Story
This awesome gentle giant was found as a stray here in Burbank. Tyson quickly let us know that he is as sweet and gentle as he is large and in charge. He weighs in at around 100 lbs but has clearly been given some direction and training as he walks very well on a leash even when there is noise and chaos around him. Tyson does not like other dogs and has proven so through several dog playgroups. We are not sure about young kids. Because he was found stray we are not sure about what other training he has had. We think it is safe to assume he will need potty and continued obedience and leash training in his future adopter`s home. He might do okay in an apartment as long as his adopter provides plenty of exercise and mental stimulation as well as check if they are allowed to have a ~100 lb. Akita mix. Many apartments and landlords have breed and weight restrictions.

Story
Hey there. My name is Gizmo. Do you like my adorable speckles and floppy ears? I’m a super handsome boy! I’m a 1.5 year old akita/bulldog mix weighing in at about 70 pounds. I’m a super smart boy who loves to learn and take direction from my handler. I’ll make a great buddy for someone with an active lifestyle who is excited to take me on outdoor adventures. I’ve completed training school with Pack Potential where I’ve worked on my leash skills and building confidence around other pups. I’ll be most comfortable in a home with no other animals or children, and one that will provide structure and boundary. In return I’ll be the most loyal pup around! I’m healthy, up to date on vaccinations, neutered and vaccinated.

Sammy IS AVAILALBE (updated 02-22-2024).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Sammy, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22667&name=SammySammy was found wandering alone, wearing a black harness attached to a white leash. People had previously seen him being walked by an elderly man near Del High Park, but no one could find that gentleman and Sammy was taken to the shelter. He was checked in, given an impound number of #A1818905, and sat there waiting for his family to find him. His time was running out, no one came for him, and the shelter had now given him a euthanasia date. We rescued Sammy and put up signs in the area in which he was found, hoping his owner would see them, but no one has responded. This super fluffy guy with the biscuit paws is thought to be around 4-5 years old and isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t a high maintenance diva. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been through so much already and we would love to be able to let him adjust inside a wonderful foster (or adoptive) home. Right now, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153d do best as the only dog.The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.February 22, 2024, 5:49 am

Meet Joy🩷 Joy is the sweetest pup! She is gentle and adorable and steals everyone’s heart. She is great at building relationships with people!👍🏻 She loves people so much and is affectionate. 🥰 She loves other dog friends and is very playful! But since she has high energy, she can play too rough at times. Through training, she now approaches other dog friends politely! ❤ She doesn’t like to be confined in a small space and wants to be out in spacious areas.

These pups are in Burbank, California too!

Story
Ringo was found as a stray, the missing tip on his left ear is a sign that he was kept as an outdoor only dog. Because of this we believe that Ringo will need everything training (potty, obedience, leash etc.). He`s a young guy so we think he will learn quickly with some time, patience and consistency from his adopters. We recently introduced him into our Dogs Playing for Life Playgroup and he has done well so far, however he can get overwhelmed by other dogs and would prefer a mellow social dog to simply coexist with--he is more of a people person. Meet and greet is required if there are already dogs in the household. No cats please, this breed tends to have a high prey drive. We think Ringo would do fine with kids however young or small ones are highly reccomended to meet Ringo prior to adoption.

Story
Fergie and Bella are lovable sisters who have a blast playing together! Splashing in our water pool, chasing each other around the yard, these dogs love to play with each other almost as much as they love getting petted! These are high energy girls, but do a good job of taking out their energy on each other. They respond to their names and are a happy go lucky pair. We have added them to our Dogs Playing for Life Playgroup and they have done very well so far! Furgie tends to play rough so a tolerant and social dog would be perfect for them. Bella is more interested in getting attention from human companions. No cats please. Because of their energy level and love to play we ask that they go to a home with a moderate sized yard and secure fencing over 6`. Bella A114690 came in with her sister Fergie A114691 whom she relies heavily on. These sisters want to stay together forever and MUST be adopted together.
