incredibly playful and would do well with another dog in the home too.

Story
Hi! My name is Annie. Not too long ago, I was running around the streets of Beverly Hills, hungry, scared, and very lost. I didn’t know where my human was or how to find my way home. Then one day, a very kind woman called out to me. Her voice was gentle, and I was frightened and alone… so I ran right to her. Best decision ever! Now I’m being fostered in a loving home where I get fed twice a day (yum!), have a fun canine playmate, and am even learning some training I never had before. I really enjoy walks, playing with my doggy friend, and relaxing knowing I’m safe and cared for. I’m a happy girl who loves humans and gets along great with other dogs. I love the dog park! I’m not much of a barker — honestly, I don’t bark at all. I might whine a little if I want something, and I do an occasional happy howl when I see food coming my way (can you blame me?). I dream of a forever home where I can get lots of love and attention and maybe another canine playmate. I adore hugs, long walks, learning tricks for treats, tummy rubs, playtime, and being close to my people — basically, I just really love love. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet, joyful companion… I’m your girl. Love,Annie [Annie was born in April 2025 and weighs 60 lbs.] If you'd like to meet Annie, please contact Betty: (818) 489-0532 or bkmakeup@yahoo.com Note: This is a courtesy posting for our fellow rescuer, which means that even though this animal does not belong to our group, we are here to help those who need to find a home for their animals. Story
Meet Sadie! A loyal and playful almost three-year-old Siberian Husky/German Shepherd mix currently in Burbank, CA, whose expressive eyes and joyful zoomies are just the beginning of her charm. Wrapped in a gorgeous gray and tan coat, Sadie is a spirited adventurer at heart! An ideal sidekick for anyone who loves walks, hikes, and of course, fetch (her all-time favorite game!). This athletic girl is not just all energy and fun, she’s also a gentle soul who forms deep bonds with her humans once she’s had a proper introduction. Sadie takes stranger introductions seriously, but once you're in her circle, get ready for a loyal companion who greets you with a wagging tail and her signature grin! Crate trained, house-trained, and incredibly food motivated, Sadie thrives on a structured routine. She eats twice a day, enjoys lounging on the couch or in her crate, and looks forward to her daily walk, as long as it’s paired with a few solid rounds of fetch. Rainy days might cause a slip in her potty routine, but overall, she does beautifully with consistency and care. Though she’s lived with other dogs, Sadie is selective and needs to be the only pet in her next home. She has been involved in altercations with other dogs when introductions were rushed or not managed carefully. She can be unsure around highly playful or reactive dogs, and she’s still learning the art of dog play. While she’s not reactive on leash or through fences, her new pet parent will need to continue supporting her social development with patience and positive reinforcement. Her heart, however, is wide open to her people (especially women) and she’s done wonderfully around children ages 3 to 9 in a former foster setting! Smart, responsive, and eager to please, Sadie knows basic commands like “sit,” walks like a pro on leash, and is always up for new adventures with her trusted humans. While she may need a little patience when meeting new people, tossing her a toy or offering a treat is the perfect way to win her over! Could you be the steady, loving companion Sadie needs to keep her world full of fetch games, soft beds, and new adventures? If you’re interested in providing Sadie with a loving home, please email meetme@joyfulpets.com for more information about adopting her! Please note that Sadie is currently in foster care through one of our trusted rescue partners and will remain with her foster family until the right match is found. Story
Meet Willow! A courageous two-year-old Siberian Husky/American Pitbull Terrier mix currently in Los Angeles, CA, whose tricolor coat shimmers as brightly as her unstoppable spirit. Willow’s story is one of resilience, growth, and hope. Despite a challenging beginning, she’s blossomed into a loving, curious girl with an unstoppable zest for life. A distemper survivor with a fighter’s heart, Willow has endured more than most pups her age, but you’d never know it when she’s trotting happily on a long walk or curling up beside her caregiver for a cuddle session. Walks? She looooves them, whether it’s a brisk stroll or an adventurous hike, she’s happiest when exploring the world with her person! This playful and spirited girl currently shares her space with four senior dogs. While she does best in a single-dog home, her trainer believes she could thrive with a dog of similar energy and age, just no snack-sharing please, as Willow can guard her food around other dogs. She has also shown protective behaviors, including a past incident where she attempted to bite a mail carrier when startled, and she tends to nip when overly excited. Willow is also fearful of strangers, particularly men, which can cause her to react defensively when she feels unsure or unsafe. These behaviors are rooted in past trauma and fear, not aggression, and she’s actively working through them in a board-and-train program focused on building confidence through positive reinforcement. With the right support, she’s learning how to trust again. Willow prefers to be the center of affection and would flourish in a home that can offer her one-on-one love, structure, and understanding. She’s making real progress and trying so hard to get things right, especially when surrounded by patient hearts and steady routines. Willow is crate trained, house trained, and knows the “sit” command like a pro! She’s a clever explorer who once figured out how to push through a screen window just to be near her favorite people. Her heart is full of affection, loyalty, and a need to feel safe. She thrives with a calm, adult family that values routine and kindness, and she’s especially compatible with guardians who are home often and understand the beauty of going slow and steady. If you're someone who believes in second chances, sees strength where others might see struggle, and has the time, patience, and love to help Willow continue to grow, she just might be your heart dog waiting to happen! Could Willow be the devoted, adventurous, snuggle-loving girl your family’s been waiting for? Contact adopt@joyfulpets.com to meet Willow today! Story
Meet Wolf! A spirited five-year-old Siberian Husky currently in San Bernardino, CA, whose essence is a vibrant burst of adventure wrapped in a striking red and white coat. Wolf is the kind of dog who turns an ordinary afternoon into an outdoor celebration! Whether he is stretching out in a sunny spot to soak up the warmth or dashing around the yard with joyful enthusiasm, he embraces life with the energetic spirit Huskies are known for. At about 60 pounds, this handsome boy is strong, athletic, and always ready to be part of the action! Wolf's story is rooted in love. He was cherished by a devoted caregiver who treated him like family and kept him close as an indoor companion. Following a heartbreaking family loss, Wolf is now looking for a new loving home where he can once again enjoy the comfort, companionship, and connection he has always known. Friendly and social, Wolf enjoys meeting other dogs and is happiest when he has canine friends to play with. He handles short periods alone without difficulty and has a calm, independent side that balances his playful nature. One of his favorite quirks is finding the perfect sunny patch where he can relax and watch the world go by before springing back into action for another run around the yard. As a Siberian Husky, Wolf would thrive with a family who understands the breed's intelligence, energy, and adventurous nature. He will need a secure yard, indoor living, and an active routine that keeps both his body and mind engaged. Wolf is not compatible with cats and should live in a home without cats, birds, or other small animals due to his strong prey drive. A husky-savvy adopter who appreciates positive reinforcement and enriching activities will help him shine! Wolf is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and has no known medical concerns. He is ready for his next chapter with a family who will welcome him into their lives, include him in daily adventures, and appreciate the loyal companionship he offers in return. Could your family be the one to share sunny afternoons, exciting adventures, and a lifetime of wonderful memories with this remarkable Husky?
